Nazi bunkers hidden for 50 years revealed by storm
dailymail.co.uk — Four Nazi bunkers have been discovered on a Danish beach following violent storms. Historians say the hideouts, unearthed after strong waves exposed their iron structures, are unique because they are still fully furnished and appear just as they did in 1945.

I'm sorry that makes you feel so much like a chump for believing that ***** that you have to scrabble around to find some right wing ***** that will assuage your butthurt ego, but the fact is there were no WMDs in Iraq and nobody found any. - m0laria, on 08/05/2008, -0/+1It's 40% as powerful as natural uranium. You're telling me that isn't dangerous to be exposed to?
"Its use in ammunition is controversial because of its release into the environment. Besides its residual radioactivity, U-238 is a heavy metal whose compounds are known from laboratory studies to be toxic to mammals. However, there has never been a definitive toxicological link established in humans and it is believed that low and moderate exposures to depleted uranium pose little if any toxicological threat."
Low and moderate exposure pose little threat. What about large exposure, such as in an area where large amounts of DU were used in combat?

HITLER'S PERSONAL BUNKERZ FOUND!!! WTF???? [PIC]
Four Nazi bunkers have been discovered and are assumed to be haunted by the ghost of Hitler himself. Hitler's private bunkers were discovered on a Danish beach after one of the worst ***** in history, triggered by McCain allegedly saying "kneegrow please" at a New Years Eve party in 1734, pummeled the beaches ~ huffpo.- alaskanassassin, on 08/04/2008, -2/+13rofl, digg this up.

- flogistan, on 08/04/2008, -2/+18I may not understand beach erosion, but with consideration to the tide in the picture, and the sand that had to be covering the structure, does that look to you like they could have been completely covered for fifty years?
- ericdano, on 08/04/2008, -1/+11It might have been buried in 1940's to hide it from the Allies..........and then nature did the rest.
- DrDreyfus, on 08/04/2008, -2/+4So... what are you insinuating?
- flogistan, on 08/04/2008, -3/+15I was insinuating that it didn't look like they would have stayed covered there due to the giant ocean there that would wash the sand away. My secret underlying theme was that DrDreyfus is a penis, but that's always my underlying theme when I write.
- PBerger, on 08/04/2008, -0/+12I think it was exposed a little and they dug the rest out.
- wrs123, on 08/04/2008, -0/+8PBerger is right, they mentioned that in the article. Some local boys saw some of it sticking out of the sand and they alerted their nearest nazi bunker unburying authorities

lol good to know
- PingoLingo, on 08/04/2008, -0/+1i'm no expert either but ocean air does have a way of wreaking havoc on steel. i'm sure the bunker had some sort of ventilation system and it could have worked it's way in.

- MidnightRIder77, on 08/04/2008, -0/+142Four bunkers were found. There are three pictures. All we get is "Experts have already removed a number of items including stamps bearing Hitler's image, socks, military stripes, books and medicines."
It's cool that they were unearthed after all this time, but I think a digital camera can store more than 3 photos before running out of room.- sputnike, on 08/04/2008, -0/+1As can a web server of one of the UK's biggest newspapers... damn it Daily Mail... you suck... make a god damned slide show!

Too bad they didn't get to these sooner. Looks like they got the ***** rusted out of them. And those "experts" are probably locals who would steal anything that got lost on the beach. Check eBay.

- Buckwyld, on 08/04/2008, -2/+12This is very interesting. Buried for 50 years and intact... the timeline doesn't make too much sense to me. 1945 + 50 = 1995. No one ransacked the place just after the war? I can understand it getting buried well after 1945, but I just don't get why the stuff would still be in there.
- dasamps, on 08/04/2008, -0/+17People keep forgetting that this isn't the 90s.
- BossKey, on 08/04/2008, -2/+20We're just desperately nostalgic for the time before the Bush administration.
- qetuo, on 08/04/2008, -1/+8Take the Daily Mail with a large pinch of salt. I mean it is a newspaper and they can not even spell 'what' correctly.

1. it was ransacked
2. it was not ransacked because it didn't have anything worth ransacking

- CuriousDan, on 08/04/2008, -2/+1They were not intact. First, they were rusty inside and covered in sand, then people robbed them.
- D4CH, on 08/04/2008, -0/+4People did not rob this one.
- grimward, on 08/04/2008, -0/+2Yes they did, they're just called "archeologists" :D

- Lith25, on 08/04/2008, -0/+1Whats with the can of soda in picture 12?
- Br3ach, on 08/04/2008, -2/+14Amazing these were held back from recorded history for so long without being exposed. It seems like this was really like walking into another time, I am glad they were able to preserve it
As much as Hitler was a sadistic mass murderer, he was also a genius of war, politics, and manipulation, which no one can dispute. Though a grim reminder of what once was, an important one none the less.- thirteenthcor, on 08/04/2008, -0/+8Thank god he was a retarded war strategist and tactician though, or we'd all be in deep in it.
- annenk38, on 08/04/2008, -0/+1The topic of Hitler's merits as a strategist has been discussed as nauseam in military literature. The successes of the opening campaigns of WWII testify to anything but failure on either tactical or strategic levels. Failure to secure adequate fuel resources for the Russian campaign is logistical in nature.
- ltchimpo, on 08/04/2008, -1/+2"Hitler had the right idea, he was just an underachiever. Kill 'em all Adolf, all of 'em - Jew, Mexican, American, White - Kill 'Em All! I pray to you God to kill these ***** people." - Bill Hicks

- luckyguy2000, on 08/04/2008, -2/+251. just because this was a german military bunker from the fascist times it doesnt mean the soldiers were nazis.
2. ive seen this story on tv and they featured a original soldier from this particular bunker who put his foot into the bunker many decades later and he was really moved, showed the tv team how things looked and worked like when he left. he was happy stationed in denmark, because the relationship with the local ppl was a good one.- phoenixshard, on 08/04/2008, -2/+4You would think that the fact that they found artifacts and other evidence marking them as a German bunker would quite clearly mark it as a Nazi bunker. It could also be the fact that the article quite clearly says that a German soldier was mentioned also gives off the fact that its a Nazi bunker. I'd go out on a limb and say that it was a Nazi bunker that housed Nazi soldiers, and yes German soldiers were Nazi soldiers.
- Blydchyld, on 08/04/2008, -0/+3Phoenix.
I'm afraid your very wrong, in no way did the general population of the german armed forces need to be a member of the National Socialist party.
People who were members of the NSDAP ("national socialistic german workers' party") at any time could be called nazis (short for: "national socialist") without a doubt. I guess this is true for many members of the wehrmacht.
Those who fought for Hitler and were not members of the NSDAP (or whose membership-book went lost somehow) nevertheless fought for Nazi-Germany and may be considered nazis as well.
The Nazi party was the only political party allowed in Germany soon after Hitler's election as Chancellor in 1933.
During the war, "Nazi" and "German" became synonymous, unjustly perhaps, due to the efforts of Allied propagandists. But of course not every German soldier belonged to the Nazi party. Probably the majority did not.
All members of the SS were members of the Nazi party, by definition. But the Waffen-SS was a relatively small part of the German armed forces.

- grneye53, on 08/04/2008, -14/+8WOW ! Chenney's summer home ! I guess he couldn't keep it off Google forever !
- TwiStEr55, on 08/04/2008, -0/+1Theres actually a lot of these bunkers still in tact. Especially on the west coast of denmark there are still a lot of them. They filled the entries so you cant fool around in them, but you can still climb on the them.
- vrikis, on 08/04/2008, -10/+1I had 2 friends die trying to find more pictures in that article...

- lightmywifire, on 08/04/2008, -0/+1Anyone else notice that on one of the pictures on the 2nd link (slideshow), there was graffiti on the side of one of the bunkers? Also, where are the big guns?

- HanSolo69, on 08/04/2008, -0/+8For all we know, the Daily Mail probably built those just to have a story.
- nutgroist, on 08/05/2008, -0/+0As most British readers know, The Daily Mail IS a nazi bunker, though not so secret about it:
