You know it's going to be used to help simulate sex. Porn drives technology. - HeavyMetaler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5We are the operators....
- fletchowns, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Then don't digg it, don't read it, and don't comment on it like you've done.
- fletchowns, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4You'll be able to download a celebrity into your fleshlight. Oh the horror.
- Orbatos, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Umm, this is a tabloid for hardcore geeks.
- revmitcz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I think people come to digg not just for the links but for the discussion. As has been said many times before, much of the links on digg are culled from a number of sources that get the information at least a few hours before digg gets them. The traffic sticks around for the community aspects. The discussion of "what if" and "one day...." are enticing to the future-dreaming geek elite :)
- TheThirdWheel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I can sleep on my hand all night and still pour my OJ with a numb hand. Why does a robot need super-sensitive fingers to pour a drink? Actually, why do we need robots to pour drinks?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Hey, it wasn't my idea.
Google "changing the feel of communication" if you could use a laugh... that is, unless you're at work. - AlexApetrei, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2True as that may be, remote surgery is also an aplication of this technology.
the internet was developed so that the army had a way to comunicate without interuptions, you being able to blog or whatnot on it is a bonus from that.
It's realy not a matter of who did what for whom, it's a matter of how this tecnology could be used to aid mankind, in all possible ways.
But yeah, people are much more likely to pay for something that grants gratification now not in the future, and the adult industry is always open to experimentation.
Go Jenna J Go :D - lame_duck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2YES! One step closer to a Persocom! I'll take one Chi please.
- lame_duck, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3The man has a point. We are the operators.
- kurtu5, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I seriously doubt its as sensitive as our finger tips. A recent study that I can't recall, indicated that the finger can detect a single hydrogen atom on the surface of a regular crystal face. Abe Lincoln's image is about 10^6 times larger than that.
- richardiscool, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1How long before Apple use this in the iPod then?
- JorgeGT, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The poor robot is just an example :_(
Be nice with robots ! - CutRock, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's a good thing that we have developed technology to such an extent that it is on par with the human body... Now we can finally have a robot poor water without spilling a drop!
- rgranados, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1So robots can pour drinks without spilling a drop, but I probably wouldn't be able to talk to it and get some free drinks out of it.
- vgcf, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0We don't need robots to pour drinks, we have a funnel.
- thefinger, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Imho, the stories on Digg's front page are getting less and less interesting all the time, more theoretical (could-bes, what-ifs), like a tabloid for hardcore geeks. Probably says more about the site's operators than about the readership.
- rompom7, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Last time I checked, a vibrator (which is probably the most cutting edge technology in the sex industry) isn't all that too high tech.
- gcube9x, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0we also have women to pour the beer.

What is Digg?
