- tiresias2, on 07/09/2009, -1/+12Would be tragic to see this creature discovered only to disappear shortly thereafter.
- aizvek, on 07/10/2009, -0/+8July 07 - New Monkey Discovered in Brazil
July 09 - Newly Discovered Brazilian Monkey At Risk
July 11 - Newly Discovered Brazilian Monkey Now Extinct - phrawgh, on 07/10/2009, -0/+6Wow. We nearly killed them all in a few days? Impressive.
- Memnochxx, on 07/10/2009, -0/+5Of course it's endangered. If it wasn't endangered we would already have known about it.
- Super6, on 07/10/2009, -0/+4Think about it, if those ***** wouldn't have discovered it we would never know it went extinct and no one would have had to write an article about it!
- novenator, on 07/09/2009, -1/+4A species with real long term thinking and insight would set aside vast tracts of land for the natural world without humans. This is the perfect demonstration of that.
- solboldi, on 07/09/2009, -1/+4How about we consider nearly all species on this planet threatened.
- J3553, on 07/10/2009, -0/+3seems like it was doing fine before someone found it. how about we leave it the ***** alone?
- BrownieMix, on 07/10/2009, -0/+2Oh no, I hope it doesn't die out. It's such a significant member to the food chain, just like every other animal!
- haikuFU, on 07/10/2009, -0/+2It doesn't help that it happens to be so delicious also.
- MrTea, on 07/10/2009, -0/+2is it the source of AIDS?
- inactive, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1***** these spammers.
- skiiper, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1If we never discovered it in the first place, we would consider it "at risk". Ignorance is bliss.
- rockon4life45, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1I get the feeling that it was never in good shape to be newly discovered.
- doctechnical, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1A friend of mine noted that animal rights people should be very gung-ho about the space program, since it's the only way the non-humans of Earth have any chance to survive, say, a huge meteor impact. If we take them with us.
Better start treating us nice, animals. We may be your only hope. NOW GET INTO MA BELLY! - Jalh, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1spam sucks !
- asunesara, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1It's the new global manifest destiny.
- Mrstupid7, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1That's a whole ***** of monkeys at risk.
- rodrigo74, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1I would be more surprised with a headline like "Millions of newly discovered brazilian monkeys found, not in risk at all".
Seriously, any mammal species that has not yet been discovered by this day and age is certainly in very small quantities and therefore endangered. - emecks, on 07/09/2009, -1/+2I bet it wishes it had never been discovered....
- ghatid, on 07/10/2009, -0/+1If it was so hard to find in the first place, doesn't that mean it was alway rare?
- wilhoitm, on 07/10/2009, -1/+1Including Humans!
- Propyne, on 07/10/2009, -0/+0Well humans can't try and save every animal, fk that monkey!
/s - kurtzmoo, on 07/10/2009, -2/+2I wish we would've never even discovered it!
- gkiltz, on 07/10/2009, -0/+0if it's newly discovered, how do we know whether or not it is at risk, or what that means?
- kawstick, on 07/10/2009, -0/+0Kill it with fire?
- basickly, on 07/10/2009, -2/+1There are millions of species on earth.
Many species will die out with or without human intervention.
New species are created over time.
The Earth is constantly changing... Some of that change is a direct result of humans, a lot of it is not.
Species must adapt to their constantly changing environments or they will go extinct.
Some species do, some species don't.
The fact that this monkey is already so rare implies that it wasn't well adapted for survival anyway. - inactive, on 07/10/2009, -2/+0every other species on the planet has built in natural instincts to live within the confines of a harmonic ecosystem... i just dont understand what makes us so different, why people must ***** where they sleep. its like were the ***** rats that were left over when the real civilization ended (dinasours)
- kkm3, on 07/10/2009, -2/+0Knock Knock!
