- PuterPrsn, on 12/01/2008, -1/+16This would be wonderful! The worst part of any surgery is getting the stitches pulled out 2 weeks later - I HATE that!
- BigManOnCampus, on 12/02/2008, -0/+9Another Star Trek technology coming to reality...
Gene Roddenberry was an alien in disguise. - DatDudeWiggs, on 12/02/2008, -0/+8Any chance I can weld my girl's mouth shut on Sundays?

- ChileanGoD, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2Wasn't supposed to be sterile?
- IpwnURcomment, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1Agreed. What are these doctors urinating on stitches for anyways. I never knew the dissolving stitches required a catalyst.
- palehorse864, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1Seriously though this looks cool.
- maz2331, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1Good. When can we get a home version for razor and paper cuts? Those damn things never quit bleeding.
- JPollet85, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1duct tape?
- houndeyex, on 12/02/2008, -2/+3...and it caused mine.
- cfeick, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1"Sutures or stitches are not watertight, and blood or urine can pass through cuts, causing severe infection," Katzir said.
Urine? WTF? - Tonkatsu, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1Starting the operation!
- ScottyAnimal, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1Now only to build a time machine to get to the Doctors of The Future.
- inactive, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1How can anyone not digg laser skin welding?
I would have made that the title. - u8myfoood, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1Krazy glue actually quite good for temporary stitches, its contains cyanoacrylate ester, which is the main active ingredient in those liquid bandages. So it's good for more than sticking together those small shattered items.
- IpwnURcomment, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1When did sharks start doing surgery?
- leighlee, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1What happens if you "laser skin weld" something shut that you don't want shut...
just saying... it could be bad. - Observant1, on 12/03/2008, -0/+1stop talking sense on digg
this is LASERS man!! LASERS!!
krazy glue and butterfly tape just cant compete with the wasteful spending on LASERS lol - lornali, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1This is remarkable
- Myztry, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1Pull them out yourself. It's not exactly hard or painful.
Just put yourself in a curious removed state of mind and it's easy. - NotDennis, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1Certain types of super glue have already been used for years to provide a water tight, flexible, and fast seal for cuts and wounds (though these are mostly small flesh wounds.) Couldn't they refine this existing technology to work for larger wounds? I'd rather carry around a tube of glue that any guy can use than have something that you first need to be trained to use.
- inactive, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1It's an anagram? So, I rearrange those letters to form another word? Ooh! I know this. The answer is EARLS. Do I win a prize?
- microview2007, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1Sorry Trekkie fans, but Logan's Run came up with laser surgery in 1977, long before Next Generation.

"In the near future Doctors may be able to trade their needle and thread for laser 'skin welding.' " - Halsfield, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1dugg for knowing sealab 2021, even though adult swim refuses to play its best show most of the time.
- gkiltz, on 12/02/2008, -0/+0Finally!!
Now that we're well into the 21st century, it's time to move the closing of wounds out of the 15th century!! - ChileanGoD, on 12/02/2008, -1/+1Late circumcised?
- bendthedark, on 12/02/2008, -1/+1COMING SOON: Your handy dandy skin welder to go. Fits in your pocket, just in case that car swerves the wrong way. Easily accessible, for those in combat. Just put the glue on and weld!
- NotDennis, on 12/05/2008, -0/+0Fine, I'll speak diggish...
PEW PEW PEW I AM A LAZER!! - Laiden, on 12/02/2008, -1/+1Dugg for capitalization of the anagram LASER.
