it took me 30 minutes to fill in about 1 square inch of the paper - malanic, on 03/29/2009, -0/+5Someone quoted him in the comments there (but I fixed it for her);
“He who wonders discovers that this in itself is wonder.” - M.C. Escher
Sums him up nicely. I'll have to remember that one. - borez, on 03/29/2009, -0/+5I've had the same Relativity and Waterfall prints hanging on my wall since I was 16, through college, Uni, my first live in girlfriends house, my second, my third, my flats on Portobello road, Maida Vale, Little Venis and now my current flat and still to this day I love his work. These prints have followed me through my life and are probably one of the only consistent things I hold on to:

- shutaro, on 03/29/2009, -0/+5You can't touch that.
- cfuse, on 03/30/2009, -1/+6Speaking as a printmaker, ***** you painters. We've got MC - what have you got? Jackson Pollack. Suck it.
- MidnightRIder77, on 03/29/2009, -2/+6Escher is one of the true modern pioneers of art.
- DouglasScott, on 03/29/2009, -0/+3Anyone who loves his optical illusion stuff should take a look at his earlier work. His many depictions of small towns on southern Italy are every bit as fantastical. And I must say that they do very well with the early work of Pink Floyd. And the 80s. And other things.
- roijen, on 03/31/2009, -0/+3why, so it is
- DonAlfred, on 03/29/2009, -2/+5Escher is underrated.

- salinungatha, on 03/30/2009, -1/+2I was pretty disappointed when in Amsterdam to discover none of his original works are on display there. Devastated, I had no other recourse than to go out on the town to try and forget. Poor me.
