The Privacy Paradox: We Want Our Privacy But Give it Away
bits.blogs.nytimes.com — We all cherish our privacy. Then we go and divulge everything about ourselves on Facebook and happily load up on tracking devices like GPS navigators and cellphones. - Rabbittt, on 07/04/2008, -0/+4It's about choice, not privacy or being secretive.. People will freely choose such things as being open, carrying GPS, etc., because it fits within their lifestyle and it's a choice they make for themselves, of their own free will. If they are forced to carry a GPS device, for instance, then it goes to being told what to do, as in opposition to authoritarianism. This isn't a paradox, it's apples and oranges.
