Loud Music = Drinking More = ***** fat chicks - Sornos, on 09/17/2008, -1/+56The term "music" is, of course, used loosely.
- Jektal, on 09/17/2008, -1/+45Alternate title: Why to Play Loud Music at Your Parties
- BigManOnCampus, on 09/17/2008, -5/+47This is why I hate bars and I love lounges. The only way I can understand why bars are successful in the U.S. is to assume that the only people going there are terrible conversationalists. The few times I've been to them, I've been proven correct.
- inactive, on 09/17/2008, -1/+42You can't talk when there's loud music so you drink. I've known this since I was 12.
- flickrdoodle, on 09/17/2008, -0/+29alt, alt title: Why Not to play loud music at your parties so your mates won't drink up all your booze. :)
Also, hollering over loud music dries out the mouth and throat and surely ups the drink count. - TheBigBad, on 09/17/2008, -4/+32You overlook the fact that people tend to seem like bad conversationalists when they don't want to converse with you.
- inactive, on 09/17/2008, -2/+27The problem is loud music is likely to make me avoid a bar in the first place. It's hard to drunkenly pontificate when you've got a sound system blaring at about the level of a jet engine.
- TsuruchiBrian, on 09/18/2008, -1/+21Finally some REAL SCIENCE. I'm sick of all this Large Hadron Collider *****.
- Bodom2005, on 09/17/2008, -1/+16 I always had a natural dislike for bars with loud music. Which leads us to the next logical step : if people kept away from such places, the owners would eventually realize that by lowering the music they d have more people flocking to their places.
Unless ofcourse we are all surrounded by idiots who dont realize that talking to other people while on your night out is actually of any value. - thecheatah, on 09/17/2008, -2/+15Better yet y dont you forget the friends, and the parties, just drink by yourself.
- magneteye, on 09/17/2008, -0/+12AKA: Why Hitting the Front Page of Digg Increases Server Failure.
- rupprupp29, on 09/18/2008, -0/+11So when my parents were always telling me to turn down the music... they were really just looking out for me!?
- Jennefah, on 09/17/2008, -0/+7Lounges are better... more likeliness of a pool table and less likeliness of getting drinks spilled on you or sleazy men trying to eat your face without asking first.
- smoothmann, on 09/17/2008, -1/+8Go learn how to type kid.....
And how the ***** is obama gonna stop your stupid friends from being stupid? - Calcheesmo, on 09/17/2008, -0/+7It seems like they should've tested this the other way to see if it was true. Start the music loud, and then turn it down and see if it slows the drinking. This seems inaccurate because the more drunk people get, the faster they can down it, has nothing to do with the music from what they are saying. If I drink with no music, the more beers I have, the faster they go down.
- johndavidjack, on 09/18/2008, -0/+6Never had herpes and bacon before?
You, my friend, are missing out... - SkinnyPuppy, on 09/18/2008, -0/+6herpes and/or bacon.
- UNDERSTAR, on 09/18/2008, -0/+5=PROFIT!
- lolmax, on 09/18/2008, -0/+5Sometimes you have to drink more to forget that you are out listening to some ***** rap song like soldier boy
- inactive, on 09/18/2008, -2/+6Whoever let grandma/arlene in, put her to bed, please.
- inactive, on 09/18/2008, -0/+4You havent been to many bars then. All the one's ive been to play the music uber loud
- Escapade, on 09/17/2008, -1/+5There's an easy factor involved... The more drunk you are, the more awesome it is... the louder the music gets.
- ixid, on 09/18/2008, -0/+4This kind of ***** is why it's hard to find places that are actually worth going out to - you're gouged for an entry fee, it's too dark to see anyone and too loud to hear them. Once you're looking for more than an adolescent grope because *giggle* *giggle* the loudness forced closeness with someone ugly it's a pretty ***** night out. The UK needs to enforce venues to adopt a more relaxed European feel, it might just help the huge alcohol and aggression problems along the way.
- PhoenixAvatar2, on 09/18/2008, -2/+6You haven't lived until you've seen Bohemian Rhapsody turned into a drinking song - and joined in.
- inactive, on 09/18/2008, -0/+4http://i35.tinypic.com/e9vwhk.jpg
- Natealus, on 09/18/2008, -1/+5This article isn't true at all. Alcohol increases alcohol consumption.
- borez, on 09/18/2008, -0/+4You really haven't got the hang of Digg yet... have you mate.
- flickrdoodle, on 09/18/2008, -0/+4Huh? What did you say?
- dsmx, on 09/17/2008, -0/+4It's not that loud it never goes all the way to 11.
- bdptcob, on 09/17/2008, -0/+3Classic! Normally stupid posts like this are annoying, but for some reason, this made me laugh.
- phoenixrue, on 09/17/2008, -0/+3Ah, it all makes so much sense now. Glad I have a study to fall back on when I drink one too many. ;)
- WhiteCloud, on 09/18/2008, -0/+3WTF?
- MovieQuest, on 09/18/2008, -0/+3I can't hear you over your unnecessarily loud music, *****.
- lolwutpear, on 09/18/2008, -0/+3oh phew, i was afraid i had to get HIV before i was allowed to drink
- Kahnza, on 09/18/2008, -1/+4If its too loud to hold a conversation, see you later.
Otherwise I better be pretty high and the bitches have to want me. - inactive, on 09/18/2008, -1/+4***** obnoxious, too.
Pisses me off when I can't hear the people I'm at the bar with. Kinda defeats the purpose of going out if they're just gonna drown all your convo out with ***** requests. - stradf, on 09/17/2008, -0/+2Ironic, you just typed that drunk.
- johndavidjack, on 09/18/2008, -0/+2I think it's the women at bars increase that alcohol consumption; not music.
- verbaldouching, on 09/18/2008, -0/+2Just trying to drink away the endless Nickleback tunes the are playing relentlessly.
- phoenixrue, on 09/17/2008, -0/+2plus, how is it that in the beginning of the night, everyone stays clear of the germ infested bar-mix, but at the end of the night we're all chomping down?
Ah that's right, impaired judgment has many forms... - borez, on 09/18/2008, -0/+2I understand why turning up the volume will increase alcohol intake for a bar, but that's not the reason why we do it.
- alexkball, on 09/18/2008, -0/+2Oh right like any of the nerds on Digg actually go out to bars.
- lornali, on 09/18/2008, -1/+3Alcohol consumption needs no aids
- JMellissa, on 09/18/2008, -0/+2When the music is loud enough that it is difficult to talk, there's little left to do besides drink.
- samimy, on 09/18/2008, -1/+3ok let's be honest to each other.
I believe a good music which you love it, a nice melody could be very enjoyable with a moderate volume at home or inside a car.
but honestly what the hell is the garbage are you listening in the Bars and night clubs? is that music? ohh God ! That is a piece of crap ***** that ***** up ur ears and your nerve system. Can you imagine what that high dB (Sound Pressure) which comes from the BASS systems Amplifiers ,is doing with your nerve system? if people know how harmful is it to listen those very loud crap musics that sounds like a hell, then they would never go those stupid clubs again.
May be not you, but honestly we are living between many idiots in this world. - Escapade, on 09/17/2008, -1/+3i'm going to take a random guess that you are someone who is not for obamabiden, and trying to falsely represent a person that would be, and promote an inaccurate seterotype that those people are illiterate.
in fact, i just talked myself into it. you obviously either type frantically with your elbows, or i'm just plain right. either way, you might be a douchebag. - inactive, on 09/18/2008, -0/+2who invited the grandma?
- martin308, on 09/18/2008, -0/+2Not only is your comment *****, but your website is even worse.....
- Technopundit, on 09/18/2008, -0/+1Now why did I already know this?
