- Forbiddendonut, on 05/16/2009, -1/+88Almost kills a fan? I doubt that ball had enough power to go through a piece of paper
- inactive, on 05/16/2009, -0/+82I'm not very familiar with the sport of golf. Is it customary for spectators to stand in front of the golfer when they swing? Doesn't seem like a good idea, to me.
- LenzM, on 05/15/2009, -1/+70That is the ugliest swing I've ever seen.
- inactive, on 05/16/2009, -0/+37On sensatsionalist-headline Digg, I'm surprised it didn't say "Charles Barkley unsuccessfully murders defenseless boy in front of family".
- subliminali, on 05/16/2009, -3/+39man i love chuck. charles barkley is the most entertaining athlete/announcer of our generation whether he intended to be or not.
- netwraythe, on 05/15/2009, -5/+34Wow, can't believe noone has said it yet . . .
"Tha's turruhble . . . " - ghatid, on 05/16/2009, -2/+23Something exciting happened in golf!
- Sail3, on 08/04/2009, -1/+19Usually there aren't spectators for someone who shanks it at a 45 degree angle, so this is a unique situation.
- RoroCo, on 05/16/2009, -0/+17It has actually gotten better lately... Sadly...
- inactive, on 05/16/2009, -0/+16....he just about turned and aimed at the camera..
- timtastic, on 05/16/2009, -2/+16Those parentheses were (almost) necessary.
- wizzroom, on 05/16/2009, -1/+15wtf was he doing aiming at the crowd??
- LowRentDiggs, on 05/16/2009, -0/+11I don't care if he got half a club on it. A driven golf ball to the head hurts.
- luke374, on 05/16/2009, -0/+10This wins the prize for worst swing ever http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s50K65PNeBU
... but it's still Barkley. - jba68, on 05/16/2009, -0/+8someone's bitter
- bci84, on 05/16/2009, -0/+8He was probably thinking about getting another bj.
- crazzy88ss, on 05/16/2009, -0/+7I know! I'll stop filming exactly .5 seconds after the action stops!
- bratterscain, on 05/16/2009, -0/+7u mad.
- TheClassic, on 05/16/2009, -0/+7Considering how goofy his swing is, its amazing how (relatively nice) his warmup swing looks.
- matt0009, on 05/16/2009, -1/+7Considering how goofy that swing is, its hard to believe that man was at one time an elite athlete.
- Dou6, on 05/16/2009, -0/+6I just don't understand how he can still be that bad at golf. I am terrible at golf, average playing once a year, and I can still generally hit a ball off the tee and up into the air, not just shank it off to the side. How can this happen consistently to someone who seems to spend a lot of time playing golf. I mean, this guy was a professional athlete on top of it. Golf is a hard ass game, but hitting the ball off the tee isn't that damn hard.
- PaulieMac, on 05/16/2009, -0/+5lol, that's a classic.
- speel, on 05/16/2009, -0/+5We can dance if we want to
we can leave your friends behind,
cause if friends don't dance and if they don't dance
well they're no friends of mine
I say, we can go where we want to,
a place they will never find,
and we can act like we come from out of this world
leave the real one far behind
We can go where we want to,
the night is young and so am I.
we can dress real neat from our hats to our feet
then surprise 'em with a victory cry
Say, we act if we want to,
and we know nobody will,
and you can act real rude and totally remove
in fact you act like an imbicile - DirtyBinLV, on 05/16/2009, -0/+4The crazy thing is that he bets thousands of dollars on that swing. When he took his practice swing, I thought to myself "wow..Charles has really been working on his game. He no longer does that crouching stutter thing they used to make fun of on TV"...then he took his real swing.
- fluxion, on 05/16/2009, -0/+4that was actually one of his better ones...

its like he's scared of golf balls or something. - dlllb, on 05/16/2009, -0/+4Did you mean: Is Charles Barkley retired?
- jackd42o, on 05/16/2009, -0/+4Ugliest swing in the history of golf. Never have I seen someone 'balk' on a downswing.
- llopez1223, on 05/16/2009, -0/+4Leave Charles Alone!
- Myztry, on 05/16/2009, -0/+4If you place yourself in the line of fire, you have to expect to cop the occasional shot...
Worse are the people who stand on corners watching car rallies... - sleeknerve, on 05/16/2009, -0/+4"what a knucklehead"
- black27696, on 05/16/2009, -0/+3Have you been there too? Because I have. It sucks.
- mastercosby, on 05/16/2009, -0/+3Looks like there's gonna be a second season of the Haney Project if this keeps up lol.
- Tyshpix, on 05/16/2009, -0/+3I thought he gave up the drinking?
- RickScarf, on 05/16/2009, -0/+3Excuse me but I believe your ball landed on MY FOOT
- Couchy, on 05/16/2009, -0/+3ahahah
he shoulda gone to the driving range to warm up - Topkill, on 05/16/2009, -0/+3Lets see you take a golf ball to the face Brak and then you can say how it doesn't hurt that bad.
- EricAnderton, on 05/16/2009, -0/+3That guy's voice... I kept thinking he was going to say "I am Jack's lack of golfing talent."
- ewertz, on 05/16/2009, -0/+3Your instincts are basically right on this one, although it's not a statistically frequent event. I've been to numerous tournaments and it still gives me the willies to stand in front of even the pros.
But then again, a few years ago I had my chin grazed by a certified ball-crushing dickwad that they gave us to fill-out our threesome. He drove an unannounced second ball off the tee from about 40 feet behind me. Inch and a half away from losing half my teeth, and six inches away from instant death.
You do NOT make what mistake twice. I won't even stand in front of a pro anymore. - inactive, on 05/16/2009, -1/+4There's a lot of youtube videos of Charles Barkley's terrible golf swing. This one has 700,000 views.
Charles Barkley Golf Swing Disaster - Slow Motion
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DFtoeQlO0Ho&fea ... - HouseofEl, on 05/16/2009, -0/+3Shouldn't this read "stupid spectator stands in the wrong ***** place while golfer tees off"? Yeah it happens to be Charles Barkley and he's got a hideous wing, but any golf fan should know better than to stand in that area. Looks like he's got his kids with him too. Why do i get the feeling that this ***** would have sued Barkley if the kid had been hit.
- xgkx, on 05/16/2009, -0/+3Who gives a *****. This is what happens when we have a culture that celebrates luck over talent.
So you can play a stupid game and make a king's ransom while people with real talent have to beg for their dignity. - robdiggity, on 05/16/2009, -0/+3Yeah I think it's more likely that he just sucks.
- chieflbm, on 05/16/2009, -0/+3I've been hit in the leg by a golf ball before. I limped for a few days. That ***** hurts. I can't imagine getting tagged in the neck. DAMN. Give the guy a break.
- richirwin, on 05/16/2009, -0/+3Peter Noone, Herman's Hermits.
- gilbertj9, on 05/16/2009, -3/+6I dont give a ***** about you
- gixxer600, on 05/16/2009, -0/+3that was like a baseball swing for a pop up
- python56, on 05/16/2009, -0/+3Getting struck in the neck is actually a pretty big deal, it's not *that* sensationalist.
- centran, on 05/16/2009, -0/+3If the normal person goes golfing then no. You do not stand in front of the golfer or even to the side. This is not so much because of what happened in the video but because it is considered rude to distract the golfer(which includes standing in their site lines).
However, in a tournament they have an audience. This audience needs to stand somewhere and there is not much room around the tee off box. They will usually put a rope around the entire tee off box except for the front and stopping before the fare way. As you can see, it can be dangerous to be standing towards the front if the golfer slices the ball. At an amateur contest you would be insane to stand where those people where but at a professional tournament you have a sense of safety because you expect even the last place golfer to be a great golfer. - collution, on 05/16/2009, -0/+3Considering he's an Auburn Alumni and he hit a guy with an Alabama hat on, i'd say this was intentional.
