- WiseWeasel, on 09/13/2008, -0/+24In other news, nanoflowers could lead to nanosex, especially combined with some nanochocolates...
- steven0451, on 09/13/2008, -6/+19Wait, let me check my list of awesome..
1) XKCD - Nope..
2) Lasers - I wish...
3) Nano-tech - Win!
Dugg. - ScottMcIntyre, on 09/13/2008, -1/+12This is quite an eye-opener. I've never heard of nanoflowers, though I'm aware of nanotechnology. It seems these nanoflowers have the potential to be very effective in extending the life of battery power cells.
QFA: "In Cao’s study, scientists grew clusters of carbon nanotubes—each 50,000 times smaller than a strand of human hair—that have strong electrical conductivity. They then put manganese oxide on top of the nanotubes. The process resulted in dandelion-shaped nanoclusters that will ultimately lead to a battery system with a higher energy storage capacity, longer life, and greater efficiency that current batteries." - megamod, on 09/14/2008, -0/+5ouch I think people are hatin' bc you mentioned XKCD...at the top of the list none the less
- totallyhigh, on 09/14/2008, -0/+4awesome
- chubbybubba, on 09/14/2008, -0/+3Can we not call them nanoflowers?
It's hard to take it seriously when someone calls them nanoflowers.
Maybe nanoclusters or nanobullets or naneffinsixpacks. - caltheos, on 09/14/2008, -0/+2So that's where Peter Hamilton got the name of his book...good read btw
They would improve battery life because surface area is king in batteries. The more surface area on the inside of the battery, the more charge you can hold. Lithium Ion batteries have such great storage potential because they are basically a porous lithium sponge. - baldboy7, on 09/14/2008, -0/+1dugg for one weird ass title
- windowboxes, on 01/27/2009, -0/+1It is intresting to know that flower may be used for battery....
- inactive, on 09/14/2008, -0/+1This is nanoromantic.
- Checkerd, on 09/14/2008, -0/+1Just be sure to wear a nanocondom.
Wait for it... - Maxjan, on 09/14/2008, -0/+1Will we get nanoallergies? Or can I take some NanoClaritin?
- DeFex, on 09/14/2008, -0/+1whats the point of nanoflowers without nanobees?
- wontstoptalking, on 09/14/2008, -0/+1Hmmm....

- frsrblch, on 09/14/2008, -0/+1They can do lots of amazing ***** with nanotechnology, but for it to ever have any effect on our lives it has to be scalable. Surface area be damned, you're never going to be able to make enough carbon nanotubes like this cheaply enough to be cost-competitive with anything.
I also like how it doesn't describe how these things make awesome batteries, just that they do.
Digg should stick to it's strengths: curing cancer and throwing ***** at the Republicans (or throwing their own ***** back at them, whichever way you prefer to look at it). - Fruvous, on 09/14/2008, -1/+2Could this article be any more vague?
"They're called nanoflowers and they'll make batteries better. "
Um, how? why? when?
I hate it when tech articles are so vague. - inactive, on 01/13/2009, -0/+1http://www.babatek.com/original-hp-laptop-battery- ...

http://cleansecolonnow.info - vngu2547, on 09/14/2008, -0/+0Doesn't it seem like anything with the 'nano' suffix is popular on Digg?
- vngu2547, on 09/14/2008, -0/+0Your methodology is simple - but sound...
- greenlight2001, on 09/14/2008, -1/+150,000 times smaller than a strand of human hair? How will make them into batteries if we can't even see them! They'll need to be... atleast 3 times this size!
- wontstoptalking, on 09/14/2008, -2/+2Bart's lizards take over the city because they have no predator. They do, however, kill all the pigeons, which Springfield is happy for.
Bart: "But now we have no pigeons and we're still infested by lizards!"
Skinner: "Don't worry. We'll just get a bunch of Chinese Snakes to take care of the lizards."
Bart: "But then we'll have a bunch of snakes!"
Skinner: "Not to worry. We already have thirty gorillas on order. They'll take care of the snakes."
Bart: "But then we have gorillas!"
Skinner: "Don't worry. The winter will take care of them." - marrydbeatty, on 12/21/2008, -0/+0aggressiveness towards her husband than the kids themselves. They are cashing in on the circus that is Kate's OCD and tendencies towards verbal abuse towards her husband and many viewers find this unacceptable.

"Wait, let me check my list of awesome..
1) [The Onion] - Nope..
2) Lasers - I wish...
3) Nano-tech - Win!
Dugg."
Now, observe the amount of diggs I get. - luiskhazlett, on 12/03/2008, -0/+0UK Gambling Directory
