- unclewebb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm here to say that the single core AM2s are the real deal when it comes to overclocking. I used an Athlon 3200 and it was dead simple to hit 2800 MHz on a nothing special board with cheap DDR2-667 memory. It was Prime stable for 24 hours at 2809 MHz. Not too shabby at this price point. I'd definitely recommend using DDR2-800 memory if you can afford it. The 667 memory was holding me back. Not sure if this link will work ( or is allowed ) but you can read about my adventures here:
