- kjartan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1DDR2 is BARELY any faster. You get twice the latency for twice the bandwidth.
- jagnum1fan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1well they might just skip it all together and just support XDR
- pajama, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1DDR2 is still faster.
- ccrook, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1On current Intel boards DDR2 really has very little performance increase. I don't think this is a stupid move from AMD at all. DDR3 will be out by 2006 so they can simply hop aboard that bandwagon.
Of course, this doesn't really affect me because my 2.4ghz P4C runs more than fine on most applications with 1.5gb of DDR400. - shredd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i am pretty certain they want to and plan to support it, but in order to do that they must do a major investment in manufacturing and chip structure.
- dubya, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Just another reason why AMD sucks. Maybe they should have thought about this before investing all their money into 64-bit to soon.
- pajama, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1DDR2 is the next big thing, or something like that. They should support it. Oh well, might as well get Intel.
