World's largest digital cameras: 1.4 gigapixels, 2Gb per picture

pan-starrs.ifa.hawaii.edu — When they're built, they'll be 40 centimetres square. The Pan-STARRS project will use them to simulate a 3.6-metre telescope, as part of a project to map the sky in more detail than ever before.
