- phillipj06, on 11/07/2008, -1/+20You are a moron.
- inactive, on 11/07/2008, -2/+19How do you regenerate something you've never had?
Artificial body parts =/= regeneration. - doublefelix, on 11/07/2008, -0/+13"If a starfish loses an arm, it's no big deal" Try telling that to the Starfish.
- MasterSmatty, on 11/07/2008, -0/+11"Scientists Can Regenerate Body Parts Bionically"
Wow Scientists are just like salamanders! Coooool! - upick, on 11/07/2008, -2/+12Million dollar man eat your heart out!
- centerblack, on 11/07/2008, -0/+8There's hope for goatse yet!
- BigManOnCampus, on 11/07/2008, -0/+7The ultimate use of this technology is to make threats of cutting off the penis mean nothing...
"Cut it off baby! I'll just grow a bigger one and share it with someone else!" - GothAlice, on 11/08/2008, -2/+9Programmers type !=, and if you want to go for correctness, use ≠.
=/= is lame, and tells me "is equal or is equal" - PrettyGreen, on 11/08/2008, -0/+6Give them an MRI.
- ElSantos, on 11/07/2008, -0/+5Isn't this how The Lizard was created?
- joe7845, on 11/08/2008, -0/+4"Lots of other organisms have ways to regenerate."
Such as The Borg, or the guy from MIB. - gmprunner, on 11/08/2008, -1/+5But I'm not a scientist. Does that mean I can't regenerate my body parts?
- ultraJesus, on 11/07/2008, -0/+4So.. how do you kill them?
- pstroll, on 11/07/2008, -0/+4Why don't you slow down Doctor Moreau and create me some bionic hair for my thinning scalp
- Opperior, on 11/07/2008, -0/+4"On 26th August 1994, an unnamed old man of 62 years of South England was given the world's first battery-operated heart"
"The recipient of the heart pump, Arthur Cornhill, however died from kidney failure nine months after the operation" - 15thPD, on 11/08/2008, -0/+3It's hot in Texas, and the sun is very bright. They develop the habit of squinting and never really lose it.
... That's my theory anyway. - Acqua206, on 11/08/2008, -0/+3So some species of starfish can regenerate from just half their body, so long as it contains some of the middle part. A starfish can live up to eight years. Say you cut a starfish in half, it grows a new half. You cut it in half again. Will the starfish containing the 2 newer halves have a longer lifespan? I imagine the telemores would put a stop to this.
- theloofa, on 11/07/2008, -0/+2Am I the only who had trouble understanding the grammar?
- sanman, on 11/08/2008, -0/+2you mean like the vulcan inner eyelid?
maybe prez bush is just fitted with a bionic eye... - Jemulov, on 11/08/2008, -0/+2***** this article. There are so many typos I had to stop reading. Buried for incompetence.
- antarctica7, on 11/08/2008, -0/+2And how long before the MPAA, RIAA, and other *AA's start suing people for remembering songs in these computer memory assist units? They will probably sue the first person with it installed.
I can see it now...
"Your honor, he has NO right to remember that song without paying us every time he thinks about it. We demand a computer counter be installed in his brain and connected to his bank account to automatically transfer us money every time he remembers each song!!" - crzdmn, on 11/08/2008, -0/+2Prostitutes have a chance at a new beginning :P
- jeremymccurdy, on 11/07/2008, -0/+1The Acticon Neosphincter... That's quite possibly the most badass name possible for a bionic anus.
- defragment, on 11/08/2008, -0/+1This is the ***** that got me into Biomedical and Electrical engineering. Long live the human race.
- mogdor, on 11/08/2008, -1/+2Optional feature for the bionic anus - when you fart, it makes the Six Million Dollar man jumping sound.
- Zebceponaf, on 11/08/2008, -0/+1Reminds me of some crazy Japanese movie I watched a while ago. Some scientist could grow all these body parts, but couldn't attach them to anybody. Long story short, they ended up with a huge vat of arms, legs, torsos, that all self-assembled into regenerative zombies and started battling human kind.
anybody know the name? - hugstain, on 11/07/2008, -0/+1Dugg for massive stretch action on the top photo. I wonder what happened to that regenerative powder everyone was talking about a few months back
- inactive, on 11/07/2008, -0/+1By throwing them in a garbage disposal.
But you'd just kill the adult and form many babies. - BroodofEvil, on 11/08/2008, -1/+2Dugg for Bionic Anus
- hitdrumhard, on 11/07/2008, -1/+2My favorite was the bionic anus at the bottom. No, seriously. They saved it for last.
- inactive, on 11/08/2008, -1/+2i digg it for the bionic anus.
- Justavian, on 11/08/2008, -0/+1That's Casshern. It has a really interesting look to it - the colors and the way they blend animation and live action. The story is a bit silly, but it's worth seeing as an art piece if for no other reason.
- inactive, on 11/08/2008, -0/+1Sybian
- pixeltarian, on 11/08/2008, -0/+1hey it's like doctor Connors in spiderman. only he turned into a crocodile.
- Frylocke, on 11/08/2008, -0/+1These artificial hearts all seem like failures to me. The better path for new organs seems to be growing new organs with stem cells or iPS cells and having that transplanted. No rejection and will function completely normal within the body. The bionic hearts would definitely have use to keep a patient, who could be waiting for their new heart to be grown, in good condition until the grown heart could be transplanted.
- GothAlice, on 11/10/2008, -0/+1@Tahiri: In English, a forward slash is used to indicate combined alternatives. For example: and/or, he/she, etc. As =/= is not syntactically correct in any language other than English, that's the one I chose to use to interpret the statement's meaning.
- inactive, on 11/08/2008, -0/+1| is or
/ is divide - AaronCo, on 11/08/2008, -1/+2"Scientists Can Regenerate Body Parts" ... Really? So if I cut off a scientist's arm, it'll grow back? Cool!
- inactive, on 11/08/2008, -0/+1Reminds me of that Robocop commercial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0Gpd0U9ECo
- watcht, on 11/08/2008, -1/+1I saw nothing much on regeneration, just prosthetics...
- TheNewsReel, on 11/08/2008, -1/+1Nice! I just had a horrible accident involving my wanker and a bagel cutter last week so this is excellent news.
- Joker99352, on 11/08/2008, -1/+1Boy that bionic anus is just a dream come true. No more worrying about scratchy toliet paper, no siree!
- sanman, on 11/08/2008, -1/+1http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYj31Y_IbcM
why do Bush and all Texans have that same squinty expression on their face? - whatthefu, on 11/08/2008, -1/+1Have you seen Brad Pitt's dick? I mean, a guy with two dicks could still be ugly as sin but super awesome at porn.
- inactive, on 11/07/2008, -1/+1Cutcloning!
- Zervaman, on 11/07/2008, -2/+2Keep your bionic pimp hand strong
- KingGorilla, on 11/08/2008, -1/+1what about a hydraulic penis
- sporktek, on 11/08/2008, -2/+2The article is very poorly written. Reads like an adolescent trying to fill up an article just so he can, at the end, mention the "artificial anus".
