- beauley, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1In today's society, especially here in the U.S., with virtually the greater percent of the food manufactured is altered to some degree from that which is harvested and added to many of our baked goods, where much of the crucially needed nutrients have been removed and even though attempts are made to replenish them before delivery, many cannot and these products lose much of their original nutritional content.

- beauley, on 07/24/2008, -0/+1Some of us try to hide it, but honestly we must admit that we are becoming a world which has not even begun to halt our global obesity problem.Very noticeable, in the past few years, is the fact that even children not yet approaching their teens, the average weight of individuals has been on the upswing.

- diggopolous, on 07/24/2008, -1/+2I can't stand studies that are biased because they are funded by outside interests. So I am
disregarding this "scientific" study funded by the Policeman's Benevolent Association. - Dozernotz, on 07/24/2008, -1/+1"American Devotion to Donuts Fueled by Life's Other Struggles."
There has GOT to be a better use of science funding. - newms32, on 07/24/2008, -1/+1Did this guy do this for a science fair in 7th grade?
- ericmerrill, on 07/24/2008, -1/+1God is a bagel, and donuts are our Tower of Babel.
- andrewtheart, on 07/24/2008, -1/+1Blame the lack of a cure for cancer on the people who funded this.
- dstz, on 07/24/2008, -1/+1"There are very few things like that, where people are either fervently attached to, or strongly opposed to, donuts. Nobody is muddling through on middle ground."
Hey that's totally me. - brettmjohnson, on 07/24/2008, -0/+0Fat, doughy, too much sugar, and a hole where the heart should be. Yep! that pretty much describes us.

- muzjik, on 07/24/2008, -1/+0this whole article is utter *****. people eat donuts because they taste good and have been raised to eat food as a 'prize' ( thing back to eating a cookie after you finish you meal, or a dessert at the end of the day ) nothing more.. Stupid over analytical articles.
Buried. - Cretius0, on 07/24/2008, -4/+4What country has the absurdity to glorify the obesity rate and to say that junk food has shaped culture?
