- Exedous, on 06/02/2009, -0/+4A heart beat does not equate to a ball of cells. As soon as the heart starts beating, buds of the limbs appear and is about the same time the digestive system begins to develop.
- inactive, on 06/02/2009, -4/+8I'm so glad Obama supports science so much. Because science (especially in the medical field) is what progresses humanity. Now I wonder why we digressed during the past 8 years
- Xaevier, on 06/02/2009, -1/+4For a second there I thought it said "Fatal" and was some sort of heart attack warning device.
- TSK05, on 06/02/2009, -1/+4NASA would beg to differ on your first point.
- Exedous, on 06/02/2009, -4/+6Once there is a heart beat, there is life. Therefore, aborting a fetus that has a heart beat IS murder.
- geauxtig3rs, on 06/02/2009, -1/+3I guess we should euthanize all patients that need to be on a ventilator to survive?
I understand the need for legality of abortions. Even if they weren't legal, they would be performed in back alleys with coat hangers with potentially horrifying results, therefore I support the current Roe v. Wade decision.
It's the callous attitude of many pro-choicers, that in an attempt to justify their position, gloss over the miracle of life. Abortion is a very tough decision for many, and should only be done after counseling with both a planned parenthood consultant and an adoption consultant.
In addition, if you want to question viability, I posit that a human newborn is no more viable out of the womb than in without being cared for. I highly doubt that without a guardian a newborn would last more than a couple days out of the womb.
It's not my place to tell people what not to do, but I also don't have to be a dick about it. - inactive, on 06/02/2009, -0/+2but we all know that no one supports nasa
:( - inactive, on 06/02/2009, -3/+4Wow they have heartbeats that early maybe even earlier? Hmm, that must mean they are alive and HUMAN! Hmmm, maybe they should stop aborting (murdering) them.
- linagee, on 06/02/2009, -1/+2How is babby's heart formed?
- geauxtig3rs, on 06/02/2009, -2/+2Cease foul troll..
Hate humanity my ass...
Any if you are going to cite statistics, at least have the intellectual honesty to cite their source as well. - ricksite, on 06/02/2009, -1/+1So now a fetus can tell if it is getting a good workout?
- trolleybus, on 06/02/2009, -2/+1Fake. Fetuses are not humans, so they can't have hearts, brains and such.
They become humans when the State giveth them the birth certificate. Only then they become ***** Sapiens species.
By the way, if you think they are humans and killing them is murder, how else are you going to fight poverty, genetic diseases and subhuman races? - emt1451, on 06/02/2009, -3/+1Oh, so that's why I already had you blocked. I'll keep you that way.
- celeritasrt, on 06/02/2009, -2/+0How am I a troll? Seriously, you hate humanity if you insist that you must compare ventilation of conscious humans to abortion, plus the whole Dr Tiller thing. Sorry, feti outside the womb before 24 weeks generally do not survive and don't have demonstrable consciousness.Who's a troll? I'm not shooting innocent men with shotguns in the middle of their Sunday services. Neither am I denying teenagers the chance to proper sexual education.
As to your stats:
'MYTH: Many women come to regret their abortions later.
Research indicates that relief is the most common emotional response following abortion, and that psychological distress appears to be greatest before, rather than after, an abortion.
'There are undoubtedly some women who, in hindsight, wish that they had made different choices, and the majority would prefer never to have become pregnant when the circumstances were not right for them. When a wanted pregnancy is ended (for medical reasons, for example) women may experience a sense of loss and grief. As with any major change or decision involving loss, a crisis later in life sometimes leads to a temporary resurfacing of sad feelings surrounding the abortion. Women at risk for poor post-abortion adjustment are those who do not get the support they need, or whose abortion decisions are actively opposed by people who are important to them.'
Psychological Responses Following Abortion. Reproductive Choice and Abortion: A Resource Packet. Washington, DC: American Pyschological Association, 1990.
In that report is about 80% of women feeling relief and less stress after the abortion. - benroy, on 06/02/2009, -5/+2I have never seen "ThePowerDigger" before but i almost want to bury this because of his avatar and profile alone. What a douchebag.
- celeritasrt, on 06/02/2009, -5/+0'Abortion is a very tough decision for many, and should only be done after counseling with both a planned parenthood consultant and an adoption consultant.'
Consultant in that case is wonderfully called a doctor. Not a consultant. They will consult in medical terms, not ethical. That's not their job. Adoption consultant - surely that's an agency?
Congratulations, you hate humanity. Not only to statistics show that the majority of women will continue to have an abortion after being 'counseled' (which is double speak for delaying the time given for them to have the abortion in), they will still have it. Besides, how many of those kids actually get adopted or leave the foster care system?
And no, I don't agree with your first point. That certainly isn't the same thing, unless the patient is braindead, which in that case required legal work. The fetus doesn't have a working 'consciousness' as it were like the patients, who can choose not to be on ventilators or choose to. - celeritasrt, on 06/02/2009, -6/+0And it would be still screwed if it was outside the womb then, so therefore not viable. Take your human hating lack of understanding of science and survival elsewhere.
- celeritasrt, on 06/02/2009, -10/+1It would be ***** outside the womb, hence why it isn't viable usually until birth as a 'human being' until it can survive outside of it. Please, learn some science. Plus, you clearly value the rights of a ball of cells over a full grown human. So much for your version of life if you hate life once it is viable.
