- NinjaBoy, on 06/30/2009, -0/+13The Good News: No more blue screen of death.
The Bad News: System malfunction slides you into an alternate dimension - anonymousmedic, on 06/30/2009, -0/+8Two questions: Can we name it Schrodinger, and is it alive or dead?
- appleofdischord, on 06/30/2009, -0/+6I just had a quantum wet dream, but I'm uncertain whether or not I came.
- appleofdischord, on 06/30/2009, -0/+6This is incorrect. The qubits only lose their "state" every microsecond. Losing the state is equivalent to an electronic bit "forgetting" if it's a 1 or a 0. This just means that the state needs to be refreshed.
What I take from this is that right now we can use quantum computing to run algorithms, but not for storage (and probably not even for RAM type storage). - appleofdischord, on 06/30/2009, -0/+5It is both alive and dead until you receive it. Opening it resolves it into one or the other state.
- mparker21311, on 06/30/2009, -0/+5Dupe! But this is going to be awesome. Can you imagine things being 10 or even a 1000x faster?
- Choobie, on 06/30/2009, -0/+4You don't really know until you receive it.
- vacuum2440, on 06/30/2009, -1/+5this is pathetic man, you completely stole that comment from the other post yesterday
try making up your own jokes
http://digg.com/general_sciences/Scientists_create ... - Robozilla, on 06/30/2009, -0/+3You can buy this processor on Newegg for only $3,200,000,000! Suck it Intel.
- inactive, on 06/30/2009, -0/+3Ooh yes, all my ultimate dreams involve computers.
- wassim2k, on 06/30/2009, -4/+7Dupe # 3
http://digg.com/search?s=quantum+processor - fendereff, on 06/30/2009, -0/+3More Bad News: Need a new CPU every microsecond.
- NinjaBoy, on 06/30/2009, -4/+7No it cannot run Crysis.
- Frylocke, on 07/01/2009, -0/+2Hello Prime Intellect. Hope your metamorphosis was good =)
- slapded, on 06/30/2009, -0/+2BUT WHO'S GOING TO SELL IT TO US!?!?
- zyklon, on 06/30/2009, -1/+30/10 troll effort.
- lundman, on 07/01/2009, -0/+2THIS COULD MEAN ACTUAL ADVANCES IN THE FIELD OF SCIENCE!
- getter1, on 06/30/2009, -0/+2buried for repeat
- Blajano, on 06/30/2009, -0/+2So what does it do?
- inactive, on 06/30/2009, -0/+2Classy.
- rilus, on 06/30/2009, -1/+3I hope this was all in joke, if not...
Don't be a trolling idiot yourself and make it seem as though all atheists want to do is bash the bible.
And before you spew the nonsense you were taught in Sunday school, actual research what a religion is so you don't keep sounding like a moron. - zyklon, on 06/30/2009, -0/+1Yes, but there will be bottlenecks somewhere. You can have a computer with a quantum processor, but they'll have to figure out how to make everything else fast as well, like bus speeds.
- AtomicTheory, on 06/30/2009, -0/+1fail
- TreatsTheBear, on 06/30/2009, -1/+2It's not just faster, it will be able to solve problems that regular computers just can't solve.
That's the idea, anyway. - brisketplease, on 06/30/2009, -1/+2you don't know what i go through to come up with this stuff! i'm really trying!
- SkyWulf, on 07/01/2009, -0/+1YES!!!!
***** YES!!!!
A BREAKTHROUGH IN THE INFORMATION AGE!!!!
MARK MY WORDS, THIS IS THE PREDECESSOR OF GREAT THINGS TO COME - fendereff, on 06/30/2009, -1/+1Ah I misunderstood. Still, are you going to reapply a state you your qubits yourself?
- adventureindia, on 06/30/2009, -5/+5This processor is going to bring new revolution in technology
- EddiePotato, on 06/30/2009, -3/+3Dude why do you atheists have to get all worked up and make it about bashing the Bible and don't you know that atheism is a religion too and gosh you're an antisocial jerk and man Digg is so full of retards now and not nearly as cool as it used to be when it was just me on it and face palm and so on.
- NtHammer, on 06/30/2009, -2/+2+1 to eddiepotato for trumping briskets troll efforts
-1 to rilus for stupidity - EddiePotato, on 06/30/2009, -1/+1@appleofdischord: they'll use holographic storage, since it's vaporware, too!
Hmm, quantum processing and holographic storage... starting to sound a lot like an organic brain. - EddiePotato, on 06/30/2009, -1/+1Gotcha! It was sarcasm of the highest order! I was mocking people who get all red in he face and start casting insults and such whenever this circular argument comes up.
- jikmo, on 06/30/2009, -2/+1So?
- SwampAss, on 06/30/2009, -2/+1yeah its the first computer to agree that .999999999999 = 1
- jikmo, on 06/30/2009, -3/+1Correction: You don't know until you read it.
- brisketplease, on 06/30/2009, -7/+2the earth is 6,000 years old
