- MeatMountain, on 11/21/2008, -2/+15Thats what she said
- MorganMghee, on 11/21/2008, -0/+10I was just thinking the same thing. 8-)
- hbyrne, on 11/21/2008, -1/+10Pretty interesting, and I say that with a straight face.
- jbittle, on 11/21/2008, -1/+10Some people are going to be disappointed when this comes up on a google search
- AussieScribe, on 11/21/2008, -0/+6Am I the only one who read the title and thought "Why are they generating prototypes?"

Beuller? Beuller? - Diggopolis, on 11/21/2008, -0/+6I must be good. I must be good. I must be good.... ;)
- twodollars, on 11/21/2008, -0/+4Think about it Diggers, with one hand, we together can power the nation!
YES WE CAN - BenBenMan, on 11/21/2008, -0/+4That's what she said...?
- twodollars, on 11/21/2008, -0/+3I nominate this comment for the 'wtf off-topic' award.
- securitymonkey, on 11/21/2008, -0/+3Women everywhere rejoice...
- ShadowofAres, on 11/22/2008, -0/+2wat
- JDoms, on 11/21/2008, -0/+2perpetual moaning machine
- smbober, on 11/21/2008, -0/+2Dugg, just to see where this thing goes.
- karmabandit, on 11/21/2008, -0/+1If held at a constant voltage, yes. That's probably what they meant.
- Sputtnik, on 11/21/2008, -0/+1Uh... with THAT much output, an ordinary MIC (electrect type) will do the same :P
- xBobx, on 11/21/2008, -0/+1And there was much rejoicing! :)
- Sputtnik, on 11/21/2008, -0/+1I think DIGG has some blame on it... every time I log in to comment an article (from inside said article), I am sent out of it to the 'popular' page... WHY?
- twodollars, on 11/21/2008, -0/+1Isnt there a watch that has this? I remember the gimmick being that it was powered by your movement, so it needs no batteries or winding. Anybody know for sure?
- caruso, on 11/21/2008, -0/+1I hear their working with Ann Summers on this project
- P5ycHo, on 11/21/2008, -0/+1Or not.
- kublerross, on 11/21/2008, -1/+1has to be a joke
Omron? seriously. - Xprience, on 11/21/2008, -0/+0Truth is, we all going to be old, more delaying, more frustrations.
Think about it this way, If you've failed a grade before, you'd stay and they'd be gone.
If you 108 years old, Like some famous lady in South Africa, You'd be uttering like "Id now like to join my husband in heaven"
Question is, would you like to die (really) old, Now pleas think about this..............
Thought as much! - karmabandit, on 11/21/2008, -0/+0For those who did a double take at "a change in capacitance generates electric current." That is wrong, but only because they left out "when the capacitor is held at constant voltage." At least, I assume that's what they meant, since just changing the capacitance does nothing.
- TheMachine1, on 11/21/2008, -1/+1This is more a sensor than a power source. I have some thin film piezoelectric vibration sensors I have never used that might generate power to I'm not sure on that though.
- seltaeb4, on 11/21/2008, -1/+1We may just have discovered a perpetual motion machine.
- Astark, on 11/21/2008, -0/+0A hit squad from Saudi Arabia is on it's way to your mom's house as we speak.
- Phalanxia, on 11/21/2008, -1/+1You could power the world off the Daily Express cartoons.
- dilbert, on 11/21/2008, -1/+1Forgive me, but I don't understand this: when capacitance changes it generates electric current. When I turn variable capacitor does it generate current?
- Malchus89, on 11/21/2008, -1/+110 Micro watts? So, 0.00001 Watts? That's pathetically small...
I suppose they'll just need to get a bigger one... - frosted, on 11/21/2008, -0/+0It's perfect!
Put it in your car, and generate some power when you are offroading, use it to power your electric 4X4! Reduce the dependency on non renewable fuels!
Hell put a bunch in your shoes and power your ipod! - Chris_F, on 11/21/2008, -3/+110 uW. wtf, either its a typo and he meant mW or the author of this article is a smacktard and mistook some kind of sensor for a "Generator". Surprised the article doesn't contain anything about flux capacitors or 1.21 gigawatts.
