- reaver, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Awesome, I've been looking for something like this. I love the show.
- tbuskey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I like the show in general except, as many have noted, the bridge myth.
Jaime did not build a bridge. He built a table.
A bridge is anchored at both ends. It may only be by gravity (like a log across a gully) but it's got to attach to something.
Get a real (civil) engineer in to build a scale bridge. There are methods in engineering to scale down for testing. Ex: ice testing a river at 1/4 scale. You can't use pure water because it's 4x too strong. They add fertilizer to the water to weaken the ice to 1/4 strength. They add things to roughen the riverbed because it needs proper friction. etc.
Mythbuster built a movie bridge that looks smaller, but everything else is probably wrong for the scale. - Phosphan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I don't know what exactly they tried, but in my experience Cola can indeed be used to remove rust, as long as it's not too much. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phosphoric_acid for why.
- cool4u2view, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I agree about the steps on the bridge myth, I wish they would redo that as I don't believe they did it correctly. Real soldiers can keep much better step than his pneumatic feet. Also they didn't even check what frequency they would need to achieve to get the bridge to oscillate. Unless they use the term harmonic frequencies and show an oscilliscope they are not doing it correctly.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0this is pretty cool, nice find
- Sajin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That's correct! We also would have taken "hand" or "sock full of gravel".

Digg. - SkeletaLlama, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Did anyone read that interview with Adam Savage a few weeks ago? In it he said that when the show first aired people thought he and Jamie were gay because of the way they dressed and groomed themselves. It was hilarious. Ever since then I haven't been able to watch an episode without picturing Jamie in a gay bar with his enormous mustache, looking like a grouchy bald walrus and hitting on dudes with his funny mumble-talk. Somehow it makes Jamie seem almost as humorous as Adam.
By the way, everyone should watch the episode where they attach a rocket to a child sized dummy on a playground swing, pure gold!! - BugMeNot2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Mythbusters... ROCKS
- sentai, on 09/06/2008, -0/+0http://www.bu5.info Good article, enjoy reading it
- Draconiko, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Great show. Saw this list on wikipedia a good while ago though. Stills gets my digg.

- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Great.
I wonder if the serial is somewhere online for download? - dewy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This show is great, good to see someone has catalogued all the myths, Carrie is HAWT!
- exobot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That's f'ing awesome, we don't get Mythbusters in the UK (at least, not that I've seen), and have heard about it before - so this is great :D
- Shots, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Lol. Love their job. Blowing ***** up and getting licenses to try out subversive stuff, then showing people this crap you are doing? Awesome.
Though I do have to say something about that bridge one - which was tried on a small suspension bridge with me and two of my army buddies, standing near one end of the bridge for safety reasons, and then doing a 'march on the spot' drill. We were able to get some mini oscilliations on the bridge. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The guys are great and they are doing a super show. Probably the best currently on discovery channel.
A great fun is to take some beer and relax with friends watching the one-hour-long show. :) - Darq1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Love this show, been watching for years.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very good!

- boozedrinker, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0GOOD POST - I was always wondering what happened to my turds.
- Pulse_Instance, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I may be one of the few people that think this, but a lot of what they do on myth busters is complete crap. They make a lot of assumptions that do not make any sense then say that have busted a myth because of it. For an example the way that they did the break step bridge was just awful there is no way that what they did could possibly have worked. Yet if you put a bunch of kids on a bridge you can accomplish what they did not.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0agreed
- Wamzlee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0This stuff is old, all of these Myths were previously busted on episodes of MythBusters.
Quite posting old stuff!!!!
/sarcasm - cankles, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I hate how the whole show is about their assistants now and not the two mythbusters. Get those stupid kids off the show. They can leave the hot girl and have her walk around in the background, but I don't care about their oppinions.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Same with me mr. worm- very good post. I also like mythbusters.
- jokers10, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I love it how people try to dog this show by saying "what they are doing doesn't work because of this," or "it would have worked by doing this." Who is going to sign off on a bunch of kids marching on a bridge until it crumbles and falls to the ground? They used what resources they had without dangering human lives. Come up with a better example if you truly don't beleive that what they do is science.
- cankles, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0one of them is bald and the other has short red hair
- doorman444, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Mythbusters is one of the best shows on television
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0the dupe thing was a joke man...
- cankles, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0"I have sex with vaginas." worm
That's a myth...put a big busted stamp next to this one! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0"This is a dupe" in 3, 2, 1...
- cankles, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0DUPE!
