- athlonmj, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14Actually, the perfect golf swing is tapping the B-key (or Z) and then waiting for the swing meter to line up exactly with the horizontal white line.
Guaranteed 300+ yard drives every time.

- Vertabreaker, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11No matter how many times I could watch that, I would still swing the club like Happy Gilmore.
- RoryQ, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Good site too worth checking out the rest of the videos
- Rickard, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14Wonderful. Now every 36 handicapper in front of me will:
1. Place a leaf, small stone och twig in front of the ball.
2. Position the club between the ball and the object from step 1.
3. Stand with the body parallel to this line.
4. Pick up the club.
5. Spend 2 minutes checking the grip.
6. Use the club to make sure the feet, the knees, the hip and the shoulders are parallel to the target.
7. Put down the club on the ground to make sure the right foot is placed at a right angle to the line of flight.
8. Move the club over to the left foot and make sure it's slightly open.
9. Pick up the club and make sure there's a hand width between the body and the club.
11. Place the club in centre of the chest and tilt slightly to make sure they have the correct shoulder position.
12. Do the waggle.
13. Pick up the club again and practice rotation movement by holding the club by the chest and rotating.
14. Swing.
15. Move ahead 50 yards and repeat.- guimonkey, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7I love a six hour round of golf.
- CraigB12, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3It doesn't matter how many of these videos you watch, you can't get better by performing all these systematic tasks. I played golf in high school and continue to play for college, and one thing i've learned is that everyone swings differently according to their body type. Some people turn their wrists over and it works for them, others it doesnt, some people slide instead of pivoting and that works for them. You need to work at it and find out what works for you, and then practice that because watching videos and golfing once a week doesn't do anything to help you get better.
- Moly, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3This is balderdash. If you watch on Sunday, you will note that the golfers who are successful have swings that look a certain way. In addition, there is a marked difference between the good swing of a good golfer, the bad swing of a good golfer, the good and bad swings of high ameteurs, low ameteurs, etc.
Physics, physiology, psychology, eye-hand coordination all are a critical part of improving your game. Your brain naturally tries to compensate for your flaws (a great example of this is if you watch your backswing in tight slow motion and your grip is shut you will unconsciously ungrip and regrip the club at the top. You won't even know you did it, but the evidence is right there on film).
There are numerous suggestions, videos, and books on how to fix various portions of your game, or your swing in general, including a few that I own, re-read regularly, and buy for other people who want help. However, NOTHING will help you improve your game like
1) Paying a pro to teach you
2) Beating balls at the range regularly (say every other day)
3) Practicing your short game (including putting) regularly (alternate with 2)
4) Goto 1
Playing is for fun. Practice is for getting better. - CraigB12, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1That is absolutely rediculous. You're saying that if everyone swung exactly like tiger woods, then they could have the success he has. What works for him may not work for me, and what works for me probably wouldn't work for you. We all have different bone structures and different shaped body parts, so one swing doesn't work for everyone. Comfort is everything, and if you're constantly thinking that you need to have your right thumb here and your legs this far apart then you wont hit the ball the way you should. There are a few key things that everyone does the same, but to say that every swing on the tour is that same is absolutely idiotic.
To start out you need a structured coach to teach you everything you SHOULD do, and then develope that into something comfortable for you. - tdowling, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Case in point: Chi Chi Rodriguez
- szembek, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Jim Furyk swings differently from anybody I've seen on tour.
- weirdone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1furyk, fuzzy zoeller, stadler...
john daly...all awkward swings.
everyone's swings look the same to you because you don't know what you're looking at. If an instructor looks at these swings, he will notice a dozen things different between each golfer's swing.

- briguymaine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@ Rickard
that will be me 50 yards infront of you. I suck but getting better.
This is what I was told. Back straight, butt out, eyes on the ball. Swing. See where the ball goes consistantly left or right, adjust your stance to compensate.- szembek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Don't adjust your stance to compensate. If you slice the ball everytime you don't want to just aim left, you have to fix the problem that is causing the slice.
- Knots, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6there is no "perfect" golf swing, ask Jim Furyk
- Rickard, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Furyk's swing is kind of like a solar eclipse. If you look straight at it, you can go blind.
- CraigB12, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1@knots1
This is exactly what i said above, but in a lot fewer words.
- JeffSpecolli, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Nice site, not sure how that would help anyone. I've found the best instruction from brianmanzella.com he has a nice forum with video answers, its really helped my game.
- josegutz, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2Perfect Golf swing:
Press X + left toggle aim + Hold down A + rapidly tap right trigger until meter gets to about 65% full then release A....- szembek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1No moron, you just use the left analog stick to swing and then rapidly hit L1 to use turbo.
- vankai, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1has anyone seen charles barkley's swing? his is far from a perfect golf swing, its actually quite hilarious.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYnlo-dwPXs- Mace37, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1He looks like he was shot mid-swing
- MysticSavage, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've never seen a full-body dry heave done with a golf club until I saw Charles.
- tdowling, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Just a piece of advice for those really looking to improve their golf game: read Harvey Penick's books. This video is all right, but it will only get you to a certain point.
- Akuinnen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The video is no substitute for taking lessons from a pro and regular practice at the driving range. Without lessons you will probably end up fustrated.
- lordbal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Anyone have a mirror of this? I love playing golf.
- luuneetoon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2a golf forum with some good instructional videos
http://www.golftank.org - sark121, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0They got the baseball grip right, but #2 was an interlocking grip and #1 was the overlapping Varden grip, not warden! This guy had a nice swing for someone who learned in the slammer. Not like Barkley who swings like he's falling out of a tree!
- mil8, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0w0rd! nice slam sark!
- mil8, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1bogus... swing don't mean sh!t...it's all about what happens six inches before and after impact on the ball. How else can you explain the success of unorthodox swings of Daly, etc.??
The truth of golf is by-far the best golf video ever made. http://www.ajgolf.com/videos.html - franksgarage, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Video provides good instruction for the basics.
However, I think it is worthwhile to add that many weekend golfers start their downswing with a tense, violent motion, ruining their chance of making solid contact. The top of the swing is a critical transition point and should quietly lead into a smooth downswing. Thinking "light and lazy" at the top is a good strategy to promote this feeling.
Frank from http://www.LearnAboutGolf.com - biddessa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nice indeed. Are you people blind to vote for THIS?
- topicnation, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Thanks a lot! I don't like such articles.
- PAmit, on 04/07/2008, -0/+1Very good information but there is nothing like a personal training with a pro.
Check out useful reviews for golf swing training equipment: http://www.my-golf-tournament-gifts.com/golf-swing ... - macdee1823, on 06/06/2008, -0/+1The video isn't very in-depth, but to be honest, the simpler it makes the better. Too many people worry about every single element in their swing and this just causes complication and tension within the body.
I agree with you PAmit. There's no substitute for a one on one session with a personal golf tutor. It's absolutely ideal for the beginner especially to have such lessons, as it promotes a good basis for them to build upon.
