This test was already done awhile ago and they thought they had figured that they did prefer a side by positioning themselves with either their right eye or left eye more to the outside of their cave opening. It was later proven false.

    I don't know about newer ones, but I have three, and they all have metal parts..
    • AlThor880, on 07/08/2008, -0/+1I have one of the new ones, a 3x3x3, and it has no metal parts. Each cublet has a corner (or side for the edges) that is attached to a piece that when they are all placed together form an internal sphere that allows them to move in the appropriate directions.

  • kd1s, on 07/08/2008, -0/+3I remember a couple years back someone had posted a video of an octopus figuring out how to get out of its tank, then crawl across the floor to another tank where a tasty aquatic treat was waiting. Then it'd crawl back to its tank, climb in and shut the lid.

    The thing that triggered them to install a camera was the missing aquatic critters.
