Scientists Create Synthetic Genome

rawstory.com — It's another step in the quest to create artificial organisms: Scientists have synthesized the complete DNA of a type of bacteria. The experiment, published online Thursday by the journal Science, isn't a living germ, just its genetic structure.

  • elkram, on 01/27/2008, -0/+0Sounds very interesting...yet only the very tip of the iceberg. If the DNA of an organism is "synthesized" then I wonder if it is as stable as natural DNA?
