- animefx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12this is great... BUT am i the only one that notices that there are now 50 different things that are supposed to fight or destroy cancer cells, but you only hear about them and then nothing is ever done with it, or 2 months later no one ever talks about it again?
lets release the cure already. - ByteGuerilla, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Think it's still on private beta, mate.
- captainnico, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6are we going to have a ninja cells vs. pirate cells thread?
- antipro, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8it would be cooler if instead of 'assassin' it was a 'ninja' cell.
oh and Cancer, way to get pwned by silly little mice cells, I thought you were better than that. - Woknblues, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3really interesting. We learn more and more about the human body everyday. What an exciting find. (for some) Dugg+
- gekkokid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2please hurryup and make something that people can use rather than just money
- drawkbox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2microbioligist soon to be shot and the news down the memory hole after patenting of the idea by x pharamceutical company....and repeat.
- icabod540, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2When did I say they don't make mistakes or withhold information? I'm just talking about the experience I've had with cancer research. I've spent 3 summers working at one of the top cancer facilities in the country. I don't know everything but I know a little bit about cancer and how it's being addressed with research.
- ForbesBingley, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Discovering such agents is only part of the process. In fact, it's merely the beginning.
In some instances, testing can take decades... - jeebwise, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Edit:Read comment above. Same thing I had wrote.
- icabod540, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I think you have the people making the millions mixed up. The researcher make very little money. The companies that make the drugs to treat cancer make millions and the people that make the money are the business men that run these companies. Researchers don't make much money at all. Most researchers do what they do because they enjoy the work. You don't go into research for the money.
- jdavid, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3the original article is in a medical journal and is only partially available on-line. He also was able to summarize and establish a more friendly way to understand the information TOTAL DIGG for me.
- icabod540, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1There won't be a single cure for cancer probably ever and we probably won't see a cure for any cancer in our lifetimes.
- tombomb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hey, everything has to start somewhere. Maybe in a few years this will be a viable soloution.
- Kdog22, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Agreed there should a cure. Seeing so many things that can fight and kill cancer... Yet people still dying everyday..
- cadavreexquis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1No, but there's no cure for the common cold either. Already there's talk of cancer becoming another chronic, manageable illness like diabetes and (increasingly) AIDS.
- trogdor282, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1it begins!! i submit to you, sir, that pirate cells kick ninja cells asses.
- jdavid, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2my grandfather most likely has terminal cancer, i wish he could try this out, seems like an easy experiment.
- kris2pe, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0"The researcher" itself doesn't earn that much obviously cuz there are many of them! But the company that helds the research earn lots of it!
Becoz their employees & most employees don't earn as much anyways!
All I'm trying to say is that scientist are human & being human we are easily motivated or have flaws or mistakes so!
If you think their God & they don't make mistakes or even withheld information! Then you have been living in a rock 4 a very long time !!!! - kris2pe, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0PPl don't look 4 cure 4 these diseases because ppl motive them not to! I mean you see this everyday where there are alot of charity events, fund raising & etc to fund research 4 cures 4 cancer!
Now imagine if I were the researcher? I get paid in millions, whether or not I will find a cure 4 these disease! So will these things motivate me to find a cure 4 cancer? No! I mean if they find a cure 4 it, some greedy pharcuetical will get that credit & sell it & I may not even get my share of that wealth! While if I sit around my ass growing cancer cell & making them more immune to the body's defence mechanism, then I may even motive more ppl to fund more money directly into me in the foolish hope that I will cure it!!!! - steubens, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2Does *every* post on your blog make it to digg?
Please save the internets and stop, link to original article. - sfacets, on 10/12/2007, -12/+3"Yawn."
