- inactive, on 07/06/2009, -1/+32your eating habits and your lack of exercise.
- Nboy514, on 07/06/2009, -1/+26This calls for a beer!

WHOOO-HOOO! - inactive, on 07/06/2009, -0/+12I think we're all aware that beer belly is just a silly name given to fatness, kind of like the freshman fifteen. Obviously being a freshman doesn't cause anyone to gain fifteen pounds, but eating a ton of delivery pizza does. Likewise, drinking a lot of beer (calories) will make you fat, just like eating a ton of anything will do.
- gtg008q, on 07/06/2009, -0/+11Why were there 5000 more women participants than men????
- Aethra, on 07/06/2009, -0/+8I'll drink to that.
- almondfilter3, on 07/06/2009, -1/+9Yet another useless study.
If you drink a lot of beer, you're pretty likely taking in more calories than people do who are thinner. Whether its from the beer directly, or the other things you're eating/drinking with it. Either way, obvious ***** that any remotely intelligent person can figure out. - thinkb4utype, on 07/05/2009, -2/+9Everything you know is wrong.

- pacerx, on 07/06/2009, -0/+5So you say that if you consume more calories than you burn in a day consistently, then you get fat? And it doesn't matter where the calories come from? And what you consume doesn't determine where the fat deposits are?
Fascinating! - inactive, on 07/06/2009, -0/+5Bush, Obama, the RIAA, the police
- Wreckage, on 07/06/2009, -0/+5Well can I least still blame my violent temper and poor choice in women on it?
- r0b1, on 07/06/2009, -0/+5VB is so much better. Why they don't send it over to the US I have no idea - Foster's is terrible.
- WinkyMcGee, on 07/06/2009, -0/+5So we needed to commission a study to prove that figures of speech aren't entirely accurate?
- randomerratum, on 07/06/2009, -0/+4No... it isn't.
It tastes like a can full of seltzer water and pennies.
...cheap though. - emjaymj, on 07/06/2009, -2/+6Not even close to correct. The energy in food is just a small aspect of nutrition. There's nothing "healthy" about living on delivery pizza, no matter how much exercise you get.
- solefald, on 07/06/2009, -0/+3up next: sleeping with ugly chicks is not triggered by beer goggles.
- thebeginning, on 07/06/2009, -0/+3Depending on your genetics, this realization is either going to be great, or really, really sucky.
- OleMissAMS, on 07/06/2009, -2/+5You do realize that a three mile run only burns about 500 calories, right?
Pizza has about 300 per slice.
Exercise, while necessary, is a pretty small slice of the pie. So to speak. - RiperSnifle, on 07/06/2009, -1/+3Fostiz. Autrawlian fo beei.
- Sherman901, on 07/06/2009, -0/+2Yeah, I don't think that logic is nearly as common as you wished it were.
Nice try at a joke, though. - bootrom, on 07/06/2009, -0/+2No-one in Australia drinks Fosters.. Such a terrible beer. We mostly drink Carlton Draught on tap or other nicer beers like James Squire and Coopers.
- angryredplanet, on 07/06/2009, -0/+2I concur that fosters is garbage. In addition to others listed above, try Cascade, Little Creatures or Redback. There are multiple brews under each flag, try any one for instant enjoyment.
- jurassiqpark, on 07/06/2009, -0/+2exercise pie is not good pie
- Hellahulla, on 07/06/2009, -0/+2We're grateful for Fosters here in Finland, it beats most of our nationally brewed piss.
- bail3yz, on 07/06/2009, -0/+2Yea its useless but its not like they spent 8 years studying this..... oh wait...
- zagatbuzz, on 07/06/2009, -0/+2As long as the beer can still rest on the belly, its still good
- Altair27, on 07/06/2009, -0/+2I know a guy who lives on fast food and drinks about a liter of dr. pepper every day. He gets almost no exercise--at least not nearly enough to make up for his eating habits. And yet he has the body of a cross country runner, skinny but not entirely without muscle.
I know another guy who runs 5 miles a day and is still a bit chubby.
Fact is, some people are lazy ***** who have good metabolism. Other people don't. You can't oversimplify it into "people who get off the couch" and "people who don't" - emjaymj, on 07/06/2009, -0/+2To be fair, gram for gram, ethanol has nearly twice as many calories as sugar. Especially since alcoholic beverages are the only food and drink that aren't required to show you the nutritional information, most people don't realize that the beer they're drinking probably has more calories than a can of cola. And people don't typically sit down with a six-pack of Pepsi and drink it all in a few hours...
- inactive, on 07/06/2009, -1/+3where the hell does my beer belly comes from then????
- inactive, on 07/06/2009, -0/+2There were more women willing to drink beer than men? Wtf?
- samcrut, on 07/06/2009, -0/+1Ladies Night. Chicks drink for free.
- Swipecat, on 07/06/2009, -0/+1They say "beer not linked to beer belly" after measuring hip-to-waist ratios -- but say it still makes you fat. So they're saying if beer doesn't give you a beer-belly then it will give you a fat arse. How reassuring.
- LeekMibles, on 07/06/2009, -0/+1Beer not linked to beer belly? Is that like saying more calories not linked to getting fat? o_0
- s4g4n, on 07/06/2009, -0/+1All those nights that Paris Hilton pumped her stomach were for nothing after all.
- rarefied, on 07/06/2009, -0/+1Actually, eating a lot of fatty meat to the exclusion of other things (except maybe some spinach or broccoli) will cause most people to become lean.
- thejackyl, on 07/06/2009, -0/+1But...what if one of your tires goes flat?
- Amadeus2490, on 07/06/2009, -0/+1If I were to put on weight, i'd stay skinny everywhere else except for my stomach. Do I win a prize for this?

That is a very high estimate for a three mile run, I calculated my three mile runs at closer to 300 calories.
However, it is easy enough to burn ~2000 calories a day exercising. Just gotta pick an exercise you enjoy, one that is also your hobby. It is easy for me to spend three to six hours on a day on a bicycle at a pace which burns about 600 calories an hour. I'm doing something fun.
If you are burning that many calories a day exercising then yes you can eat whatever you want. I avail myself to junk food from time to time, say maybe 4-5 meals a week. I'm in completely perfect health according to my doctor. Actually he thinks my cholesterol is a bit low actually. - Nextrix, on 07/06/2009, -0/+1A new study has just came out guys, that finds that we are spending too much money on studies to find out stuff we already know...
- Sherman901, on 07/06/2009, -0/+1No, you just have a good metabolism and very good genes AKA you're lucky.
- dandyrubich, on 07/06/2009, -0/+1HORRRRRAYYYY BEEEEEER!!!!
- Sherman901, on 07/06/2009, -0/+1Bud Light isn't bad for being cheap beer. I actually enjoy it, considering the alternative of Busch Light.
