- DEFSMAC, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19phew, looks like we don't need that deep core drilling team with ben affleck and nuke after all.
- mordain, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17Dammit
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17I guess the crazy French air traffic controller who said that it would was wrong. Who'da thunk it?
- Jugm123, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10god dammit
i was looking forward to that. - mark_in_bc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8I was kinda hoping it would hit. You know, shake things up a bit.
- ikiryou, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8We can still use the deep core drilling team, but replace Affleck with Hillary Swank. They can use it to drill deep down into the earth, where we'll be living once this comet chunk hits the earth.
- Maagic, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8but some weird guy on Coast to Coast said it would hit in the Atlantic, dammit.. I wanted mass carnage! :(
- 4771cu5, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9Yuffie, you would have had to have been to YTMND.com before to even begin to understand.
- gh3tto, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Maybe it should hit Earth.
- flood6, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Well, it's not May 25th, yet...
- Nessguy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Don't you mean Crater. :P I'm not sure how one could really live in a creator.
- quicksilver, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5sure would be kinda weird if it did it earth with the release of Da Vinci code.
- ikiryou, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5For more possible extinction-by-space-rock updates, check out http://neo.jpl.nasa.gov/ca/.
[Masamune not included.] - cuoops, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4heh...great information on that page. Go here for more info and video
http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/hubble/Comet_73P.html - justice7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4nvm, i found the answer
"When comets get close to the sun, they heat up. Trapped gases inside the nucleus expand and sometimes explode out. Particularly energetic "jets" of gas can blow a comet apart, or make it vulnerable to the forces of gravity as it passes by planets or the Sun." - justice7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4i dont mean to be a conspiracy theorist.... but..

.. Bruce Willis .. Saved us!!! Seriously, why did it explode not a month before it gets here? - MaxPeck, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I'll bet it "lands" (sub launched ICBM) somewhere in the Middle East (tehran) on the 25th...(nuke goes off)"oops!, we missed a piece..."(glass parkinglot)
/(subliminal conspiracy therory generator off) - justice7, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4What was the cause of the comet breaking up?
Oh, did we shoot it down, and not tell anyone? Success! ... I KNEW IT. - caper88, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3If you read the original article by the author, he does not claim that the comet is going to hit the earth, but one of the many fragments. Apparently, there are many unaccounted for and untracked fragments from the broken comet.
- acruxksa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2How can the Mayans predict the earth will end in 2023 if their calendar only goes to 2012?
Anyway, would anyone really expect NASA to actually tell us if the comet (or it's fragments) in fact are going to hit the earth? - RobotCitizen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Is it wrong to be disappointed?
- Nessguy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Yes, but your name Yuffie reminded me of the meteor from FFVII.
- 0x00, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7I guess some mad scientist bent on world destruction used Metric units somewhere where he should have used US customary units.
- rot97, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2That would have cleared up our problem with Iran... but i guess it has to go down the old fashion way.
- lame_duck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Correct me if I'm wrong but the bigest piece is 1-3 miles, and its made of dust and ice... If it hits, wouldn't the worst thing to happen is the ice gets used in some nasty martini?
- sid333, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't trust NASA.
- KidVicious, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Wouldn't it be Robert Duvall and friends, since it's a comet and not an asteroid?
- ZenKai, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wong Wei
- briangig, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1so we're not all gonna die? I'll digg it.
- loudthing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1shoot, i guess I won't be getting that birthday present after all.....
- VipeNess, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1diggd
- TruXter, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1is this the one that the dork on coast to coast was talking about?
george is a cheerleader man... mike segal would tell people off for sounding to foolish. - RussianSurfer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0did it predict the Housing Bubble Burst? just curious ;)
- Crusader888, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0My Dear Fellowmen,
I would like to share with you a prophecy revealed sometime in the 1990s. The prophecy says that there will be something from the sky that will fall and sea water will boil. If this fragment of Comet SW-3 falls on the Atlantic Ocean as predicted, then water at the point of impact would boil, won't it? Then the prophecy would be fulfilled. However, the impact may cause a mega-tsunami and this would devastate coastal communities in the US, Canada, the Carribeans, Africa, South America and western part of Europe. Better for people in these areas that may be affected to evacuate on May 25 and go further inland. Just come back a little later.
Crusader888 - Mystikal, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Mayans predicted the earth will end on December 23rd, 2023. The mayan calender has never been wrong.
- ultimathule, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Hahaha.
- Yuffie, on 10/12/2007, -8/+7Aww, To bad. I was hoping NASA would create advanced space shuttles to land on the comet, then drill a hole in the comet and throw some nukes in and boom, no more comet. Then of course the nuke will get damaged and it will be impossible to remote detinate it so one man will have to stay behind and set it off himself. That would be cool.
- RussianSurfer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0U know let the damned thing hit.. I just bought a house and I'm not ready for the mortgage payments. Plus I figure it would put a quick end to the Iraq war and pretty much all the wars goin on right now.
See there is a plus to it :) - Disease, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Well that's a damn shame. I was hoping for an apacolypse...
Seriously... - joaquin112, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1WHY??? I WANTED COMMET TO HIT US!!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2are u mentally ill ?!
- ikiryou, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2*Chants: "Sephi-roth, Sephi-roth"....*
- tomhutchinson, on 10/12/2007, -11/+8Aaaaahhhh, too late!
http://omgameteor.ytmnd.com/ - film42, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2Well hopefully it hits earth in an old part of some lamo city, distroying that, causing the build of a new urban area!
i have slways wanted to live in a creator!!! - Yuffie, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1That was actually from the movie Armageddon, not Final Fantasy 7...
- Brak710101, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Yea, Yuffie,
Stop living in the dark ages! Its YTMND.com! - Yuffie, on 10/12/2007, -10/+3Tomhutchinson, I don't even know what to say about your site... Is the black dot suspose to represent a meteor?? And why did you only add a very small clip of some final fantasy 6 music in the background? Why not put the entire song?
- metajoe, on 10/12/2007, -7/+0I doubt it was ever going to hit us period.
