http://www.edg3.co.uk/snatch/Strange_Computer_Cases.rar - MagicBobert, on 10/12/2007, -2/+55The R2D2 and Tie Fighter one's were unique, but the rest just look like those stupid, flashy, off-the-shelf case mods to the point of ridiculousness.
And the coffee maker is clearly a 'shop. - kuribo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+43"And the coffee maker is clearly a 'shop."
Too bad. I thought maybe someone had FINALLY put the "Tab" key to good use. D'oh! - edg3, on 10/12/2007, -2/+31You lie! Digg rules all.
- nexus420, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19that looked like expanding foam to me....and where is the Bender case?
- Smeed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18A bunch of those are pretty common among the modding community (the plexi cases). Other than having more fan controllers than one will ever need, the first isnt all that impressive.
- Jonmad17, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2350 diggs and down. Do these people even have servers?
- VaporBro, on 10/26/2007, -0/+16thats what she said

Of course... it's non-functional as a computer, too old to be of any use and ran Irix to begin with. But hey, it makes espresso! - ezweave, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15@just1nd
I think the only appropriate reply is:
"NNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!" (forgive my use of caps, but don't forgive Lucas) - Junkyarddawg, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14Magicbobert, you break my heart! #6 was my life-long dream come true.
- compgeek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13I thought that the tie fighter setup was the best
- weasler7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11The worst thing I've seen is that fully functional barbie computer...
- theendlessnow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11It's foam and it's a joke from a long time ago.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10If you literally did kill for that case, you'd get the case and you'd probably get on the front page of digg! It's a 2 for 1!
- Junkyarddawg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I think this list is upstaged by this list:
http://gadgets.fosfor.se/the-top-10-weirdest-case-mods/
I'd *kill* for that WMD case, but the Miss Kanna one is just... disturbing. - kidford, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I wonder how the case fashioned from expanding foam insulation does on heat exchange - it seems like it might be a big problem! There better be a whole lot of air moving through that thing.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I hope this doesnt cause my site to go down either.
Its my current project called the Water Cabinet. Its 6 pc's in one case, all watercooled. Its pretty strange too, even though it is not finished yet, some of you might find it interesting.
http://dokumentamarble.com/WaterCabinet.html - Fbu72, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I'm sure it's foam
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6The archive with a bit higher resolution photos can be found here ( http://techfrenzy.net/files/cases.rar ), just in case you're interested.
- Jaroki, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Stumbled across this the other day, done before but still worth a look.

- romanboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3same here. i just have got to know the exact temperature of every cube inch inside my computer. call me crazy. :D
- crypthis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3hahaha, what is case no 3 made of? used bubblegum? lol
- srodolff, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Now. If only someone would combine the beer launching fridge with a computer case.
But instead of launching the beer, it just raises out of the top for instant refreshment. - jonr, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Bah. Still nobody has beaten this Acorn RiscPC from 1996. It had pizza oven and kitchen sink!
http://www.worldofwibble.com/aboutriscpc.html - smilesofkarli, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i thought that this was pretty funny to see. you have to wonder how each one functions...or if they do at all....
- TDR25, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Only with a PC are you able to do these neat things.
- KlayBorg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2There are some more brilliant cases like this at http://www.atomicmpc.com.au/.
I remember seeing the R2D2 case featured in the magazine (an Australian PC magazine) as a part of their hotbox competition each month. There is a great Modding community present in Australian, and some amazing cases can also be found at: http://pcdb.overclockers.com.au/gallery.php?type=pagev another Australian Modding site. - Tenoq, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Pretty lame except for R2D2 and Tie Fighter, as others have same.
Hell, I've seen better mods at local LANs! - FatherG, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Hell yes. thanks for that link. I have one of those R2D2 coolers that Pepsi released a few years ago, and have been wanting to turn it into a case. This should be a great leaping-off point; thanks again.
- dampeal, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Alright.. Where's the Mystery Machine case mod at?
- JCDenton513, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2What most people do with there cars is add "performance" items that they think will make their car perform better but is usually set up wrong or the car couldn't even utilize the performance item because it won't actually reach those race conditions.
What case modders do is an art form. They know it won't make their computer faster or perform better. It's building a sculpture and adding some silicon to it.
If Michelangelo was living today and decided to throw a computer in the Statue of David, would you call it a pointless waist of time and money? - Torpov, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Looks like expanding foam, and I think I remember seeing it as insulation for buildings.
- Soulglow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2that messageboard is on fire
- IntellEJent, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2In one magazine (the name of which I forget), there was an article about turning an HP laserjet printer into a computer case. Ahh, so many types of [odd] computer cases! :)
- VioletArrows, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3*can't stop staring at the first one* Shiny buttons and dials.... @_@
- tgunner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Well it was down..... making me look bad here techfrenzy!
- Boghiu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2[techfrenzy] : Sorry, won't happen again.
Oh look, tgunner, you're getting some sort of a connection. - Just1nD, on 10/12/2007, -8/+9star wars is over rated. if i can go one week without a star wars speaker, computer, or chewy blowup doll article on digg, you would see tears of joy.
- Kr4t05, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3If I'm not completely mistaken, R2D2 (#5) was built by an acquaintance I know. The full case mod log can be found here.
http://forums.pcapex.com/completed_worklogs/45326-project_r2_d2_pc.html - DreamVsPs2, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5R2D2 is my fav.
- merkk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3First one is definitely my favorite :)
- rocktopotomus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1that coffee case mod is soooooo bad. the 2 pics are from 2 totally different angles! and you can clearly see blurred spots on the sides of the case. who ps'd this? a 12 year old?
- dinobot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I was hoping to see the horrible WOOD macbook-to-desktop conversion...
- drewrussell2011, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Late night player all the way, baby.
- eeege, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I miss Yoshi's case mod segments on Screensavers. :-(
My favorite will always be the Millenium Falcon. - RedStateRetard, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Avast and AVG thinks that site is filled with spy-ware. Get lost douchebag. All you do is SPAM that site.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2@xxx420xxx:
Agreed. Any case that also functions as a desk is awesome. Even better if you can fold it up for the road. - nuttz981, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Here's some neat setups: http://www.popular-pics.com/pictures.aspx?photoid=463
