- Dimensio, on 04/16/2008, -2/+8Why do you assume that all critics of "Expelled! No Intelligence Allowed" are "libs"?
Additionally, noted conservative radio talk host Laura Schlessinger has been known to criticize movies that she has admittedly not seen. It would appear that criticizing unseen movies is not an exclusively "liberal" tactic. - raymondmarble, on 04/16/2008, -2/+7KJeffV, your rant is misdirected.
PZ knows all about the movie. He was interviewed for, and is prominently featured in the movie. The movie has been extensively pre-screened and analyzed. PZ attempted to legitimately sit through a screening, and was asked to leave. The film makers, as well as those who have managed to see the movie have been talking and writing about it non-stop. By now, the lies, distortions, and mis-information that both the film puts forth, and the film makers have spread, are vast and documented.
That you had do deal with some intolerant Moore fans is regrettable, but also not relevant to this movie or its critics. - raymondmarble, on 04/16/2008, -0/+4He wasn't asked to leave mid-viewing, he signed up for screening tickets, using his real name, and was asked to leave the theater while in line, before the movie started. Those he attended with were allowed entry.
- lhbaker, on 04/16/2008, -1/+3With such a neutral and unbiased opinion, I can't figure out why you're not still reviewing movies.
- inactive, on 04/16/2008, -3/+2I don't make that assumption; YOU made the assumption—at least that's what you wrote—I was referring to libs exclusively, but I wrote that it is TYPICAL . . . which it is.
When an article appears about Schlessinger, we'll discuss her & what she does/doesn't do. Of course, prudent persons can discern whether someone—anyone—is pre-critiquing a movie/book or merely expressing an opinion about a specific issue, but you knew that already. - inactive, on 04/16/2008, -3/+2I'll take you at your word since I await a personal movie viewing myself, and otherwise I have no real knowledge about who has screened/not screened it other than what's been written/claimed. Scrooge sez PZ hasn't seen it; you claim PZ was asked to leave mid-viewing. It APPEARS he has an axe to grind, but who hasn't? I find almost any "pre-almost anything" revulsive.
- inactive, on 04/17/2008, -2/+1I was quoting you, Ray.
- inactive, on 04/16/2008, -3/+2I've always found that the quickest way to get an answer is to ask a question.
- inactive, on 04/16/2008, -3/+2"...was NOT referring to libs exclusively...."
- inactive, on 04/16/2008, -9/+5So typical of libs: Rant and rave, but don't "review!" Back in my days as movie-reviewer, the worst part of the job was having to sit thru Leftist tripe—eg, Michael Moore's stuff—but that's what it takes to stay informed and perform the task. In those days, Ellenelles would approach me and ask, "Did you actually watch this movie?" Very telling.
