- NGNR, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Very interesting indeed.
Even the name of the city suggest that there lies something mysterious, the name is Visoko (pronounced slowly for a name) but if pronounced fast then you are saying“visoko which is the Bosnian word for “high/tall.
So there you have it, you have a potential pyramid lying in the city of “high/tall.
I wonder where it got its name from. Maybe the city was named after the oddly shaped hill.
And if you are wondering what the name means for the city of Križ, where the Mr. Osmanagić believes the Bosnian pyramid of moon exists, it means cross. - loeakaodas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Does anyone know the coordinates of the Pyramid to see it in Google Earth?
- Seventus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Unusual archaeological findings are starting to disprove the school of thought that they currently follow - isolationism. Previous civilizations are being found as more advanced than previously thought.
It almost makes you wonder why pyramid/ziggurat structures have been found nearly all over the world (yes ziggurats aren't pyramids, but they're believed to have formed into them) - Egypt, Middle East, the Americas, Japan, and now Bosnia. - listerine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2They will have to digg it out :)
- bombtea, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1serious... i thought the illyrians were nomadic, wtf?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Its a hill not a pyramid.
- SergeantPepper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What's all this talk of pyramids in "South America"? The most prominent pyramids in the Americas are in Mexico (i.e. North America). No example of South American pyramids even come to mind. He even refers to the the pyramid as the Pyramid of the Sun and a possible smaller one as Pyramid of the Moon. Those are the same names of the two pyramids in Teotihuacan, an ancient city north of Mexico City.
- TimmyK., on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"12,000 years old! That would make it about 4 times older than the pyramids at Giza, what proof do they have that such civilization even existed."
Um... Probably the big 12000 year old pyramid they just found. That might be some proof. - jazz1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I’m so happy they discovered the pyramid in Bosnia.. At first I couldn’t believe it but know as I have seen all the pictures – pretty cool.. Did you guys see the stones and the pyramid tunnels? Looks like a real Pyramid to me!!
Greetings from Australia – Melbourne
http://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=53968&st=15 - pliving1969, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Actually thats not true there are pyramids in South America. In Peru to be exact here is a web site with pictures: http://www.crystalinks.com/pyramidperu.html and yet another with more info one them: http://www.rense.com/general10/oldest.htm.
As far as your reference to the pyramids of the sun and moon here is a web site on that as well http://www.crystalinks.com/pyrsun_moon.html.
So youre wrong on both counts. - arTech, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1all this talk abut language. i speak all "three" so if you say there can only be croatian and serbian then what's the damn difference in those two? not much difference. bosnian language is real and here to stay. it has enough vocabulary differences to be considered a language and it's older than serbian and croatian but the propaganda would like you to think otherwise.
- Sinan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1to those who say there is no Bosnian language you are wrong. Bosnian language existed as long as Bosnia existed. The fact that Serbia and Coratia didn't accept it as language doesn't make it "non-language". And by the way, Bosnian language is now the REAL official language of Bosnia. Yes, there has been Serbo-Croatian, but that was "pushed" upon Bosnian population until 1990. Since then, Bosnia had again it's own language. Bosnian.
If you read some history you will also see that Bosnia had its own writing also (or alphabet) called "Bosancica"... - loeakaodas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1A little Google search and:

@all: i live in visoko, and it's really amazing if it turns out that the hill Visocica hides such a monumental building. i heard about it 5 days ago, and i have to say that it's a little bit scary for me. i'm living here for 22 years, and just the possibility of the existence of that pyramidt just 800 meters away is a totally shock :) well, this hill is really very specific... it isn't that tall, but it's like a conus. my nick (visocicaguy - which i chose 1998) was inspirated by that hill, 'cuz i wanted to have a nick which many ppl should associate to this hill, and (if they knew for it) let them know that i'm from visoko.
well, here is a link to the electronical version of the book "Bosanska piramida Sunca" (Bosnian pyramid of the Sun), written by that archeologist. There are a lot of pics of that hill. Actually, it's written in Bosnian, but you can at least see some pics.

Greetz 2 all. Pozdrav svima! - pliving1969, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Sorry the web link on the pyramid of the sun doesnt seem to work so im posting another: (hopefully this one works lol) http://www.dallas.net/~lalo/masteo3.html

Again, there are no pyramids in SOUTH America that I know of. There are none in Macchu Pichu, and there are no famous Pyramids of the Sun and Moon in South America. If you know of any, add them to Wikipedia(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyramid_of_the_Sun). Besides, the largest pyramids are in Mexico (Great Pyramid of Cholula, and Pyramid of the Sun) so why even refer to obscure pyramids in South America (if they even exist)? - impstek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Good news for all us Bosnians, maybe now all the dumbass ignorant Americans wont always ask me "what the hell is bosnia" everytime I mention I was born there... f*cking idiots, we didnt need or want your help, f*ck off and stay out of our country!!!
Jos jednom za nase bosance, mamu vam jebem! DOBAR DAN! - hodza, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Chango family sorry to correct u but there is a thing called the Bosnian language it is actual called Bosancica (in Bosnian)
here is a link http://www.angelfire.com/hi5/profesorhk/bosancica.html
this is the original text
and the Serbo_Croatian language was made trough politics it is a political language because Drug Tito didn't want people to be looked upon as different than one another so he wanted all of them to speak the same language.
And the discovery is great if it only come out to be true that it is actually a pyramid
pozdrav iz CT - floejoe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Actually, this is a real deal. I've done some checking around, being that I'm from Bosnia, and it has been on the news over there quite a bit. The archeologist is actually from Houston, TX and as hordes of scientists from europe flood the region the project is now moving into a "second stage" of excavation where they will do various tests up to 4 meters in depth to get further confirmation. Stone blocks have already been uncovered. This should prove quite interesting, but foreign investments will be needed most likely for excavations to really take hold.
- Daduka, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I can see you're not informed well about Bosnia and language there(here). I'm from Sarajevo and Bosnian language exists since 1996, but it is also true about Serb-croatian, you can say that thera are 3 languages here but actually it is a same language only different dialekt, something like brittish english and american...
- cokoholicar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0When my mom told me the other day that they found a pyramid in bosnia i told her that she dremt it because i couldnt find anythign about a bosnian pyramid, now i found that it is in visako, i am dissapointed that there hasnt been that much media attention, i live in Australia and i guess Australia only really focuses on America and England, but yeah this is pretty fantastic, i was in visako 2 yrs ago, i am from there. I have been wanting to go Egypt to see the pyramids, but i guess i will be going Bosnia again very soon. Pozdrav svima iz Australije
- OgiVatra, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@ex-yugoslavs Pozdrav svima koje znaju da ovo citaju! =)
I naravno cestitam bosancima na ovu vest =D
I wonder what else is in the balkans, saying that during the last century countless wars and bombing has probably destroyed many things there (god knows what else exists/existeded), nice to see some good news from the balkans. - bsharitt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"12,000 years old! That would make it about 4 times older than the pyramids at Giza, what proof do they have that such civilization even existed."
Actually, the current age of the pyramids is a guess pertaining to who they think built them, but there is also also evidence that that pharaoh merely restored already ancient structures. Some dating of the pyramids at Giza and the sphinx date them even older than this one. Any dates older than about 1000BC are really just guesses. - Disparity, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well, we really dug this story up. No pun intended. ;-)
- MindTrigger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0
Umm guys, this is friggin HUGE news. Uber-Digg. - jdj2007, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0http://www.bosnianpyramids.org/index.php?id=17&lang=en (new pics of the pyramid's blocks being excavated)
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4443738390504296376&hl=en for some video (video of the network of tunnels being excavated)
looks like pyramids to me. i really doubt all three of those hills occurred in the same pyramid shape, forming a near-perfect isosceles triangle. my guess is they are entirely man-made or at least partially. but even if the hills are totally natural, as long as they were used as pyramids that's significant. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0ok this is pretty cool
- floejoe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Pozdrav iz Amerike! :p
Obavezno nazad na godinu! - SVPirate, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Quite a lot of weird and wonderful discoveries are made by amatuers - they tend not to be bound so much by the constaints of establishment and academia...
Hmm... Pyramids in Europe... that's gonna upset a few people! - chrizzler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0did a google on the name of this guy, read somewhere "hobby archaeologist", thats not good... but further a link to more foto's.. page all in bosnian language:
http://piramida.blogger.ba/ - leenus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0@nathanfunk: I saw the UFO-link as well and reacted like you did. But read the blog post and you'll see that the author doesn't claim it's authentic footage:
"Unfortunately for all Star Trek and War of The Worlds fans, it is "only" a commercial for The International Theater Festival in Sarajevo."
Cool clip though. - adisio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0If you go to google earth and zoom into Visoko it is actually really easy to find Visocica because it is Pyramid shape. It is the tall Hill right next to the city. Make sure to turn the terrain on and kind of look at it at the angle you will notice a pyramid shaped hill.
I grew up in Visoko and I can tell you that the hill is weird looking (pyramid shape) and there were always stories about the hallways inside the hill, but people always used to connect it to the midievel city that was built right on top. However the story about the pyramid makes a lot more sense. There is also a flat platau around the hill and smaller point shaped hills around it which makes it really look like a group of pyramid when you think about it. - Skitzo444, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That is amazing. I wonder what other freaky things are lying underground waiting to be unearthed!
- nathanfunk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow - >1000 digs sure prove that digg is an unreliable news source. Did you guys notice the UFO link on the side? I highly doubt this is legit. Sadly I dugg this story before checking it out :)

um yeah probably some other sci-fi nerd like yourself ;)
so this isnt new? people before were calling it a pyramid and now its true? or more people are rumoring?
neet stuff though - dig-dug, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Questionable, couldn't find it on google anywhere, would love some substantiation.
- B111, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0So did the Predators build it to train young warriors by fighting alien spawn?
- nathanfunk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Now I checked out some more news sources and this might in fact be true - I'm confused.
- adiaga, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0will wait and see what is under that hill, if they will ever digg there.

No really? - thechitowncubs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0wow
- t35t0r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've found visoko on google earth, but the resolution is too low to find some hill that looks like a pyramid
- darroyo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0to visocicaguy: Hi!
I study archaeology in Costa Rica and I will be transfering to Italy soon to continue my career. I am most interested to volunteer in the Pyramid but the accomodation prices in the camp are just out of this world. Maybe you as a local can give me some hints about other possibilities.
Then I heard the excavations will stop in October... do you know if Mr. Osmanagic will continue to pay the excavation's expenses next year? -
