- rolypolyman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"This is the hour when moonstruck poets know
What fungi sprout in Yuggoth and what scents
And tints of flowers fill Nithon's continents
Such as in no poor earthly garden blow."

- iWorks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1yet, we cannot get good images of pluto
- b2drb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's the death star...
- iWorks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Planet "Ten" not "X" for the non mac inhabitants
- Burgerman851, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1How does this fit in with evolutionary scientists' current vaporizations regarding the origin of the solar system? If that stellar-dust-disk theory is still in vogue, this really throws it off!
- mikedoth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I think I read about this a while back, but then it was called Planet X. They couldn't even tell if it was part of our solar system because it takes like 10+ years to rotate around the sun.
- mepcotterell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's definitley a monolith. I'm not joking.
- Nibi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's hemroids. Our Solar System has the 'roids
- orangetiki, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Isn't this supposed to be the extra planet they were talking about?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Buffy is hot.
she just resides way to far away from me. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Can you say old? That thing must have been there for at least 2 billion years.
- Casedot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Buffy???
They should have named it something cool like Zordon...or Rocksteady. - das7282, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I dugg this just for the hilarious comments. LOL! :)
- JAFFA, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0orangetiki: The new 'planet' they found has been named XENA (after the TV series) which may lead to confusion after this 'Buffy' ..... Sorry - i dont have a link.
+Digg - mistshadow2k4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Interesting. But, people - why would aliens want to invase Earth after all the crap we've done to it?
- jfritz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0off-kilter? Give me a break.

- void, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0RandallBe: its standards (dont worry, i wont bash you about the learning latin comment). Also for naming standards, what about the name your own star program? I can just see it now flying through space a few hundred years from now, "to your left you can see the 'arse muncher' star.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1omg naming it Buffy? god that is so stupid. we have better names then that. I forbid Buffy fans in naming a natural satellite, star, or anything. We have name standers People and Buffy is not one of them. Go back to school and learn Latin.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0and that other buffy is a cold bitch.
- madcat87, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Oh no.The Alien Invasion is coming :)

- oldcyborg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's a temporary name, and besides, I like Buffy. I think of wonderful things I could do with her.. LIke, Jump over this, Buff!! hehehe
It just shows you how many things are NOT that far off, that we never knew about....... Think about that....

ya - pijalu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Dr. Floyd: Its origin and purpose, still a total mystery."
- jasongetsdown, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is not planet ten. The tenth planet candidate that was talked about not so long ago is trans-Neptunian object 2003 UB313. It is thought to be larger than Pluto. 2004 XR190 is the object reported on here. It is only one fifth to half the size of Pluto.
- Sell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0FOOLS THAT IS MY HOME OMICRON PERSEI 8 AND I AM LURR IT'S EMPEROR!!!!! GUWAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!!!!
- psytek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0well its definitely not an alien space ship or mother ship, those usually just hover in one area and act as a dock for the smaller ships. What it could be though is an alien planet. It's orbit suggests a chaotic movement that would throw off the best of alien detection equipment. Maybe this point will act as a docking center for the attack of the milky way. Its orbit also suggest to me that if something uses its gravitational forces at a certain time from a certain angle that it could be used to "launch" projectiles or alien carrying crafts. (possibly anywhere in our galaxy)
- jasp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0In Soviet Russia, you don't find strange objects at the edge of the solar system, strange objects at the edge of the solar system find you.
- psytek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0and then there was digg

- ramsinks.com, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Good job science!! I'm glad we are finding more rock's and trash in deep space.. so, how are the people in New Orleans doing?
I know, we should spend billions to go out there and get close to this .. rock..
Good job. - psytek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0or not, i'm going to stick to staging ground
- N2EI, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Beware of Red Lectroids
- dutter, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0No no no, it's not a spaceship. It's a bullet.
Just wait til you see the size of the ship carrying the weapon that fired it. Yowza! - Skul, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Jasongetsdown is absolutely correct. Just for grins, the discoverers of UB313 nick-named it "Xena". Here's the fun part. "Xena" was found to have a 155 mile wide moon. You can see it coming now, the moon was dubbed "Gabrielle". Fortunately, the IAU is the governing body responsible for astronomical names. However, they could keep them.
