Contribution to society: Zero - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -19/+181This guy's ego is bigger than his IQ
- robbh66, on 10/12/2007, -15/+146This guy really failed to wow me with his intelligence. That and he utterly failed in his attempt at appearing to be humble with his intelligence.
- SillyRabbits, on 10/12/2007, -3/+117Excellent example of a Ferrari engine in a Yugo. Nice to know he has all that horsepower...too bad he isn't doing anything with it. For some reason he reminds me of all the old high school athletes sitting in the bars saying how they could have made it big if they tried....
- beatmonger, on 10/12/2007, -12/+103Abusing reply here, just thought this was worth posting up top for insight.
As k0gaion says below, he holds a fellowship at a think tank for intelligent design. I think that pretty much explains his anti-academia rant.

Guess that goes to show that geniuses can be idiots too. - Kylde, on 10/17/2007, -16/+104Just another erudite megalomaniac
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -19/+100Intelligence cannot be measured.
- Berkana, on 10/12/2007, -8/+78True. He was so subtly arrogant, while feigning humility. The problem with the stance he took was that if he were to encounter a greater intelligence, he wouldn't recognize it, since he was set to judge intelligence by his own metric of what he conjectures "ultimate reality" to be. The fact that he was told that he set the record and has lived so long affirming this belief that there is no one smarter than him through his own confirmation biases has left him blind.
- frant1c, on 10/12/2007, -6/+74This is inaccurate. The only organization that does standardized IQ testings is Mensa. This guy did a test in a newspaper, which can (and probably is) be just some random bunch of puzzles collected by a journalist.
- joshua5, on 10/12/2007, -2/+59I think the jury is still out on this guy. If you've ever had a conversation with an intelligent person, I find myself generally leaving that conversation thinking "wow that guy was really smart." I don't get that with this guy which is unusual for someone claiming such a high IQ.
It seems like he has excuses for anything that could validate or measure his intelligence claims.
--He said he scored off the charts in an IQ test that was going to be put in Guinness Book of Records but then Guinness decided to drop that category. oops.
--He claims that one time he was just thinking and came up with some amazing idea to rework the concept of neural networks. Then he had to breakup a fight and forgot everything. oops.
--He hates academia and often clashed with schools, apparently getting expelled once, which is supposedly why he was never 'discovered' there. oops.
--There were a couple things he said where even I could say "wait that doesn't sound right." I wouldn't expect to be able to second guess a genius.
That documentary also sucked. It just explained his life story rather than provide any sort of validation short of baseless claims. Plus it just showed his ugly big head the whole time, what about old photographs, his high school science project, other accomplishments? Oh right - he doesn't have any. oops.
The only thing preventing me from calling BS outright is his wikipedia page. I'm going to wait to see what he does with his superior intellect before making a decision. If he does something, great, if not, then either it is BS or hes doing a disservice for not sharing his gift with humanity. - jabberwock1977, on 10/12/2007, -3/+53Having a high IQ means you are good at IQ tests.
- Gizza, on 10/12/2007, -11/+56IQs are cyclical, once you reach 200 ur effectively back to 0.
- DesScorp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+44Ummm, this guy is not the "smartest". Marilyn Vos Savant (wife of Dr. Robert Jarvik, of the artificial heart program) has had her IQ "clocked" at up to beyond 230. Pretty sure there are others brighter than this guy, too.
- zachlutz, on 10/12/2007, -8/+50I'm pretty sure my crazy ex-gf had a higher IQ. Still, ***** of logic only takes you so far...she was crazy. ;-)
Further, if this guy were really so smart, he'd start bouncing at a strip club. - seanieb, on 10/12/2007, -2/+42He uses every point of his IQ to make excuses for his own short comings in life.
- rauz, on 10/12/2007, -4/+43How much good is a high IQ going to get you if your ego is bigger than the planet you live on?
He comes off as a bragging teenager. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+44What I don't get is this: he claims to all this great intelligence, and then he goes on to say that he would like to work at something other than a bouncer, but he can't figure out how to get employed as a member of a think-tank? Is the "smartest man in the world" retarded? If you are that smart there are dozens of universities and private companies that would love to have you onboard and pay you a six figure salary just to sit around and report in once a week with a new idea you had.
Perhaps a side effect of having an IQ above 200 is that you become a total douchebag. - mickeyknoxxx, on 10/12/2007, -7/+44Brains and braun.
Boy did I get jipped. I have neither. - Bigbro69, on 10/12/2007, -4/+40Hope it isn't English.
- bebop717, on 10/12/2007, -0/+35I question his intelligence, according to the wikipedia site it says he married.
- Freshjive787, on 10/12/2007, -5/+36he says "the stupid person thinks hes as smart or smarter than the smart person... and that makes him stupid."
good job describing yourself, *****. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+33How do I overclock my IQ?

In the latter parts he really starts sounding creepy in his desires for the future of mankind.
A great watch. - edilclyde, on 10/12/2007, -2/+30oh come on, don't insult yourself..
- k0gaion, on 10/12/2007, -5/+30"Langan and his wife Dr. Gina Langan (nee LoSasso) are both fellows of the International Society for Complexity, Information and Design (ISCID), a think tank of the intelligent design movement."
Supporter of intelligent design vs IQ 195. Makes you think (that he might be not so smart after all). - AriaStar, on 10/12/2007, -8/+32This man's IQ being the highest doesn't mean he's the world's smartest person. I'd like to see him take on Stephen Hawking. If the highest IQ makes him the smartest man, then he'd be smarter than Hawking, but he'd be creamed.
- robbh66, on 10/12/2007, -12/+36Yes, I believe there was another group that wanted to control people's reproduction by weeding out the weak and dumb. Hmm, what were they called? Oh yeah- Nazis.
This guy obviously didn't spend much of all that time in the Library reading about that little segment of history. - tdowling, on 10/12/2007, -0/+22"The only organization that does standardized IQ testings is Mensa"
Any psychologist can give an IQ test too. And there are lots of nationally-standardized assessments out there...Stanford-Binet, WAIS (Wechsler), DAS, CAS, etc. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+24Wait... am I supposed to envy this guy?
What a ***** *****. - drewhenson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19According to Guiness Book of Records, the smartest person in the world is Marilyn vos Savant who scored IQ 228 Terman as a 10 year old. This would, according to recent research, correspond to about IQ 185 at adult age. That score is, at least, surpassed by the chess player Bobby Fisher (187).
No one knows who is the smartest person that ever lived, that is for sure. But some psychologists believe that William James Sidis reached the maximum capacity possible for a human. The same may apply for eg., the seer of visions, Emanuel Swedenborg, who was so intelligent that he turned mad in the later part of his life.
In the Buzan's Book of Mental World Records, the highest IQ score ever attained is assigned to the history's greatest universal genius Leonardo da Vinci. The estimate is a nearly unbelievable adult IQ of 220 St-Bin! - crumbelievable, on 10/12/2007, -8/+27He's got the smarm of the world's smartest person down pat.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+21Hes not too smart considering hes part of the Intelligent Design Movement.
- signal15, on 10/12/2007, -5/+21The guy believes in intelligent design, yet advocates the use of selective breeding programs. So, he basically wants to accelerate the pace of human evolution by using selective breeding, but somehow still believes in ID?
Was that IQ test on the back of a cereal box? - brundlefly76, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16I just had a nightmare I met this guy in a bar and couldn't get away from his stories.
- joeydoo, on 10/12/2007, -13/+28What a complete *****.
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15"what is the size of your brain"
"to know that I would have to stick my head into a body of water and measure the displacement."
..no, that would be the size of your SKULL, not your brain. Moron! - championchap, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16One of these tests you find through pop up ads and mySpace quizes was it?
- Ray301, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15IQ only measures so much of a person's abilities... what makes a successful person is the combination of their intelligence, drive, motivation, determination....
He sounds like he's got the smarts, but not the drive, motivation, and determination to make use of his brain. - Sep11insidejob, on 10/12/2007, -7/+20Little guy syndrome
- Yoshiler, on 10/12/2007, -12/+25I don't really think he has such a huge ego. I mean, they're asking him to talk about his intelligence... So he IS talking about it.
Just because he recognizes the fact that he's very smart doesn't make him an egomaniac. And if you don't think he's humble, why is he still working at a bar and not retiring to do his thinking and have people worship him?
And I'm sure he's taken more tests than just the 48-question one. - championchap, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14From what I understood, IQ was more about the ability to learn rather than what you actually have learned.
Just because you have a high IQ it dosnt mean you have to use it. - Ligeia, on 10/12/2007, -10/+23Surely this is a farce....
- seanieb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Looks like he's put every single point of his IQ towards making excuses for his own failings.
- Ikean, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11I think the ONLY reason this guy has come up with a theory like that of his "Manhattan Project" idea, is to be able to have the excuse "The only reason I'm not actually out there doing something with my knowledge, is because the GOVERNMENT IS AFRAID OF HOW SMART I AM". He's more manipulative than intelligent and I believe spends equally more time defending his intelligence than proving it.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13all bouncers i know are megalomaniacs. i comes with the job i guess, tough guy etc.
- cracell, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13If this guy is on the top of the IQ ladder, I want off.
- Berkana, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14. . . ah, but the ultra high IQ is all the better for appreciating how you've squandered it all.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12He is smart but seems flawed. His first sentences about binary logic show something out of whack. Not all reasoning or decision-making is black or white. It's not always one or zero. If he were truly wise, he wouldn't be saying that. He seems to see the world as a hostile place, them against me, every man's out for himself, there's no gray. Perhaps he has a quick intelligence, but if it is grounded in fear, or hatred or disdain, he's like Karl Rove: you're all ants to be crushed. His social value is negative. I imagine his occupation as a bouncer is satisfying to him, because where else can one get paid to offer violence against people, and resolve some of those childhood issues about powerlessness and use of force to ensure your own security. This guy's no Eric Hoffer, who was a longshoreman and genius. I'm not sure what he is, except certainly a real dick.
- ribs15183, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13This video just seems to be an intelligent guy making excuses as to why he hasn't lived up to his gift.
- Ocelot13, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12will they have blonde hair and blue eyes?
