- wezman2, on 07/07/2009, -2/+30Painting != Drawing
- mhuggins, on 07/07/2009, -12/+40Why is this being buried? Picture != Painting is a true statement and would return true. I'm very disappointed by digg right now. :(
- LJU1492, on 07/07/2009, -0/+27we can build it faster and better, we have the technology
- FlashBazbo, on 07/07/2009, -0/+26I'm having trouble parsing drchimp's emoticon.
- digitalpencil, on 07/07/2009, -2/+28doubtful.. we may be ravaging the planet and killing one another but we're a damned resourceful bunch. i'd expect our shelf-life will extend WAY beyond 350yrs, whether you'd still want to be around is a different question.
- inactive, on 07/07/2009, -1/+27But ≠ = !=
so it doesn't matter. - BlackOculus, on 07/07/2009, -5/+30He does rook a rir ronery

- digitalpencil, on 07/07/2009, -3/+23i've always wanted to eat an animal on the brink of extinction.. like the last panda bear or something, i mean ***** it, it's not like it can mate with itself so why the ***** not?

- TheEggAndI, on 07/07/2009, -0/+19is it just me or does the dodo, as a species, look like they are all drunk?
it just looks like a disheveled shmoe, and i can only imagine it didnt actually walk, but rather, staggered everywhere. - rchargel, on 07/07/2009, -2/+21The only way that mosquitoes, rats, and cockroaches are going extinct is if we do.
- jsp123, on 07/07/2009, -2/+20"journals are full of reports regarding the bad taste and tough meat of the dodo"

(I don't think the girl with the stomach is a dodo bird, but she adds a nice touch) - RGB0099CC, on 07/07/2009, -7/+24Now I'm not trying to start a theological debate here but I'm confused. Why is it that animals go extinct instead of being saved by God? It seems like that (?) miracles would kick in and enable these species to survive.. I mean.. after all it wouldn't be exactly anything new considering how He created them and why would God create something only to kill them all off?
- Navicerts, on 07/07/2009, -1/+18Yeah, im not so sure that you can solve "human intervention" problems with more drastic human intervention.
- _skin_, on 07/07/2009, -3/+19tinypic sucks and I hope your link goes down.
- Moralogic, on 07/07/2009, -0/+15I think we need to bring this bird back to life, we have the technology.
- MelissaOfTroy, on 07/07/2009, -3/+18I'm a vegetarian but I think if I could go back in time I would definitely try dodo before it was too late.
- fungusmonkey, on 07/07/2009, -0/+15To put it quite simply: extinction is part of evolution. It's that whole "survival of the fittest" thing. When a species is faced with a rapid change in their ecosystem or environment, they either adapt to that change and evolve or their species dies out and makes way for another species that can adapt and evolve.
Given a slow enough change, nearly any animal can adapt to a change in it's environment. Evolution doesn't happen overnight, it takes decades (if not centuries or much longer) to see an evolutionary change in action. When a species goes extinct, it's more often a sudden change that does them in, something that nothing shy of spontaneous genetic mutation (which is astronomically rare) can combat. - BossKey, on 07/07/2009, -0/+15Yes, love the appropriate headlin

- liljerk, on 07/07/2009, -0/+14i wonder how many other species we'll never know about went extinct in the last billion years or so, and then i just forget about it and go back to looking at porn
