- WasabiBomb, on 11/16/2009, -2/+32Sometimes, a bit of crazy comes along which is so out there, so fully-formed, that all you can do is stand back in awe at the spectacle. Thanks for brightening our collective day, @CrazedLeper.
- Mnementh2230, on 11/16/2009, -1/+27Races refers to animals other than humans - different species of birds, for example. You've been told this many times before, but your refusal to actually read the book to get any context precludes you from believing any of it.
- Mnementh2230, on 11/16/2009, -1/+27"The *real* fossil record shows species appearing wholly-formed--and very quickly. No "millions of years" of development can be supported by the consistent finding of fossils of fully-formed creatures."
Funny, you admit you have no education, and yet you claim to have some special knowledge of what the fossil record *REALLY* says. You have absolutely no grasp of biology or Evolutionary Theory, and yet you claim that it's all BS.
I think I'll stick with the evidence - the things I've seen with my own eyes, held in my own hands, and studied in much greater depth than you ever will. - funklor, on 11/16/2009, -1/+26Definitely living up to that 'Crazed' part. But hey, you and your scientifically illiterate brethren know all.
- Cancerkitty, on 11/16/2009, -6/+30The fossil record was planted by the government to cover up the 9/11 conspiracy.
- mksmothers, on 11/16/2009, -3/+27When you get your flu shot, do you want the one based on evolutionary theory, or the one based on Christian science. One will innocolate you, the other involves wishing really really really hard. Don't believe everything you hear in Sunday school.
- bjorna, on 11/16/2009, -1/+25Scientific theory, I guess you just left that part out…
- rushiku, on 11/16/2009, -1/+24A point about what? That in your mind a magical force willing the universe into existence in it's current unchanging, unalterable form so it could watch you try to live up to it's expectations and then send you into darkness and despair for all eternity when you inevitably fail makes more sense to you than natural, observable, testable processes?
Sorry, don't have the time. - MartiniD, on 11/16/2009, -1/+24http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scientific_theory
Learn what a theory is before you open your mouth. When you sign up for a class in Atomic Theory, the professor isn't waiting for the day he can change the name of the course to Atomic Fact. It will and forever remain a theory and that isn't a bad thing, it is extremely good. When you idiots call Evolution "just a theory" you are actually praising Evolution. Theory in science doesn't mean the same thing as when you use it in casual language.
Again do us a favor and learn a little. - alapoet, on 11/16/2009, -2/+25Not to nit-pack, but...
The book's title is "The Origin of Species," not "Origin of the Species."
OK, to nit-pick. But still. Those two titles have different meanings. The first is all-inclusive; the second sounds as if it is about only one species. - mksmothers, on 11/16/2009, -1/+23Don't believe everything they tell you in Sunday school.
- kingmanic, on 11/16/2009, -1/+20Obvious troll is Obvious
- EddiePotato, on 11/16/2009, -0/+17Same with Shakespeare. I mean really, who taught these guys English!?
- IphtashuFitz, on 11/16/2009, -4/+20Props to Ms. Garrison:
All right, kids, it is now my job to teach you the theory of evolution.
Now I, for one, think evolution is a bunch of *bullcrap*! But I've been told I have to teach it to you anyway. It was thought up by Charles Darwin and it goes something like this...
In the beginning, we were all fish. Okay? Swimming around in the water. And then one day a couple of fish had a retard baby, and the retard baby was different, so it got to live. So Retard Fish goes on to make more retard babies, and then one day, a retard baby fish crawled out of the ocean with its...
...mutant fish hands... and it had butt sex with a squirrel or something and made this.
Retard frog-sqirrel, and then *that* had a retard baby which was a... monkey-fish-frog... And then this monkey-fish-frog had butt sex with that monkey, and that monkey had a mutant retard baby that screwed another monkey... and that made you!
So there you go! You're the retarded offspring of five monkeys having butt sex with a fish-squirrel! Congratulations! - Mnementh2230, on 11/16/2009, -0/+14Not really - he actually believes that.
- BeShirtHappy, on 11/16/2009, -0/+14You have every right to nit-pick... it was my mistake. I didn't even realize I'd put "the" in the title.
- serif69, on 11/16/2009, -2/+15Why don't I look like a rib?
- sHockz, on 11/16/2009, -1/+14just like you can have ***** dog's and maltice dogs, they are totally different in appearance, totally different in personalitys, totally different in terms of mental comprehension. their are hundreds of different 'races' of dogs, just as their are with humans. we have black skin, white skin, yellow skin, redskins, etc. how is it any different? are black people not naturally more likely to be taller and have more muscle mass than your typical asian? im not being racist, i am simply noting the difference between races. to think that we are all the same is IDIOTIC. i am white, i cannot be black. therefore, i am different from black people. can we at least agree there?
im not saying x race is better/worse than y race, im simply saying their are differences...whether they be good or bad. you would have to be an idiot to see it any other way. - Coffeedemon, on 11/16/2009, -3/+16With monkeys/apes from a common ancestor. Thanks for playing, bonehead (troll).
- Mnementh2230, on 11/16/2009, -2/+14Please, folks - Jessica Winters is a spoof account. Look at her history. She asks questions like this all the time. She's like... an uber-retarded version of Stephen Colbert.
- CrispixKingdom, on 11/16/2009, -2/+14Wait guys, Leper is right! Look at his argument with open eyes. The eloquence, the style, the sheer GUTS he has to stand up to all the scientist bullies and money-laundering, Satan-worshiping Jewish lobbyists! I for one am forever changed by his wisdom. Thank you leper, for proving wrong all those smart-ass educators and researchers. I mean, someone has to stand up to the experts, right?
In the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, holy son of the cosmic fog and supreme commander of all time and space, Amen. - digitalArtform, on 11/16/2009, -3/+15Not as bad as Ayn Rand
- carbonetc, on 11/16/2009, -1/+12Usually people bring this up because they think it somehow counts against evolution.
If Darwin liked to buy babies on the black market and cook them up for secret dinner parties, evolution would still be true. - detcade, on 11/16/2009, -1/+12Gravity is JUST A THEORY FOLKS
- gordonj, on 11/16/2009, -3/+14Answer me this... If we came from monkeys why shouldn't there still be monkeys?
- Dealjobber, on 11/16/2009, -3/+14
A fairy tale book – just like the books on creationism. If we came from dust why is there still dust? - sHockz, on 11/16/2009, -1/+12god forbid you let them know about a hypothesis...they might ***** their pants in sheer horror.
hypothesis -> theory -> law
i dont think we can even call gravity a "law", as we do not fully understand the phenomenon. i think it's a great theory though... - Disgod, on 11/16/2009, -0/+11Ummm Crazed, Darwin was actively OPPOSED to racism you twit. His writings, personal letters, and public pronouncements are filled with him opposing racism and slavery. He almost was thrown off the HMS Beagle BECAUSE of his anti-racism views when he got into a massive argument with the Captain about a racial issue. He was appalled by the slaughter of native peoples around the world. He was proud that the UK abolished slavery, and was proud when the US did so as well. His family was very actively anti-racist. You're just trying to slander a man that you know nothing about.
Crazed, you are nothing but a liar. - BlueSun420, on 11/16/2009, -1/+11...and since atomic theory is used to make horrible nuclear weapons that kill thousands of people that means atomic theory is not true?
- brickwall99, on 11/16/2009, -1/+11Go back to school.
http://www.fsteiger.com/theory.html - alapoet, on 11/16/2009, -4/+14Ask your Mom.
- bowens44, on 11/16/2009, -2/+12races does not refer to races of men. dumb ass.
- chadsexingtime, on 11/16/2009, -1/+11So, what you're telling me, is this great book was CREATED, and did not EVOLVE out of a bunch of different books over millions of years?
Case Closed. - jjh941, on 11/16/2009, -1/+10Fossils that "appear" out of nowhere took millions of years to evolve following mass extinction events. Yes, there was one that was even worse than what killed the dinosaurs 250 MYA. For the uneducated viewer, these fossils appear out of nowhere because on the 4.6 billion year geological time scale, 1 million years appears relatively instantaneous. Most evolution stays within equilibrium and speciation precedes slowly. Following mass extension events events selection pressure drastically changes leading to rapid evolution.
**Steps down from soap box*** - digitalArtform, on 11/16/2009, -0/+9Lets reboot the Darwin story and have him raised by apes, Tarzan-style
- ghouze, on 11/16/2009, -1/+10Submitted to Ms. Palin's Facebook page...
- drstock, on 11/16/2009, -0/+9sHockz: no, theories do not become laws. They are separate concepts.
- nitsuj, on 11/16/2009, -1/+10"The *real* fossil record shows species appearing wholly-formed--and very quickly."
Reality check - the fossil record is *full* of so-called transitional forms. I say so-called because all lifeforms are transitional. - Fallooza, on 11/16/2009, -0/+8...and your mom? just kiddin im sure shes a lovely woman.
- infinitus64, on 11/16/2009, -2/+10***** nitpicker who does not even get it right it is "On the Origin of Species" numbnuts.
- rushiku, on 11/16/2009, -0/+8Oops, you missed part
27 "Yes it is, Lord," she said. "Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master's table."
28 Then Jesus said to her, "Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted." And her daughter was healed from that very hour.
The moral of the story? Jesus may be a prick, but if you get in his face, you'll get what you want. - Mnementh2230, on 11/17/2009, -0/+8Crazed will never accept this, because to do so would crush his fragile little world.
- beatle42, on 11/16/2009, -0/+8Ok, I watched one of your videos, and it just repeats debunked ideas like the irreducible complexity of flagella. For an explanation of why that argument is wrong see http://www.millerandlevine.com/km/evol/design2/art ...
I assume the rest of your arguments will follow similar lines, so I'm not going to bother to watch any more of them. - Mujokan, on 11/16/2009, -1/+9Anyone posting that comment at this stage is just trolling... like the comment above about "races" when OoS doesn't cover human evolution. Who knows why they bother?
- bowens44, on 11/16/2009, -1/+9actually there is the fact of evolution and the theory of evolution.
evolution is a fact it occurred, is occurring and if we don't destroy all life on the planet , will continue to occur.
The Theory of Evolution is the explanation of the observed fact . - xshare, on 11/16/2009, -1/+8Unfortunately, tourism is killing the ecosystem on the Galapagos... which is sad, because all the tourists have the same mindset as you and I do, and while I want to visit, I know that by my visiting, I'll be hurting it.
- Moralogic, on 11/16/2009, -1/+8I though your username was phpfreak, then I was wondering how can you be smart enough to program in php yet dumb enough to not know the difference between theory and scientific theory.
- AndrewMoyer, on 11/16/2009, -1/+8Wait... did he just rub a red herring all over a straw man?
- sizzzzlerz, on 11/16/2009, -1/+8Read a ***** book about science and how its performed before repeating an idiotic comment you heard from your preacher. Who knows. You might actually learn something. I'm not so hopeful, however. You may be lost cause.
