- DaviDTC, on 07/15/2009, -0/+47Going to suck when you realize you forgot your putters cover at the previous hole.
- sathias, on 07/15/2009, -0/+19A waste of resources? Do you have any idea how barren and unpopulated the Nullabor is? There is basically one hole each town, its a way of breaking up a long drive (pun not intended)
- beastieboy13, on 07/15/2009, -0/+14I got to play the first hole early, and I shot 72.
- chicagojack, on 07/15/2009, -1/+13Wonder what the twighlight rates are
- crossmr, on 07/15/2009, -0/+7Record breaking? I feel any record for a golf course should involve a continuous course..otherwise what is to stop them from putting a hole in india and one in the US and saying "That's as long as you can get!"
- Mothh, on 07/15/2009, -0/+6...iet in here... can you hear the echo?
- Sideshowslob, on 07/15/2009, -2/+8Somehow I doubt this will be a successful venture. Playing a hole a day? So let's see, that's nearly 3 weeks to finish a game of golf. That seems like the type of game I might play once in a lifetime.
- GregLoire, on 07/15/2009, -0/+6It's not like they developed the entire 850-mile strip. They're just separate holes spread out from each other. You could accomplish the same thing by driving to different golf courses and just doing a single hole at each one. This is pure marketing.
- skit4king, on 07/15/2009, -0/+5Get to the chopper!! ...We have a golf game today
- healy13, on 07/15/2009, -0/+5At least i'll get to spread my beers out over a few days and not have the last 3 holes show up on my scorecard as 10s.
- ericthesalmon, on 07/15/2009, -0/+5Hole is on Pluto's moon Hydra, it long par 3.
- 4rp4n3t, on 07/15/2009, -1/+6I think you're kinda missing the point. That route along the south coast is a popular tourist route anyway. Now you can play golf while you go sight seeing.
- dmcbride6, on 07/15/2009, -0/+4I doubt this will stay in business too long (unless ofcourse it is just some wealthy owner who isnt trying to profit).
Gimmicky at best.... - CoD4, on 07/15/2009, -0/+4no strip clubs is a bad thing dumbass
- jrod03, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3actually, hit the nail right on the head...once in a lifetime experience
- bigmhanns, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3this would be so legit if you had to make that drive anyway. im sure driving through the outback could get boring, but if you had a golf hole ever 50 miles it would definitely give you something to look forward to.
- bryano, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3...you hear the echo?
- dexter311, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3After being a kid in a car driving on a family trip from Adelaide to Perth many years ago, this is a great idea! It's already a pretty popular tourist drive, and the times we did stop I can remember some of the most awesome scenery, particularly on the coast at the Great Australian Bight. Definitely a good way for people to break up their trip, could potentially reduce driver fatigue-related accidents too with some breaks along the way.
- HeaveN, on 07/15/2009, -0/+3So dumb... its only 1 normal golf hole in different towns... pretty lame.
- doublefelix, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2*****, does this mean I need to bring my caddy along when I go walkabout.
- markw351, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2Awesome idea. Instead of a stubbie per hole, you could drink a whole slab per hole!
- sathias, on 07/15/2009, -0/+2Don't picture the standard sort of lush golf course that you see PGA events being played on. Here are some pics of a golf course at Cooper Pedy in central South Australia to give you an idea of an outback golf course.

- JoeHague, on 07/15/2009, -1/+3I hope they don't have any of those silly no-playing through rules at that course/
- inactive, on 07/15/2009, -1/+3At least the area won't get crowded with strip malls, strip clubs, airstrips, thugs, and pollution. keeping urban development away from an area is no waste of resources.
- projectstartrek, on 07/27/2009, -0/+1This reminds me of Futurama...
- funkedup, on 07/15/2009, -0/+1I'm pretty sure that the owner of this 850 mile golf course is wealthy...
- longbow486, on 07/17/2009, -0/+1@sathias
*****... did you see where my ball landed? - dmcbride6, on 07/17/2009, -0/+1obviously...that wasn't the distinction I was making though.
- inactive, on 07/15/2009, -5/+2Probably the most horrible waste of land ever.
- diulei, on 07/15/2009, -11/+7I'll admit golf is fun, but damn, what a waste of land and resources.
- kalosnycta, on 07/15/2009, -5/+1I think he's talking about the grass and non-native landscaping they'll probably introduce to build this golf course, and the water they'll have to use to keep it green, not to mention the fossil fuels that every single golfer will have to gratuitously burn to travel from hole to hole. On a regular golf course that might not be much, but it adds up over 800+ miles. In short, just because they're not using Nullabor's resources doesn't mean they're not using resources.
- inactive, on 07/15/2009, -5/+1That would be so savage if someone gets a hole-in-one.
- inactive, on 07/15/2009, -20/+1It's quiet in here... can you hear the echo?
