- Ghostwo, on 10/27/2009, -0/+10Until a thousand of them swarm out of the forest, and eat you alive.
- rocknog, on 10/27/2009, -0/+5Now there's something I wanna see - a dinosaur I can kick. What with all the vicious carnivores who will shred the flesh from my bones at the drop of a hat, I want at least one dinosaur that I can feel I have dominion over.
- expert01, on 10/27/2009, -0/+3Aye karamba, ess a Chihuauasaurus!
- rags140, on 10/27/2009, -0/+3That's one dinosaur that could have been my pet.....
- Myztry, on 10/27/2009, -1/+4How do they decide a fossil is from a fully grown dinosaur?
Even with living humans such determinations require hormone testing and the like. Perhaps it's merely the largest specimen they have found as I don't see the fossils being so easily tested. - andrewinspace, on 10/27/2009, -0/+2Those ***** ate that family in one of the Jurassic Park movies.
- Yellowphant, on 10/27/2009, -1/+3¡Yo quiero Bronto Burger!
- spookyttws, on 10/27/2009, -0/+2So, if we believe what people like Sarah Palin do, this dinosaur must have been one of the main source of protein for early humans six thousand years ago.
- insanebrain, on 10/27/2009, -0/+1>So, if we believe what people like Sarah Palin do...
... then you are as stupid as they are. - peestandingup, on 10/27/2009, -0/+1I bet thats exactly what they did to their prey back then too.
- diggdong, on 10/27/2009, -0/+1hola, es bano?
- GavinZac, on 10/27/2009, -0/+1I think it specifically aludes to that (questionable) claim in the article - it states that analysis suggests that the specimens were full grown, so its something they thought about, rather than simple assuming its new as those other researchers claim happened with Nanotyrannus etc.
- hsadear, on 10/27/2009, -0/+1i thought it said that it weighs less than a teacup.
- SpoonBender13, on 10/27/2009, -0/+1Beware! http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2009/10/09 ...
- Myztry, on 10/27/2009, -0/+1I see the 3rd party declaration but it's not actually bone they are studying. All they really have to go off is the shape.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fossilisation#Types_o ... - hereticoftruth, on 10/27/2009, -0/+1Even the fleas have fleas. I am sure smaller ones may be found. When you see chickens foraging in the woods, you see their true ancestry coming out.
- kd1s, on 10/27/2009, -0/+1I know, I can see pet potential here.
- Sebach, on 10/27/2009, -0/+1I believe those were "Compies" (Compsognathus) according to the book. But until they started eating people, they did look cute.
- anenemyairship, on 10/27/2009, -0/+1"I shall call him Squishy. And he shall be mine. And he shall be my Squishy"
- milkmage, on 10/27/2009, -0/+1i think they can also tell if the animal has stopped growing by analyzing the bones.. but of course, these are fossils so they might not be able to ...
or I could just RTFA
A recent analysis of the fossil leg bones showed not only that the dinosaur is a new species but that the largest of the specimens are full-grown adults. - tedc, on 10/27/2009, -0/+1Hmm...maybe they can tell by examining how much wear there has been on the teeth or something like that? Just speculating. Any paleontologists out there?
- BerateBirthers, on 11/02/2009, -0/+0North American dinosaur found? But I thought everybody already knew about Pat Robertson.
