Yeah, right. - mountainweb, on 09/12/2008, -0/+4http://earthquake.usgs.gov/eqcenter/recenteqsww/Qu ... These faults are massive and the potential for destruction is huge.
- stuffradio, on 09/12/2008, -0/+3I'm sure you can be if you really tried hard!
- Chillbilly, on 09/12/2008, -1/+4Please clarify. Are you talking about the old yesterday? or the new yesterday created by the LHC?

- Jeffler, on 09/12/2008, -1/+4Anyone else read that as Rapture and go WTF?
- Iztikeit, on 09/12/2008, -0/+2The warmer the planet, the more earthquakes. Do not try to put that into any context, it is merely a standalone fact.
7.9 is huge. - inactive, on 09/12/2008, -1/+3The Chinese sure are thinning the herd.
- w3ber, on 09/13/2008, -0/+2i don't like you!
- NexusV2, on 09/12/2008, -0/+2Wooooo, wonder what improvements will be in 8.0?
- monkeyrun, on 09/12/2008, -1/+3I wonder what's your reason to "go to war with them"?
How old are you? - guabancex, on 09/12/2008, -0/+2Twenty bucks says your are.
- harlowsmonkeys, on 09/12/2008, -2/+4When this rupture happens, will those who are not Christians be reft behind?
- mugupo, on 09/12/2008, -1/+2I think the best that china earthquake scientist can do is make a series of research on the Sichuan Earthquake faults, pinpoint the location, once you lock the location and see how far the faults can go to, then you know what area are red zone, and further digg in to that, you might even able to make a estimated time for the next quake. China is already look into that, they had invite us to their country for research and just recently launch a orbit satellite to monitor the earthquake faults and other disaster like flood.

I work for U.S. Geological Survey Earthquake Hazard Team. - AnotherDiggGuy, on 09/12/2008, -1/+24 major earthquakes yesterday...

- Lucifugerising, on 09/12/2008, -1/+2Theres a Quake 7 and it came out in China...
I guess 5 and 6 must have really sucked. - frankb00th, on 09/12/2008, -1/+2Certain geopolitical cues portent to an almost inevitable confrontation ar some point in the future. Energy looks like a likely culprit. Let's hope however.
- insanebrain, on 09/12/2008, -2/+3Yeah. . the Americans have a new earthquake weapon ;)
- frankb00th, on 09/12/2008, -0/+1Loss of life maybe but damage ?
How ? - Elfin, on 09/12/2008, -0/+1dugg for reminding me of Hong Kong Phooey.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hong_Kong_Phooey - frankb00th, on 09/12/2008, -0/+1Wow thks for the link. Looks like this could be EXPENSIVE both in lives and destruction.
I truly hope they can avoid anything massive. - tflowholdings, on 09/12/2008, -0/+1I'm an American and I have inside information that we are the ones causing the earthquakes using HAARP. http://www.bariumblues.com/bertell_reveals_many_ne ...
- frankb00th, on 09/12/2008, -0/+1Fill the fault with nuke and detonate, in the hopes of taming the mighty tectonic plates !
Unfortunately, tectonic movements depend of factors that are almost impossible to predict
med to long term. There are symptoms that are indicators but the system is way too vast to be correctly figured out. Also, even if you know weeks in advance, you may cut down on casualties but buildings and infrastructures still get destroyed. If that fault is "waking" up, it's bound to be a very costly ride and little can be done to prevent that - liuite, on 09/13/2008, -0/+1If it hits near the Three Gorges Dam, 10 million lives will be at stake.
- frankb00th, on 09/12/2008, -1/+2Hello there China !
How's the post Olympics blues ?
We haven't heard much of late ......wassup ? - dandonia, on 09/13/2008, -0/+1I was honestly thinking that before I clicked you link...crazy/
- aptanalogy, on 09/12/2008, -0/+1I read that as Rapture, "major Rapture". When will Ryan learn to stop ***** with fault lines?
- frankb00th, on 09/12/2008, -1/+1Hmm they will give off an even more powerful aura of sadness and broken dreams ?
I don't know about your but mine is patronized mostly by people that have given up on all levels. - arkaycee, on 09/12/2008, -0/+0Form a government commission. They're good at fault finding.
- okaperkins, on 12/22/2008, -0/+0Take a horse-and-buggy ride through cobblestone streets of white columned mansions with the first known "widow's walks" (rooftop patios where ladies in hoop dresses would watch their husbands' ships come home). Add to that all kinds of water sports, top-notch golf courses, quaint eateries and great fishing;
