- duckarrowtypes, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6It's a schooner, stupid head.
- theblooms, on 10/10/2007, -9/+15At least it's not the 'WWI COLOR PHOTOS!' for the 7 trillionth time.
- serpanterra, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8Can someone make a digg story of the first colour photograph that actually looked like something?
- gerbalblaste, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5despite your trolling, here is a picture taken about 15 years later:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Duhauron1877.jp ... - msfayzer, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5It's an upside down bow. Probably his clan's tartan which is why it is sort of hard to see.
- wdfadude, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Looks like a diamond flapping its wings (if gemstones actually had wings, that is).
- SkippySkip, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Yes. Digg for the Calvin & Hobbes reference.
- chewbacca77, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Wow. Now THAT's an obscure Calvin and Hobbes reference.
- Dugg2Death, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3don't know why you're digging him down. I've got no clue what that's supposed to be.
- dtele, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Digg kills another server lol
The first permanent color photograph, taken by James Clerk Maxwell in 1861.
Maxwell was credited with the discovery that colour photographs could be formed using red, green, and blue filters. He had the photographer Thomas Sutton photograph a tartan ribbon three times, each time with a different colour filter over the lens. The three images were developed and then projected onto a screen with three different projectors, each equipped with the same colour filter used to take its image. When brought into focus, the three images formed a full colour image. The three photographic plates now reside in a small museum at 14 India Street, Edinburgh, the house where Maxwell was born.

- hammerpants, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Digg hasn't let me down. Somehow, "first color photograph" is about the Iraq war. Thanks for bringing it full circle.
- thcobbs, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Good thing I did it for you.
- Punisher2K, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Taping a Polaroid camera to a house phone does not a camera phone make.
- ArmandoM, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Umm...I doubt you're going to find many people who don't think war sucks. Unfortunately however sometimes it's necessary and justified.
Maybe not this time, but sometimes. - chyya, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2everyone who decided to comment on these series of comments are all dumbasses.
- capiCrimm, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2except the previous poster.

- BuckCynnie, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1Pretty cool stuff, I bought one of those but ***** if I can find the damn thing now. Costs a bit much, also, so I don't recommend buying one unless you are REALLY good, cause once you fall off, you can spend a day looking for it.
- rishdeep, on 10/10/2007, -5/+2Is that a bunny?
- tizz66, on 10/10/2007, -4/+1Perhaps because neither of you read the text that goes with the picture?

- doctorfungi, on 10/10/2007, -9/+4Not only did you post a redundant, wasteful comment... but you didn't even hit the reply button. Poor form.
- capiCrimm, on 10/10/2007, -6/+1jest comment? It was almost as hilarious as upside down text, if that's what you meant.
