- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+51It must be cold where that photo was taken.. :P
- lankybutmacho, on 10/12/2007, -4/+43I don't know man, I'm pretty glad we have disposable condoms. After a few uses, they just aren't quite the same.
- lankybutmacho, on 10/12/2007, -4/+39It seemed to me that the entry at we-make-money-not-art was more descriptive than the company's confusing website.
- EyeDye, on 10/12/2007, -2/+27...with nipples ;)
- giloron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+25And, it had a picture...
- ever, on 10/12/2007, -2/+25Yeah. I wish I could use my toilet paper over and over again.
- commiecat, on 10/12/2007, -4/+25This reminds me of the SNL skit "T-shirt in a can" with Tim Meadows - funny how prophetic some of those older skits are becoming. They had another one with a 15-bladed razor poking fun at how the razor companies just keep adding blades and blades. Sure enough, now we've got vibrating 5-bladed razors. :)
-commiecat - AnotherBrian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17No, that's the beauty of it coming in a spray can. It doesn't HAVE to be cold outside, the evaporation and expansion should work together nicely ;)
- bobbob1016, on 10/12/2007, -2/+181) This reminds me of a scene from Red Dwarf (If no one knows this show, skip down to 2), where Lister has a hole in his pants and sprays it with something that in the show was a spray paint bottle, but the book said it was spray on pants, or hole fixer or something.
2) I think unless this is biodegradable, it shouldn't be used. If people just spray on their clothes, then throw them away every day, that has to be bad for the environment.
3) If it is biodegradable, is there any proof that it is fine for your skin?
4) Women would still need spray on bras, because the picture tells me that either the room was cold, or the spray was.
5) We are one step closer to Powdered Toast. - ComputerGuru, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15and for the men..... if it were to be used as pants you can imagine the outcome..... it's a two way sword... but you can't just un by and pull it off any more than you can do that to a chick in a skin tight t-shirt. It makes actual fabric, not just fibers piled on one another.
- redalert, on 10/12/2007, -6/+19This reminds me of futurama, great show
- jrob, on 10/12/2007, -4/+17"Another way to shave precious seconds off my morning routine."
You wear a dress?? - Shinglor, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14coredump 0x01: You can already do that quite easily, it's called "sexual assault".
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11I just had a scary thought, what if the fat bald guys with black socks decide to replace their Speedos with this stuff? Ugh!
- MioTheGreat, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10"Professor! I need another Bikini!"
"Wha--? Oh...I think there's one can left..." - tnsimonson, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12"'and for the men..... if it were to be used as pants you can imagine the outcome..... it's a two way sword...'"
"ROFL
I believe you are referring to a double edged sword. What you said comes off as a grotesque metaphor."
It is also possible that he was referring to a "two-way street," but that's just the way the cookie bounces. - neokyle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7speaking of...
http://tfp.killbots.com/scans/013_amy-bikini-spray.gif
(from http://tfp.killbots.com/?p=scans/@scans&name=javier&pag=1 ) - jzp-digg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7SCTV did 'spray on socks' in a sketch in the late 70s, and there was an early 70s board game that had an investment property of the same name. And the too-many-blade razors was originally from MAD magazine in response to the original 'twin blade' releases.
- baronvonrolo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9hehe, it's just a naked person with a very very fine film of fabric on them. If it weren't for the fact it's all white, that picture wouldn't be work safe.
- QueenOfSwords, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9How is this faster than just dropping a dress over your head? Seems slower, if anything.
Of course the customisability can't be beat. - idesign562, on 10/12/2007, -6/+13link to a blog... but phuket anyway. it's rad-cool.
i mean, more nipple-age around is a definate plus. - Xoligy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8A bit of nipple never hurt anyone.
- szelij, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Spending time to apply the spray takes MORE time than to put on a t-shirt.
- Flankk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7"and for the men..... if it were to be used as pants you can imagine the outcome..... it's a two way sword..."
ROFL
I believe you are referring to a double edged sword. What you said comes off as a grotesque metaphor. - spectre_25gt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Tell me you did _not_ just diss EZ cheeze.
- fuckingstudent, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6how do you put the back on without messing up the floor?
- Pentarix, on 10/12/2007, -5/+10Is that a ... guy?
- Midnightbrewer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6So basically you're spraying on laundry lint and making a shirt out of it? The three-year-old corporate website says that it can be "as durable as it needs to be," which is pretty vague.
- AnteChronos, on 10/12/2007, -6/+10A blog that links to a blog that links to a Wired article: http://www.wired.com/news/culture/0,70481-0.html
- drphilngood, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Lmao when I read this comment from the linked site:
"They used to just ask us to zip up the back, now we're gonna have to spray up the crack." - mrgreen4242, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4As mentioned, clothing repair would probably be the most useful application of this. Keep little cans of denim, khaki, white, etc colored spray fabric around to patch up small rips or holes in pants and shirts.
On the company website, another use that they mention, which would be pretty decent I'd think, is for sprat on sheets. One time use, clean, cheap sheets for less than 4 star hotel rooms might be a market. - sroske, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I remember Spray on Socks. I had that board game. Fun. It was called Big Deal.
- three60, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4This reminds me of the spray-on hair of years gone by. Anyone still remember that? Was it a Ron Popeil creation?
- Blah_Blah_Blah, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6It seems like im the only person who saw this but the company website is NOT WORKSAFE avoid this link:
Technology>Concept>Instant T-shirt - lalindsey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Shave time? How could it be easier than throwing on a shirt? For this you have to spray it all one (who knows how long that will take) and you have to be good at it to get it to shape well to look like a decent shirt and not a rag you threw on your body.... plus what about after? do you throw it out? if so it'd end up be infinitely more expensive than buying one shirt you can wear for years.....
- gamabunta, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6cool, but not exactly for people with diamond cutters.
- senfo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4The real website isn't too great, but it has a couple more pictures. (just be warned that at least one picture isn't work safe)
http://www.fabricanltd.com/ - Philbert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Thanks for sharing that, I was wondering if it would be useful in repairing current clothing. I hate when I have pants that are perfectly fine except that a hole has formed in my wallet pocket.
- ramallama, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5But, as with overalls, how to you open them for answering 'calls of nature'?
Keep a small 'zip up' canister? - TrueVox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yeah, and Mad TV did a skit with the Spishack Company's 16 (or some number) razor shaver. Crazy stuff.
- ardellin, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7eh, it seems about as useful as cheese in a can
- jpbjpbjpb, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7You say that like it's a bad thing :-)
- CoolSilver, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The actual company website shows breasts for the instant T shirt.
- tavisjohn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2One problem with this. You will have to carry around a can to touch up if it rips. If you can easily peel it off then so can others. You could be riding the buss and all of a sudden RIP you are now topless or nude!
- Gyga, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2While I would never wear that (I get to cold to easily). I can think of millions of applications, many are pranks.
- TheWriteGuy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3One spray fits all?
- sixister, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Nah I don't think Ron uses it anymore. I used to sell stuff to him when I worked at costco. He was wearing a brightly colored do-rag. Gangsta Ron.
- punkguitarist, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5"Another way to shave precious seconds off my morning routine." - correct me if I'm wrong, but this seems like it would be much more time consuming... not the opposite.
- mianos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+23 bloggs redirected. This is getting stupid.
- culebra, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Futurama had this years ago.
