- ParanoiaAgent, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12It's all part of the Temporal Cold War. We clearly need to sling shot around a black hole, and prevent Rick Berman from being born.
- iteachgeeks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Khaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!
- userzig, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I can't believe nobody has linked to this yet.

Bad story, startrek.com lives! - hamster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Star Trek will never die.
- bluehouse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2still looks like hearsay and rumors to me. What about their MMO they been working on?
- macgabriel87, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1live long and prosper. shall i always be, always am, forever a trekkie
- MrFisty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Alright! Santa DID get my letter. Woo!
- HPisbetter, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1They'll probably keep it.
- duke_nate, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Its probobly going offline for a couple hours for maintinance. Someone got wind of the story and blew it completely out of proportion.
- zarathos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If a site as big as startrek.com is going offline, why is there no news of such on the site? And if it is there, why is it not easily found? I have dugg through there, and found no mention of the site going off-line...anybody got a link (other than the blog linked here and saveenterprise.com) that has more details/proof?
- adml_shake, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Could be a blessing in disguise. Startrek.com is owned by Paramount. If the Roddenberrys get domain ownership, maybe they could also get more control over the franchise. Berman could possibly get replaced!"
Berman is going to be replaced at the end of his contract..... - Amplix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I guess timing is everything :(

I'll digg this anyway. Just because it's sad - Optimus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2"StarTrek.com Going Offline? Could this be the end?"
Let's hope not. Trek rules. Visions of a brighter future for humanity rule. - artemus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've got faith... of the heayyyyrt. I'm going where my heart will take me...
- Sillybear, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Dammit Jim! I'm doctor, not a web designer!
- V-Spec, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
- VipeNess, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0LOL... that site uses mambo...
http://www.saveenterprise.com/content/administrator/ - digitalsin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I am pretty sure this is a hoax. StarTrek.com is intellectual property - it might not be updated indefinitely, but they aren't taking it offline entirely.
- NEGATiZE, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I can't freakin believe this! Star Trek has and will always be something to remember. This sounds like the beginning of the end. :(
- perseon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I guess this is a blessing in disguise. After Enterprise Star Trek seriously needs to regroup. And for the love of God, NO MORE Q!
Till then, TNG on Spike TV.
*cries, dries tears, cries some more* - dhakbar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"All we have left is MTV crap, and its sibling garbage. Makes me think this is done deliberately, as its too positive and we need to keep all Americans on those medicines and depressed so they dont actually do anything but buy products and work a lot.

HAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Yeah, Star Trek will be cancelled due to its incredibly positive effect on society; it prevents socially inept ***** like you from interacting with real people. - regedit2D, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It is real, I've read it on the official site, the forums, and a lot of other locations. I'd never actually visited the site in a long time, but it's still a shame. The Next Generation was a great show.
- MicahC, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Somewhere out there a vulcan has shed a tear.
- neopath, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This can't be real. No way.
- hominid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0*****
- bkofford, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0January 3rd, and it's still there.

- Jammerdelray, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0psst cough new movie coming out cough cough
- webpc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well it looks like G4 is buying some of Star Trek according to CNN, won't that be an 'improvement'
http://www.cnn.com/2005/SHOWBIZ/TV/12/19/television.startrek.reut/ - Reddog_x2000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Star Trek has been declining for a long time. TNG was good. DS9 was uneven. Voyager sucked. IMO they rebounded a little with Enterprise, but it wasn't that good. They need to give it a rest.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0finally. even though it is a big thing, it is over. they don't need an official site anymore. it's done with. startrek wasn't even worth airtime let alone net space. but if it needed that website because of the show, it's about time it's taken offline
- Gavin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0IM LOSING EVERY THING I EVER CARRED ABOUT!!
- birdadderley, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Number one, engage.
- PrezKennedy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Finally I hate this damn so ***** much, I think it was the most retarded show on the air."
Don't be a hater. Bitch. - jpturner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Enterprise was contrived - they tried too hard. It was canceled months ago yet they still act like it happened yesterday. The only thing that would have saved Enterprise was if Kirk showed up, but not even Bill Shatner would stoop to save it. I like Scott Backula (think Lord of Illusions fun movie), but the producers (the likes of the the very crappy Rick Berman, who now thinks HE IS STAR TREK) ruined it. Get rid of Rick Berman and put a real fan producer in there. I loved Star Trek and TNG, somewhat DS9 and Voyager - Enterprise is an abomination. Anything that Roddenberry did not hands on create (they still use his name however) is CRAP. There I said it.
Now everybody... Back to work! - Sillybear, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm a doctor, not a web designer!
- RDurfee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This sucks. Even with the shows off the air, the series still play in reruns. It's sad that they can't keep it online as a resource for Trek fans.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Of all the sites I have known, this was the most.... human..." sniff
- b0neman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Ummmm... even *if* StarTrek.com went down, there's no way any of the big wigs in charge of marketing would let such a cash cow as StarTrek slip away for long. The domain is still in force and they'll just host it somewhere else. Otherwise, the next thing you'll see if you type in www.startrek.com will be a chicks-with-sticks page. Think whitehouse.com.
- mrhaines, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Its my opinion that the remake is what killed Sci-Fi. Star Trek should have been done after TNG, and Star Wars should have been done after ROTJ. The only creative series I have seen since TNG that deserves merit is Firefly. Looks like we are going to have to get our Sci-Fi kick from William Shatners new DVD club. http://www.shatnerdvdclub.com
- Sillybear, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0oops, don't know how that happened ... sorry everyone
- galfridus73, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is actually a good thing. Let the franchise rest for a decade or so. In another nine or so years they can bring it back with a new generation and a new cast.
Meanwhile there's "Battlestar Galactica" to keep us happy. And, who knows, the two "Star Wars" TV series may not completely suck when they come out next year... - EpsilonPi118, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0A tear falls. A tear of liquid latinum.
- Turminator999, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0it is the sign of the Apocalypse.
- spudwrench, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I grew up with Star Trek TOS and even attended a couple Star Trek TOS Cons back in the late 70's. Call me a heretic but I've been disappointed with the Star Trek TV series since Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. However, I still hate to see a chunk of Sci Fi history disappear forever.
- MerlinTW, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I don't believe it until it shows up on startrek.com.
If it was happening they would have said it. - duke_nate, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Goodbye and good riddance. I'm sick of the idealic few of the future. Give me Bladerunner, B5 or FireFly any day."
You obviously havent watched Deep Space Nine. - yournamehere, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0it's real. this was posted some time ago
- Corny, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Is the search malfunctioning...?
