- CryRightardCry, on 03/26/2008, -8/+15Uh huh.
If it works for the bass, OTHER animals will pick up on it too.
In short order predators will realize that when they hear that sound there will be a free meal of bass.
Animals are brilliant at picking up on free food.- Dokument, on 03/26/2008, -2/+5Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo.
- tool4life, on 03/26/2008, -2/+1yah must be part of their instinct that makes them recognize "free" food lol.

I knew this show taught me stuff. - yoshiminiyuki, on 03/26/2008, -0/+3no kidding, there is a bird that learned it could walk into a store and grab a bag of chips and walk out with it. the patrons of the store like it so much they will actually pay for the bag of chips. if I can find the URL I'll post it. but here is a picture of the bird http://www.offuhuge.com/media/21896/Bird_Walks_int ...
- elitistmusician, on 03/26/2008, -12/+34As it turns out, fish respond best to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBGIQ7ZuuiU

- tektalk, on 03/26/2008, -2/+6I'm assuming majority of diggers here have been rickrolled so many times that they've memorized the last ten digits at the end of youtube URL a mile away. I still dugg you up for your trying though.
- Hananda, on 03/26/2008, -3/+2You're a bad person for doing so.
- Fludd777, on 03/26/2008, -0/+13You'd just give up?
Rick Astley would never give you up. - TheSesom, on 03/26/2008, -0/+1hey man, the internet is serious business.
- Shiggie, on 03/27/2008, -1/+0...*****, i got rolled...
why is this song growing on me? - WhistlinTom, on 03/27/2008, -0/+2To be honest, I'm getting a little tired of seeing Rick Astley everywhere. It's been ages since peopel started doing that. Ages, i tell you, Ages on the internet is like 4 weeks. It's true, look it up.
- mordero, on 03/26/2008, -8/+3Ohh you almost got me, but Ive learned to recognize the uuiU :-p
- techresearcher, on 03/26/2008, -1/+13"What's next, teaching them to coat themselves in batter and hop inside a fryer?"
- Mootabolife, on 03/27/2008, -0/+1Nah, I'm pretty sure the next step is some dumbass pumping huge speakers and killing all the fish in the oceans.
- prisoner24601, on 03/27/2008, -0/+1Strongbad doesn't have a jig for that one yet...
"Come on and get in the BOOooat fish! Come on and get in the boat, fish fish!"

pshaw - robszol, on 03/26/2008, -1/+3Until fish evolve to learn to GTFO
- Matt174e, on 03/26/2008, -2/+7Can this work with women?
- Matt174e, on 03/26/2008, -3/+4... that don't smell like fish.
- eohano, on 03/27/2008, -2/+1What's a "women"?
- Scaryclouds, on 03/27/2008, -1/+1GTFO
- allfatherblack, on 03/26/2008, -2/+1And some day people will be brain washed by some kind of... box that shoots radiation into your eyeballs or something! Psh, yeah right dude, whatever...
But yeah this is good to know, but I dont think I can really advocate taking the sport out of an already nigh-unsporting event. But hey, no one claimed fishers/golfers/hunters had any balls, so go nuts hicks!
And yes, I realize this article covers commercial fishing which doesnt have the same agenda... - drunkentoad, on 03/26/2008, -3/+1My bug zapper works just fine thank you very much
- smacksaw, on 03/26/2008, -2/+2It should read: "What's next, teaching them to eviscerate, scale, fillet and then coat themselves in batter and hop inside a fryer?
- RabidFurby, on 03/26/2008, -2/+1Smacksaw: Yes please.
- alex7575, on 03/26/2008, -3/+2Just blast some Britney Spears into the water, I bet not that many fish can endure that for long...
- Lavarock, on 03/26/2008, -1/+1Rig up the signs, ecofreaks. Get a move on.
- tensaibaka, on 03/26/2008, -0/+1If they can get this to work, that means we're this much closer to actually finding the brown note.
- TheHim, on 03/26/2008, -1/+2Another question, how's commercial fish killed? Do their simply suffocate when they're pulled out of the water?
- countingthedays, on 03/27/2008, -0/+1Sometimes. Other times, its when their guts are pulled out.
- MooseTaag, on 03/26/2008, -3/+16Sounds a bit fishy to me. I'm not too sure if its reel...
- dvsbastard, on 03/26/2008, -1/+6I sea what you did there...
- Shadosong, on 03/27/2008, -0/+0i think u made my sense of humor cry
- dizturbd2, on 03/26/2008, -1/+2Nice. I will just bore them into submission.
- JustDino, on 03/26/2008, -2/+2$270,000 grant???nothing fishy about those tax payer spending!!!
- Hilyin, on 03/26/2008, -2/+0Is this similar to whales beaching themselves after constant sonar noise from submarines?
- 1800collect, on 03/26/2008, -1/+2Now I can train a small fish army to do my bidding! I'll be like Aqua man!
- twigboy, on 03/27/2008, -0/+1http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ruR6lm0-cw
- JustDino, on 03/26/2008, -1/+1What a crock of fish!
- frogman54, on 03/26/2008, -0/+8This is true. Whenever I'm fishing, right after they hear the sound of dynamite exploding, the fish just seem to give up.
- Motif31G, on 03/26/2008, -0/+1similar to this http://smouch.net/lol/
- Victor0Zhai, on 03/27/2008, -0/+1that website's a bitch
i mean wtf? 100 dialogue boxes of lyrics?
- Victor0Zhai, on 03/27/2008, -0/+1that website's a bitch
- awarring, on 03/26/2008, -6/+1Ron Paul 2012!
- Wargalas, on 03/26/2008, -2/+4No bait needed: Fish "may respond to sounds and just give up"
Sounds like the Democratic party. - ineptsavant, on 03/26/2008, -0/+1the internet has warped my perspective on everything. I saw "give up" at the end of this digg title and my brain rickrolled me with "never gonna give you up". Damn you internets!
- SwankRock3000, on 03/26/2008, -0/+7pffft, I learned this like 20 years ago on Sesame Street.
You just say "Heeeeeeeeeeeerrre FISHY FISHY FISHY!!!" and they flop right into your boat.- ZenMojo, on 03/27/2008, -0/+1Just hope you don't end up with a shark. (But if he smiles at you, then you're cool.)
- fucter, on 03/26/2008, -1/+1Great, commercial fisherman will learn this and continue to overfish our seas.
- mattes5, on 03/26/2008, -1/+1Waist of tax money... we already have technology that can do this... I don't know the name of it but i've seen it done where you stick an electric type rod in the water and it shocks the fish and makes them come to the surface... they are not harmed either after a min or so they go back to w/e they were doing.
- warsql, on 03/27/2008, -0/+1But this way the fish come back to you. You don't have to troll around picking them up.
- mattes5, on 03/27/2008, -0/+1It sounds great but then they are going to abuse this technology and put all our children in a cave... jk
- Amadeus2490, on 03/27/2008, -0/+1So, this is kind of like Battle Meditation, but for fish?
- BossKey, on 03/27/2008, -0/+1Bah...I learned these techniques at the Jedi Fishing Workshop.
- jake07, on 03/27/2008, -0/+1Let's just find the easiest way to completely empty the ocean, which is already over-fished. Morons. What you want is a sound that makes the fish automatically mate and spawn.
- ZenMojo, on 03/27/2008, -0/+1Tax farmers for waste released into local areas. See how hesitant they'll be to embrace open-area fishing.
- johnnysaucepn, on 03/27/2008, -0/+1"Hey fish! Hey fiish! I'm gonna, I'm gonna recommend that you guys come up here in the boat. We've got a, uh, a keg! Of worms! And, uh...phytoplankton! ... Come on! Anybody who's everybody is up in here! Come on and get in the boat, fish! Come on and get in the boat, fish fish!"
- DeFex, on 03/27/2008, -0/+2They need something like this that makes humans do things, you could put a box in their living room which tells them how to be apathetic and what to buy. you could make them pay for the box themselves lol
- WhistlinTom, on 03/27/2008, -0/+1All your Bass are belong to Us.
- QueTeImporta, on 03/27/2008, -0/+1Already proven here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pFTjeaDlxDI
- ZurMacht, on 03/27/2008, -0/+1Its as if the fish want us to eat them.
- maskedkoala, on 03/27/2008, -0/+0disregard this.
- HappyScrappy, on 03/27/2008, -0/+1They also simply give up when you introduce them to dynamite.
- ferrofluid, on 03/28/2008, -0/+1This will allow the fishing boats to extract the last few fish remaining, the usable fish becoming extinct, the crews making themselves unemployed, the absent owners get federal compensation for 'lost fish' and useless boats, everybodys happy.
- elscorcho717, on 03/30/2008, -0/+1Have you guys heard of natural selection? Many of the fish will go but not all of them and the ones who were smart enough not to will pass on their genes to the next generation. A short-term strategy at best.
