- kevinmotel, on 10/12/2007, -8/+113I dunno about largest, but I think John Lennon was the tallest.
- reevolutn, on 10/12/2007, -5/+58same midget hand that was holding that asian hornet/wasp thing?
- Fighterspj, on 10/12/2007, -5/+48We need a picture section.
- calpaully, on 10/12/2007, -6/+43I wish they would have mentioned on the page whether it is male or female.
- ZippidyDoo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+35Timon and Pumba would love it.
- k2thelew, on 10/12/2007, -2/+28I could take him.
- sishgupta, on 10/12/2007, -10/+29This would be an amazing pet if it wasn't terrified of it.
- tateswayz91, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17I think I'd soil myself if I found one of those in my house.
- Kardde, on 10/12/2007, -4/+18Holy crap on a cracker.
Imagine climbing into bed and finding that in your sheets. - Vinthian, on 10/12/2007, -9/+21where are the males? O_o
- UMDWei, on 10/12/2007, -4/+15For some reason, I hear the transformers transforming sound when I look at the pictures.
- Jergens, on 10/12/2007, -4/+15That's a scary dog! Get away, dog!
I'm Brian Fellow! - MrWhoopass, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12Would you like to kill bugs? Join the Mobile Infantry and save the Galaxy. Service guarantees citizenship. Would you like to know more?
- armbar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9numbaonestunna, I didn't think it was possible for anyone to make a comment so absolutely stupid. Just go get back in bed and stay there, please.

- altosaxon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8For shame dante... why would you say something like that, now we all know that you are an idiot.
- crimsonmac, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I'm pretty sure this is the world's largest Beetle:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_Beetle - kkDonut, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Thats really ***** gross.
- tidu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6...with a shovel
- dolemite5005, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6If you click the "back" button at the bottom of the page and then click the thumbnail of the next beetle in line, you'll see it's even larger.
I would post the link but Digg is stripping out the underscore and breaking it.
I didn't go through the whole list but perhaps there's even larger ones? - slasherx, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7@royall64
Reminds me more of that god awful movie the mummy. And that's the stuff I like to forget. :P - Micfri, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4If that thing went airborne, I would be running really ***** fast away from it.
- Kamill85, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8You wont be terrified for much longer, large insects require very high amount of oxygen. Biggest ones live only in the Rain Forest or other large forests... Millions years ago Insects were about size of your cat or dog. With current Co2 level, which increases pretty quickly, those insects might be gone soon.
- cjmal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4thanks. now I don't feel like climbing into my bed.
- CountC, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I WILL CONSUME THE LIVING AND THE DEAD
- triggerfinger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4The heavily armored adults are so large that when flying, they produce a sound akin to a toy helicopter in flight.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goliathus - CaptShmo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Goliath vs. Wasp... round 1... FIGHT!
- mt4055, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I would not want to hold this sucker in my hand. Gets up to 46mm long. Yeow!
http://beetlespace.wz.cz/e_Cyclommatus_asahinai.html - zerodive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4THAT'S A HUGE BITCH!
- gemadouble, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Ewww. I never liked insects.
- rodo75005, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Throw this in the girls tent ...
- Antha, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Bugs give me the horrors. Living in South Carolina and playing roach golf kind of mellowed me a bit, but not enough apparently. Jaysus, that thing is honkin ass big. I'd flail about and squeal if it got close to me. And then run.
- BirkBum, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That site is sexist...were is the male pic?
- MonkeyMonk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Damn, that's two bugs this week that have made me silently shriek like a little girl. Anybody else catch the last ep. of House, where they pulled the 25-ft. tapeworm out of that kid?
So glad I live in South Dakota, where the bigger the bugs are, the harder they freeze in our -20 degree winters. That thing would probably be used as a hockey puck. - stahlight, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Can you imagine the mess that would make when you smashed it with a rolled up magazine? =)
- tdskate, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That's ***** disgusting.
- armbar, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4That's weird and I don't like it!
- kryptogrowl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Where's a giant shoe when you need one.
- yeahaboutthat, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I dunno. I think I'd try to "leash" it, you know--like you see some folks do with honey bees and the like. Take it to the mall, scare the ***** out of small children and the elderly--really show it off. Hell, it freaks me out, but I'd make it my bitch!
- Jemulov, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I do believe you are looking for 10 inches, Imagine a 10 foot millipede and ask yourself. "How the ***** can a millipede this big, and slow I might add, survive?"
- donolsen1155, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Oooo...the green filled kind
Slimy yet satisfying - RevMark, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Looks like one of those fire shooting bugs in Starship Troopers.
But I bet it's good eatin'. - washcapsfan37, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Suddenly I'm reminded of the recent King Kong remake, we're they fall down into the ravine full of giant insects...
I won't be sleeping well tonight. - gincarnated, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3That thing sends shivers down my spine. I hate bugs.
- nlevend, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3And I like Wisconsin: Cold winters=dead bugs that won't live to get that big.
- twinklyJesus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Ringo gained weight?
- mossrock, on 10/01/2008, -0/+1buried for not liking bugs :)
- amoeba, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3It's also the tastiest ;-)
But the Japanese kabuto-mushi, it's my preference
