- dlan4327, on 04/30/2009, -0/+9I came here looking for this exact comment & I wasn't disappointed.
- protogenxl, on 04/30/2009, -0/+7"No Honey I don't know why it keeps driving into strip clubs"
- mmaine, on 04/30/2009, -1/+8FTA:"He is now working on a commercial version that is even easier to use."
This is great news.
I hope that they will be able to keep the cost down so that it can be available to all that need it.
- maxattaxam, on 04/30/2009, -0/+6No, they've captured him and are exploiting the technology.
- asgardshill, on 04/30/2009, -1/+7Dugg for a subject close to my heart, buried for Daily Fail. So it's a push.
One beep for yes, two for no. - boozinf, on 04/30/2009, -0/+5That's telekinesis, Kyle.
- Kurosu, on 04/30/2009, -0/+4Woot for Stephen Hawking?
- inactive, on 04/30/2009, -0/+4So the name of the wheelchair is gonna be cerebro?
- anexanhume, on 04/30/2009, -0/+4Awesome development, but I have to wonder if the chair starts shaking violently if the occupant imagines fapping.

- kevintootill, on 04/30/2009, -1/+4So you couldn't see the lifeless spirit in his eyes
- Oea420, on 04/30/2009, -0/+3Uhhh
It doesn't work on telepathy, bro - cbeach, on 04/30/2009, -1/+3This would be amazing if the implementation wasn't so clumsy. User must sit there and wait until the blue dot highlights their chosen destination. It iterates over -all- possible destinations.
This would be infuriatingly slow in practice. It's completely different to a system that genuinely -responds to thought- and is triggered into action by the user. - Justus09, on 04/30/2009, -0/+2Don't fall asleep in it lol.

- hamface, on 04/30/2009, -0/+1YEAH RIGHT
- firewall1, on 04/30/2009, -0/+1Exactly what Stephen Hawking needs!
Now if they can find a way to create a better input so that he can 'type' faster then 3 words/min. - bjs3171, on 04/30/2009, -0/+1TAKE THAT MAYANS!
- gllopc, on 04/30/2009, -0/+1There must be a difference between controlling a video game and controlling a wheelchair. Plus, I tried a ski simulator that you controlled with your mind, and if that's the same technology these wheelchairs are gonna be flying off of cliffs everywhere.
- LightUrple, on 04/30/2009, -0/+1Why were the guy's eyes blocked out in all the photos??
- bjs3171, on 04/30/2009, -0/+1yes. it's called progression of technology. this seems slightly more complex than keeping balance on a tight rope.
- HentaiJeff, on 04/30/2009, -0/+1no I think he'd at least break escape velocity.
- GrooTheWanderer, on 04/30/2009, -0/+1Could be dangerous. With his power of thought, he'd probably catapult it into orbit.
- kathie89, on 04/30/2009, -2/+3this is amazing
- sarcasteak, on 04/30/2009, -0/+1Did you miss the massive amount of headgear the person in the wheelchair is wearing?
- hicksw24, on 04/30/2009, -0/+0Thats a pretty cool use of technology.
Thinking of how I can apply this to an XBOX game.................. - kevintootill, on 04/30/2009, -0/+0Amazing, this could change the world, just be careful if driving it while pissed
- TigerStar337, on 04/30/2009, -1/+1What happens if the rider is drunk? How can the chair read your thoughts and not a person standing close by?
Just wondering? - Oea420, on 04/30/2009, -1/+1Erm, we don't have complete control over our thoughts.
I'm sure that's in place as a safety mechanism for this primitive device. You wouldn't want to be next to a flight of stairs and accidentally think about going down them. - HamatoKameko, on 04/30/2009, -2/+1...TJ, I'm afraid you fail at X-Men knowledge. Cerebro is a big round room that amplifies psychic powers. It is not a wheelchair.
- RUFM, on 04/30/2009, -1/+0thats awesome...great idea of the wheelchair...only problem is it only handles 2 thoughts a minute which means you cant go very far with it in a short period of time...hope when he gets the commercial version of it it will be a little faster :)...btw if anyone could go to my blog and digg it would be very much appreciated...the link to my blog is http://digg.com/business_finance/Screen_Printing_P ...
- sarcasteak, on 04/30/2009, -1/+0One sentence paragraphs ftl?
