- Rmplstltskn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+30That's not how science works. One step at a time my friend. I think it's cool.
- marnaq, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19No. Your mom built them, you just scaled and deployed them.
- darkdaedra, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16When my smoking eventually leads to lung cancer, I'll be more than happy that research continues in this area. Seriously, I've been using the whole, "By the time I have cancer, I'll just be able to get new lungs" excuse since I started smoking. Scientists, don't fail me now!
- Roger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Lungs are way overrated. Most fish dont have 'em and I dont hear any complaining.
- Rounin, on 10/12/2007, -4/+16I thought everybody grew their own lungs.
- PhonicUK, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Back in my day we didn't have lungs, you where just given a set of bellows as soon as you came out! You had to pump all day an night or you died! You took your bellows and counted yourself lucky. Ungratefull little so-and-so's...
- Jonny5alive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9My parents bought mine at Kmart
- molecool, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4We keep seeing an increasing amount of these news reports, which is very encouraging. I know that some of those are just 'spin' - carefully released to attract funding, but if one looks at the big picture it becomes clear that we are truly heading towards that 'point of accelerating returns' Ray Kurzweil has been talking about. I'm officially middle-aged now but am very optimistic regarding my general lifespan, unless of course that big bus or some cancer gets me in the interim. I am quite confident that I will be able to replace several of my failing organs 20 years from now when I'm entering the 'golden stage' of my life. Very exciting times indeed...
- SirCharge, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Lungs seem pretty damned useful to me.
- ChileanGoD, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4she had to open legs..errr..source in order to build him. And let alot of people contribute.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6...But do they run linux?
- Lomi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I have read a few articles about some scientists postulating that one of the younger generations alive today may be the first humans to live forever due to advances in medical science. Whether or not that is the case, only time will tell... or not. Getting hit by a bus or being blown to bits will always be an issue :p.
- IGetNoSpam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1 justinvt is right, the shaft is still there greatest achievement.
- Ryland, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2This hits home for me. I have COPD, so I may need a new set of lungs by and by.
- SirCharge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I don't know about you but its not the lungs that I look for in a woman.
The day they start cloning vaginas, though, I'm kicking my girlfriend to the curb. - maxhrk, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2scientists grow the lungs is only ice of iceberg... in next century or two, we will finally realized the power of Resurrection by using most advanced uber-technology ever!~
*cackle evilly*
*ahem* move along people.. ignores insane man here.
edit:
By then we can resurrect george washington and ask him if America is heading in the right direction or not. :p - zweben, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3This is how David Blane is going to hold his breath for 7 minutes.
He's going to have a genetically modified lab grown lung implanted in his chest to allow him to hold his breath FOREVER! - volatileacid, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1and then it dissapeared again after your excitment died down..
- akhoslogos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I don't want to seem pedantic, but there is a difference between growing lungs and lung tissue. But it's amazing nevertheless. They are definitely on their way.
- sapo916, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I grew my own... penis.
- prytz420, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Woohoo! Smoke´em if you got ´em!

- Lomi, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1There is an innuendo joke about lungs in there... grow your own lungs, no need for women anymore :p.

- coredump0x01, on 10/12/2007, -10/+5If they succeed, i think i'll start smoking again (not).

"fried cow lungs (Paru in Malay)." - Ignignokt01, on 10/12/2007, -15/+8"Scientists grow lung tissue" is the proper title. Frankly, I'm not that interested until they grow something that can actually be used.
- fugazi, on 10/12/2007, -21/+8This is useless without pictures!
- zatrix, on 10/12/2007, -26/+6yay second? lol front page and no comments wtf. GO LUNGS
