Photovoltaic carports double as solar farm for green power
latimesblogs.latimes.com — A parking lot at East Los Angeles College has been turned into a 1.2 megawatt solar farm, thanks to nearly 6,000 photovoltaic panels that have been placed on coverings installed over the parking spaces. In addition to providing welcome shade for people parking their cars, the panels are performing better than expected.
