science wins again. - inactive, on 07/01/2009, -0/+17Dr. Curt Connors did that and we got the lizard, think it a good idea?
- marytormey, on 07/01/2009, -1/+15They would be digested by the acid in your stomach and used by your body. They would not change your DNA in any significant manner or result in the growth of new body parts. Unless they contained a mutagen like radiation then the results could very, but the odds of something good happening are far smaller then the odds of something bad happening.
- Shwaavay, on 07/01/2009, -2/+12This is relevant to John Wayne Bobbit's interests...
- NickLee808, on 07/01/2009, -0/+8Combine this with cloning technology and we'll have an unstoppable force of clone troopers in no time.
- diggcensors, on 07/01/2009, -1/+7They already did this on the X-Files.
- acegi, on 07/01/2009, -3/+8god still hates amputees as far as I know. try if praying works for your lost limb.
- morgens2, on 07/01/2009, -1/+6Salamanders are a fish?
- jimmypopjr, on 07/01/2009, -2/+6John Bobbit just did a little jig.
- acknotSW, on 07/01/2009, -1/+5The release date of new teeth has been pushed back to 3Q 2016.
- lhbaker, on 07/01/2009, -6/+10So much for God hating amputees...
http://whywontgodhealamputees.com/ - hasslinthehoff, on 07/02/2009, -0/+4The Black Knight can finally have his revenge!
- avshanbh, on 07/02/2009, -0/+4Can it make your penis bigger?
- Frostek, on 07/01/2009, -2/+6I haven't seen God wearing a labcoat...
- BrockMcNuggets, on 07/01/2009, -0/+4I would be willing to try this - but what would I do with an extra salamander arm?
- ifruit, on 07/01/2009, -0/+4You would think that if our body was able to "grow" a limb at one point in our life/evolution/creation, that maybe it would be possible to do it again.
- bakamas, on 07/01/2009, -1/+5I remember a story back in the early 00s that speculated we'd be able to have 3rd set of teeth by 2010.
/if only the semi scientific stories you hear on a constant basis become real. - mogdor, on 07/01/2009, -0/+3Maybe now they can at least regrow skin and cure stretch marks
- lhbaker, on 07/02/2009, -0/+3Maybe somebody prayed for a science breakthrough.
- psunut5, on 07/01/2009, -5/+8Too bad Michael Jackson died... This might have been able to regrow his face.
- yocouchdigga, on 07/01/2009, -0/+3I'd volunteer for testing.
- inactive, on 07/01/2009, -0/+3Magical? What's magical about it?
- diggadigga, on 07/02/2009, -0/+3GUYS this is BAD idea!!!! Didn't ANY of you guys read SPIDERMAN!!!!
- rhinofinger, on 07/02/2009, -0/+2Yeah, well, he wasn't The Salamander, was he?
- scyphozoa, on 07/01/2009, -0/+2soo..can i grow a new member?
- acegi, on 07/02/2009, -0/+2nah, that's a position easily disproved by the fact there's been billions of amputated people who lived and died without a limb in the history of mankind.
many of them surely had a religion of their choice but that still didn't help, no doubt. - cosmosprince, on 07/02/2009, -0/+2Gee thanks for the info, Buzz Killington
- linksus, on 07/10/2009, -0/+2While this would be ace, i can see it being a problem.
People will take bigger chances in life.. Oh noes i just chopped my hand off. No worries the doc will dip it in some ointment and it will grow back..
Humm.. - morgens2, on 07/02/2009, -0/+2Let me just save you some time and tell you that they're amphibians.
- forcemarine, on 07/02/2009, -0/+2All we need now is some genetically modified radioactive spiders to go with it, add some cameras and we have Spiderman 4
- norman619, on 07/01/2009, -0/+1That magic powder used to grow back that man's figertip would prob fix him right up. Our cells have the ability to regenerate but for some reason they defualt to heal. The powder tells them to regenerate damaged tissue instead of simply healing over the wound and forming scar tissue.
- zip000, on 07/01/2009, -1/+2Someone should do a series of comics where each one goes through what would actually happen to the characters when the super hero creating events happen.
Peter Parker get's bitten by a radioactive spider...he gets a nasty welt that itches for a couple of days and goes away. The end.
It could be really interesting and funny if done right. - ApolloXLII, on 07/02/2009, -0/+1aww crap! sorry i was sitting here for like 2 minutes trying to figure out what you were talking about. yeah salamanders are definitely not fish. please substitute "fish" in my previous comment with "reptile." that should clear this up a bit...
- Jack8274, on 07/02/2009, -0/+1I haven't seen God...yeah
- kkm3, on 07/02/2009, -1/+2or maybe praying led to the discovery of this process...
/s
trust me. you can never win against God and fate. It's lile "God wanted us to discover this so we can live happily" - Terrywolf, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1Here's the difference between science and religion:
The way science works is by following the flow and inventing things through pursuit of empirical evidence. Scientists don't have a starting position and once a theory has been proved, they don't change it.
The way religion works is by making things up, things that are either vauge and can be taken anyway the reader choses or is specific but people choose either to see it as metaphor or blatantly deny reality. Science is leading by disproving biblical teachings all the time, and religion is trying to keep up by fabricating. Its like an intellectual virus constantly changing to adapt to threatening circumstances. - cersad, on 07/01/2009, -1/+2You turn into The Human Torch, duh!
- Terrywolf, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1why? Is your current one too small?
- undervalued, on 07/08/2009, -0/+1I trust you, please spew forth more from your vast storehouse of wisdom!
- anonymousmedic, on 07/01/2009, -1/+2War. War never changes....
- shadebane, on 07/02/2009, -0/+1apparently you never watch southpark.
- NickLee808, on 07/01/2009, -1/+2You mean Simpsons did it.
- skipvt, on 07/02/2009, -0/+1First you have to "accidentally" cut it off.
- ApolloXLII, on 07/05/2009, -0/+1is it that apparent that i failed biology? i guess so...
i'm more of an english and geography buff. - ApolloXLII, on 07/01/2009, -2/+3sweet! we get the right to bear AND fish arms?! horray!!!
- mdjus, on 07/01/2009, -4/+4He molested a black child? Sick! I hope he spends the rest of his life in jail.
- wicki1, on 07/01/2009, -3/+3Salamanders/???Weird.
- bGans, on 07/02/2009, -2/+2meh
- Darklogic, on 07/02/2009, -1/+1In accordance with our nature, we should quickly find a way to turn this into a horrible instrument of death for times of war.
- pkroner66, on 07/02/2009, -2/+2Somebody give these scientists a hand... or arm!!!
