- Rapax, on 11/07/2007, -1/+15Don't get me wrong, these are beautiful and interesting images. Dugg for that. But the question in the title?
"Whoever Thought Science Could Be This Colorful, Beautiful?" - Answer: anyone who ever had anything to do with actual science..heck, anyone who every stayed awake for a single lesson with a halfway decent science teacher back in school should know that scientific images are often of great beauty. - KokomoNYC, on 11/06/2007, -1/+13It doesn't even need color to be awesome. Look at these diatoms: http://www.bhikku.net/archives/03/img/diatoms.JPG
- insensible, on 11/11/2007, -2/+12These type of these things have always amused me .... !!!
- DesertDude, on 11/07/2007, -1/+10Er, it's not science that's colorful and beautiful; it's the creatures. Nature is beautiful. Science is just the tool here.
- maheshee11, on 11/06/2007, -1/+10The sections of pine needle and the stem of the Mare’s Tail could easily qualify as examples of sections a botany student desires to make in his/her practical classes.
- tehWyman, on 08/19/2009, -3/+10I did, actually.
- DiggMasterJ, on 11/06/2007, -1/+5What makes it unworldly?
- scooterbaga, on 11/06/2007, -4/+8I'd kill a small animal to have pictures like that at high rez. (1920, 2560, etc...)
Anyone know a place to get 'em? - knicknut, on 11/06/2007, -0/+4I'm going to take this page to my local Sherwin Williams!
- DesertDude, on 11/06/2007, -0/+3OK take it easy

- simpleid, on 11/07/2007, -0/+2science is an art, mathematics is the brush engineering is the canvas.
- jhakimi, on 11/07/2007, -0/+1Very nice photographs. Would you mind answering a few questions? Where did you get your specimens? Which stains did you use for contrast? Do you sell your photos? Thank you.
- mattstam, on 11/06/2007, -0/+1These are pretty pictures, but I could turn the treasures in my cats' litter box into something colorful, beautiful with special lenses and photoshop. I agree with KokomoNYC that we should appreciate nature in its pristine state, and not support lazy uncreative artists.
- silverchrysalis, on 11/06/2007, -0/+1and if they don't have Butterfly Wing Blue, i'll take my business elsewhere, dammit!
- DesertDude, on 11/06/2007, -2/+3Is that really what she said? Then tell her to STFU.
- btgoss, on 11/06/2007, -0/+1I agree. I view scientific images all day long as part of my job, and I can't tell you how many times I have kept a few for desktop images. But dugg anyway.
- inactive, on 11/06/2007, -3/+4Wow, that was so amazing! I felt like I was back in 7th grade science, not giving a damn!

- scooterbaga, on 11/06/2007, -0/+1I simply meant to convey I'm very serious about getting something like this in hires. You know... without using caps and exclamation points...
- tkltangent, on 11/06/2007, -0/+1Exactly what I was going to say. Science is beautiful.
- skags, on 11/06/2007, -0/+1A place to get a small animal? or the pictures?

- robphillips, on 11/06/2007, -1/+1I love the bastardization of both the American English, and British English use of "colour" and "color".. Who are they really trying to appeal to?!
- mrwal, on 11/06/2007, -0/+0"Whoever Thought Science Could Be This Colorful, Beautiful"
