- lordsteve, on 09/08/2008, -0/+57best pic of Stephen ever
- sgtbutterscotch, on 09/08/2008, -0/+52I like how the first guy on the list of people other than Colbert to have their DNA digitized is Kevin Rose and he doesn't get any mention in the description.
- Burrito, on 09/08/2008, -1/+51I can think of no finer representative of humanity. Rub one out for America, Steven.
- H4adF1sh, on 09/09/2008, -1/+16Aside from Stephen Colbert and Kevin Rose, this list kind of sucks.
Especially the writers. Preserving the DNA of the guy who wrote Men in Black: the Series, the Clone Wars, and X-Men: the Animated Series?
Why not include some actual top-notch novelists and screenwriters.. maybe Toni Morrison or Cormac McCarthy?
Also, why isn't Shigeru Miyamoto on this list?
If aliens ever find this time capsule, they're going to think we were a race of dumbasses (except for colbert) - AmyVernon, on 09/08/2008, -3/+16That's just so frakkin' perfect.
- geneusutwerk, on 09/09/2008, -0/+13No scientists on the immortality drive?
Boooo - inactive, on 09/09/2008, -3/+16THANK GOD FOR STEPHEN COLBERT!!!!!!!!
How ironic that Americans have to watch a Comedy channel to get the news. 8(
"a recent study by the University of Pennsylvania's National Annenberg Election Survey, which said young viewers of "The Colbert Report" were more likely to answer questions about politics correctly than those who don't."

”Viewers of Jon Stewart's show are more likely to have completed four years of college than people who watch "The O'Reilly Factor," according to Nielsen Media Research."

Also, funny that after Jon Stewart appeared on Crossfire and outed them for not really being a debate show but just another right-wing extremist circus that is destroying American, CNN cancelled the show.
Thanks for that Jon.

Only a complete scumbag still listens to opinions from a whacked out drug addict on the radio, or a dildo using pervert and his screeching she-male cohort on FOX.
Now, that is the height of stupidity! - jeedf, on 09/09/2008, -0/+12Stephen Colbert's Alpha Squad 9: The Adventures of Tek Jansen Begin!
- OneLess, on 09/08/2008, -2/+13If you wanted to guarantee this making the front page, you should have mentioned Kevin Rose's DNA going up too in the description. I hope it makes it anyway, this is pretty awesome :)
- laserterd, on 09/09/2008, -1/+10it's stephen
- Impius, on 09/09/2008, -0/+9Truthiness In SPPPAAAACCCCEEEEE!!!!!
- AnarchoGoth, on 09/09/2008, -1/+8Save Jon Stewart! He's our most important Jew!
- jaxter2010, on 06/17/2009, -0/+7Hmmm....Kevin Rose, but not Bill Gates....somebodys pandering for diggs.
- aptanalogy, on 09/09/2008, -0/+7Dugg for the picture.
- bajesus, on 09/09/2008, -0/+6I think we have found the Tek Jansen origin story
- KingGorilla, on 09/09/2008, -0/+6Formula 401
- ignisatra, on 09/09/2008, -0/+5Am I the only one who noticed the gender imbalance?
- tidu, on 09/09/2008, -2/+7girls are stupid
- GDOG5, on 09/09/2008, -0/+5As if you wouldn't chose Phelps for the DNA of an athlete.
- BigRedCube, on 09/09/2008, -0/+4e
- TheR3dMenace, on 09/09/2008, -1/+4Pretty Good, but I think you missed the point of his crossfire appearance. It had less to do with right-wing extremism and more to do with partisan hackery... which, if you read any Palin article comments, you'll see a lot of people on here are guilty of too
- Aguyinachair, on 09/09/2008, -1/+4I can't believe no one mentioned that it says Kevin Rose's DNA is going up there too. I guess Colbert trumps all.
- luken355, on 09/09/2008, -0/+3Anybody have a link to the full size version of that pic? I lost the old one when I reformatted :(
- quasipolymath, on 09/09/2008, -0/+3I think that history will be the judge of X-Men: the Animated Series.
- soapandfoam, on 09/09/2008, -0/+3for athletes, why not Michael Jordan? the man who can defy gravity.
- carpeclunes, on 09/09/2008, -0/+3He swabs the inside of his cheek with a q-tip.
- drakenlot, on 09/09/2008, -0/+3That isn't a "Who's Who" list of great people, it's a "Who the hell is that?" list of obscure quasi-celebs. Exception is Colbert.
- kinseyincanada, on 09/09/2008, -0/+2no the height of stupidity is that the mist trusted news source in the United States is a comedy show, oh how journalism has fallen.
- lulzitsadigg, on 09/09/2008, -1/+3There aren't any kitchens in space
- khaavren, on 09/09/2008, -1/+3throw rocks at them
- mistergoomba, on 09/09/2008, -0/+2my thoughts exactly. this wasn't the list i expected
- samtpage, on 09/09/2008, -0/+2But will the new humanity get the joke or will they be the joke, like this humanity?
- drakenlot, on 09/09/2008, -0/+2Agreed, how about getting people who were dominating in their prime.
Like Wayne Gretzky, Gordie Howe, Michael Jordan, Jerry Rice, Brett Favre, Tiger Woods, etc.
I could go on for a long time. - PunkFenixJT, on 09/09/2008, -0/+2Dugg because a) Stephen Colbert's DNA being part of what could be mankind's last legacy is freaking awesome and b) I want to hear Kevin and Alex talk about this on diggnation as I want to hear what Kevin thinks of his DNA being left for aliens to find.
- drakenlot, on 09/09/2008, -0/+2Hey, being a Gladiator and writing MIB: The Series is helpful to the human race.
Now unsarcastically, the writer for Stargate SG-1 really did help the race, that's an awesome show. Easily the best out of the credits listed. - ansatsu29, on 09/09/2008, -0/+2Kevin Rose of Digg....yeah...shoot his DNA all the way to the Magellanic clouds...
- Gforce20, on 09/09/2008, -0/+2I was completely convinced this was fake until I read the comments.
- drakenlot, on 09/09/2008, -0/+1I'm more worried that the writers of Clone Wars are there, at least GH has a good story, or so I hear.
- MAARRS, on 09/11/2008, -0/+1Did you check out the list of 'Writers'!!!!! Hilarious!
The new world is gonna be a D&D lovers paradise. And the music is gonna suck too. - Iztikeit, on 09/09/2008, -0/+1It is not news, it is commentary about the commentary on news.
- bagboyrebel, on 09/09/2008, -0/+1That is probably the most bad-ass picture I have seen in a long time.
- Iztikeit, on 09/09/2008, -0/+1Toni Morrison? lol
- powatom, on 09/09/2008, -0/+1I have long been of the opinion that The Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galaxy is a prophetic text.
This confirms it. - drakenlot, on 09/09/2008, -0/+1Forgot about a?
- drakenlot, on 09/09/2008, -0/+1As long as they think that Colbert was our ruler, I'm fine with it.
- drakenlot, on 09/09/2008, -0/+1I was thinking as I read the list, that the future will be pretty boring.
The only people I've heard of on that list are Colbert, Rose and Tracy Hickman.
Seriously, they could've done a much better list, full of actual relavent people. - gordonj, on 09/09/2008, -1/+2That list of other people whose DNA will be sent up is a waste of time. Hmmm, tech entrepreneurs, athletes and film/tv writers. Couldn't go and find a nobel prize winner or anything? You know, someone who has actually done something useful for humanity?
- south409, on 09/09/2008, -0/+1Does anyone else think that this sounds a lot like Moonraker? After Garriott has his Colbert and Kevin Rose DNA he will probably kill the planet with nerve gas and start again. HE MUST BE STOPPED!
- bagboyrebel, on 09/09/2008, -0/+1http://img522.imageshack.us/img522/7711/colbertwow ...
