- SitPoMk, on 10/17/2008, -7/+39In other news, whores get less satisfaction from sex!
- whiteknives, on 10/17/2008, -3/+23Fat people don't eat too much because they get less pleasure from food. Fat people get less pleasure from food because they eat too much.
- shutaro, on 10/17/2008, -0/+16And bacon... Quantity and bacon.
- TunaFishGangsta, on 10/17/2008, -1/+17FAIL.
"I eat because I'm unhappy, and I'm unhappy because I eat." - Fat Bastard - rald84, on 10/17/2008, -0/+15i'd volunteer for that study!
- biogears, on 10/17/2008, -5/+20Yeah, but we make up for quality with quantity!
- jehan60188, on 10/17/2008, -1/+16"The researchers believe that the findings could help predict who is prone to weight gain in the future and provide treatment and advice to help them avoid it."
or give insurance companies a reason to not insure them for heart conditions, diabetes, etc... - somedudemanguy, on 10/17/2008, -3/+17Obese people also get less pleasure from dieting.
- diggggggerrr, on 10/17/2008, -3/+12If you read the article they measured and saw that fat people got less dopamine in their brain then thinner people who were eating. Which means it's not subjective and if you think about it makes sense.
- shutaro, on 10/17/2008, -0/+9It's clear you don't have a clue about how Dinosaurs work.
- TunaFishGangsta, on 10/17/2008, -4/+11Probably.
"No Sir..." *nom* *nom* *nom* "I HATE food..." *nom* *nom* *nom* "Ok, then if we're done I'd like to jam another rack of lamb in my mouth.." *nom* *nom* *nom* - freezerburn666, on 10/17/2008, -3/+10i'm just husky alright! leave me alone... i'm sick and i made bacon last night and i couldn't even smell it cooking, i had to eat a lot of it to compensate...
- kunstashley, on 10/17/2008, -0/+6When I want satisfaction I'll have sex, have a drink, or work out, AND THEN order a *****' triple cheeseburger.
- dafragsta, on 10/17/2008, -1/+7In other news, alcoholics don't drink Thunderbird because it tastes good.
- Scira, on 10/17/2008, -0/+5Maybe its because we eat too fast and we don't take long enough to enjoy our food.
At least lately my weight has been going down. - jdduran, on 10/16/2008, -4/+9Really? Did they ask obese people that?
- drez24, on 10/17/2008, -2/+7Let it go.
- inactive, on 10/17/2008, -2/+7They get even less satisfaction from mirrors.
- Cerialthriller, on 10/17/2008, -0/+5he may have a point, that dinosaur spit on newman's fat face
- reallybigname, on 10/17/2008, -1/+6Although people don't like to admit this, which is obvious from all the comments, people have different brain chemistry. This is why some people smoke, some people drink, some people eat more, etc.... In fact, just compare two smokers. One smokes a pack a day, and the other smokes two packs in a day. Is the two pack a day smoker enjoying his cigarettes less because he smokes so much? No, the nicotine affects him differently, so he has to smoke more to keep the nicotine level up to what the brain expects. All you tards out there who think fat people "just eat too much" and that's why they enjoy food less should take a look at anorexia sometime. Anorexia is the same *****, just backwards, the brain gets rewarded for starving instead of eating. Also, let's take the fat person example - there are many obese people who aren't actually gaining any more weight - just like there are skinny people who can eat all the cheeseburgers they want. Also, if its true that people who eat more enjoy food less, then I know some skinny people who enjoy food a lot less. Look at an eating contest sometimes - you don't find very many fat people because they just can't eat that much.
- Fleagleman, on 10/17/2008, -5/+10I think obese people get less satisfaction out of just about everything.
- Jeffler, on 10/17/2008, -0/+5SydBarrett420 is Hank Hill, reason he doesn't order triple cheeseburgers is because he makes them on his Vagner Char King Imperial.
- Quickdood, on 10/17/2008, -2/+6I love economics!
- ncc74656m, on 10/17/2008, -1/+5I wish I'd lose all satisfaction from eating, particularly from things with high fat content, large quantities of chemicals that would never normally be considered "edible," and no nutritional value. I'd be a lot healthier.
- Mujokan, on 10/17/2008, -0/+4Ah yes, science. The ongoing quest to place blame.
- Regbooker, on 10/17/2008, -3/+7It's only clear you don't have a clue about how Natural Selection works.
- AtraNoxVII, on 10/17/2008, -0/+4Flavor-particles? Yumminess?
Sounds like Science to me. You sir deserve a Government grant to fund more research into this "Yumminess Quotient." - Eivo, on 10/17/2008, -0/+4Definition
evolutionized - (1) To be killed via dinosaur eating habits. (2) Also known as Natural Selection. - Morghin, on 10/17/2008, -1/+5I thought it was pretty apparent. The more you do something, the less satisfaction you get from it, even to the point where you get too much of it. If you exaggerate the intake of sugar you'll get ill and it'll taste bad. The more alcohol you drink the worse you'll be off. I bet it even applies to sex, but I'm not entirely sure about that.
It even applies to sky-diving (it becomes boring if you do it too often and you get less adrenaline), so why not food if you've eaten so much you're making the goodyear blimp envious? - inactive, on 10/17/2008, -1/+5It's actually true.
- BoneheadFarker, on 10/17/2008, -0/+4With or without the milk gravy?
- Jolly81, on 10/17/2008, -0/+3"I can't get enough of you baby..."
- TVarmy, on 10/17/2008, -0/+3That can't be true for every overweight person. Depression is cited as a cause for many problems, but I think heaviness is caused most often by a poor diet, low exercise, and the lack of time, energy, or willpower to resolve those issues, exacerbated by a food system where high-fat, high-sugar, low fiber and nutrient foods are sold more aggressively than foods that are beneficial to healthy living. Biochemistry makes the above factors matter more or less to individuals, so I think it is very possible a person's genetics can make them overweight. There are people who turn to overeating to try to cope with depression, but I don't think 32% of Americans are obese because they have major emotional issues.
- Hetman, on 10/17/2008, -0/+3As long as you can breed evolution is working.
- shutaro, on 10/17/2008, -0/+3Wrong, it's called SCIENCE!
- serif69, on 10/17/2008, -1/+4I eat because I'm unhappy. I'm unhappy because I eat. It's a vicious cycle. If you'll excuse me, there's someone I've got to get in touch with and forgive. Myself.
- Subvexer, on 10/17/2008, -0/+3In that case the more natural stuff with less additives should taste better for you. They put a lot of that kind of stuff in these things they call salads.
I'm just gonna go ahead and guess that you don't have too many of those. - BXRWXR, on 10/17/2008, -1/+4That's why they have to eat more, to make up for less satisfaction.
-Dr. Duh - Sneezyx, on 10/17/2008, -1/+4You got it backwards, Brainiac. According to the article, people who have deficient tasting ability eat more to compensate, and thus become overweight. The obesity doesn't cause the taste deficiency; it's the other way around.
- Cerialthriller, on 10/17/2008, -0/+3interesting.. i am overweight and i dont particularly enjoy eating. If it wasn't mandatory for survival and you didnt get hungry, i probably wouldn't eat because im mostly too lazy to cook and those frozen meals are horrible.
- TheUngod, on 10/17/2008, -0/+3I don't think any number of big macs will ever come close to the taste of a delicious prime rib.
- catxors, on 10/17/2008, -1/+4RTFA, ya douche. The study addressed that question and showed that you are wrong: "When checking a year later it was discovered that those with poor "reward circuitry" were more likely to have gained weight even if they shown no signs of obsesity at the beginning of the study."
- inactive, on 10/17/2008, -0/+3Oh, I can confirm it applies to masturbation. Ever rubbed it raw?
- Stevethegreat, on 10/17/2008, -0/+3Considering that food eating is another form of addiction, it's what you would expect. Cocaine users are reporting that their first dosages were far better than those they had after several months of sustain usage. In fact that's also true with all the kind of addictives, obese people just so happen to be addicted to food. Aristotle had it right, the mean is eventually more pleasurable than any kind of extreme...
- Slade605, on 10/17/2008, -0/+2You guys are lucky, it's so terrible for me, I can't get off on washing my car like Syd over here, sex is out of the question, haven't seen my penis in years. Food is all I have left....you still love me spray cheese...right?
- Infidelcastr0, on 10/17/2008, -1/+3http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Addiction#Psychologic ...
- olivcarla, on 10/17/2008, -2/+4Yes, that is call science, Moron!
