Senate advances science proposal (Intelligent Design in LA)
2theadvocate.com — Moving with uncommon speed, the Senate easily approved a bill Monday that backers said would revamp the way evolution and other science topics are taught in public-school classrooms. The vote was 35-0 and followed about 10 minutes of debate, including restoration of language previously stripped from the bill in a concession to critics.

This is another reason why our young people leave and why it is so hard to attract young professionals to our state. Open-minded people everywhere laugh at us. Now our education system is sub-standard, but if this passes it will keep the state as a whole at the bottom of the list of states in nearly every category. (We are already there). There is nothing scientific about Intelligent Design. Why allow it to be taught in our classrooms? If a parent wants a child to learn these things, they are free to teach them.
