- AllenS, on 10/12/2007, -13/+74Well I'm a definitely willing to help any woman in need...
- dracula7, on 10/12/2007, -5/+56girls need to soak up that seratonin, read more about it on my favorite website: http://www.dontspitswallow.com (not pornographic)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+47Interesting caveat: it seems that women get some benefits of sex only if there's semen involved.
- xaviel, on 10/12/2007, -4/+35Quote "Anything that is free, feels fabulous and leaves you glowing is plainly a good idea."
What!?? You mean you dont have to pay for sex? - dracula7, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19down boy, it didnt say anything about compulsive masturbation
- chadell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15Frequent masturbation, especially during the young adult years, can lower a man's chances of developing prostate cancer, a new study claims. source: http://mpelembe.mappibiz.com/archives_02/Masturbation_Therapy.html
- vspazv, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16Everyone pays for sex. Most just don't pay in cash.
"Hey, wanna help prevent cancer?" - dannylewis, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15*Runs out of comment area crying*
- Lacero, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15"But scientists are now beginning to understand that the perceived feel-good effects of sexual intercourse are merely the tip of the iceberg."
It also helps to perpetuate the human species, not to mention it makes men less prone to violence, something China is going to have a very hard time dealing with. - pinetree, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15So is snake venom.
- yukevster, on 10/12/2007, -7/+19Dude, try having some prolonged and intense sex with a girl; you might find the article a little more believable.
- JohnboiWaltune, on 10/12/2007, -4/+15@yukevster
"Have you had sex with a prostitute, dude? It's a boring, sad and soul destroying experience. Twice is twice too many for me. "
If you go to a high class, expensive call girl, it can be quite enjoyable. I'm talking about one that is not only stunningly good looking and knows what a guy wants sexually without asking, but also how to act like she really likes you and enjoys having sex with you. Many countries have brothels that cater to rich gentleman, and are populated with girls like this. They are also tested for disease regularly and know how to prevent the spread of STDs.
I don't think there is anywhere like this in the U.S. but it's totally worth it if you're on holiday somehwere like Rio, Prague, or Amsterdam. - tearor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12
When a problem comes along
You must whip it
Before the cream sits out too long
You must whip it
When something's going wrong
You must whip it - DaveyDeadite, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13I'm wondering how many digg users this will actually benefit as oppose to just making them feel guilty about not being 'healthy'? ha. Just kidding.
- yukevster, on 10/12/2007, -8/+18@xaviel
Have you had sex with a prostitute, dude? It's a boring, sad and soul destroying experience. Twice is twice too many for me.
I think this article would only be referring to mutually enjoyable sex anyway. - modularsky, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13The first order of business is to get out of the armchair and go outside. Worrying about sexual frustrations comes later. Remember, baby steps.
- hakz, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12"More evidence that sex is good for you"
too bad I aint getting any :( - yukevster, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9'Fapping' as you so eloquently put it, has been shown to reduce the risk of prostate cancer. It's a healthy practice in general - in moderation. (Google it)
Just don't blame me if you need glasses. - Narpas, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11It fell off. I blame you.
- colinmhayes, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8looks like it's time to get down off my abstinence horse, if not for my health, then for the ladies.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8It's not a jab at gay sex. It's just that, as the article says, "penile-vaginal intercourse is the only sexual behaviour consistently associated with better psychological and physiological health".
There's nothing wrong with boy-boy or girl-girl rumpy-pumpy, but if the scientific evidence doesn't support certain health benefits coming from these, then there's not much you can do about it. - pinetree, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9OK plnegative1, I'll bite.
"What is sex for?" - it is for producing offspring (as far as nature is concerned, even if that isn't your motivation at the time). How does that imply that it is good for the person having sex? There are many insects that die after having sex. That's perfectly natural, but hardly very good for the individual insect that becomes a corpse (even if it is good for the propogation of its species).
There are a lot of people that run around saying some food is good for you because it is "natural" while other food is bad because it contains "chemicals" (as if "natural" food is made of something other than chemicals). My snake venom comment was a jab at the idea that everything that is natural is automatically good/healthy, as if God designed the world to be a soft, cuddly playground where nothing bad would happen to you. If snake venom seems too far off topic for you, how about apples? They are natural, but their seeds contain cyanide (small quantities, and you won't absorb much if you swallow the seeds whole, so it will take some work to kill yourself with them). "Natural" does not imply that something is good for you. Sorry if that is news to you. - Ace2005, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8So when is the research into the health effects of compulsive masturbation starting?
- angrykeyboarder, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12I can't help but think a lot of women would challenge that theory.
- plnegative1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Why wouldn't sex be good for you? It's natural!
- aristotle1990, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8"Anything that is free, feels fabulous and leaves you glowing is plainly a good idea."
I steal crack from my local drug dealer! - p9s50W5k4GUD2c6, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10"Is this technology?" Ohh, not this question again.
Here's an answer for you: it depends on, ahem, your approach. - p9s50W5k4GUD2c6, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7"So is snake venom."
LOL - I think you have bene saving that line for just the right time! - digitalsin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Ok, next up, pot
then we'll get to rock'n'roll
and finally the 60s will be validated - plnegative1, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Use your brain. What is snake venom for? What is sex for?
- AttroPheed, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I hope multiple simultaneous partners provide enough of a health benefit to counteract all the nipple clamp cuts, candle wax burns and cat o' nine tails whip marks from the last time I had sex.
- sabotank, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6"i'll be in my bunk....." - Jayne Cobb
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4So if a Man and a women have sex, but she likes it in the ass, and it brings them both to orgasim, then no one benifited? what about Oral sex? 69 ?? I would think it would be just as benifical?
- jer2eydevil88, on 10/12/2007, -5/+9Sex is good for you? Well DUH!!
- shoota, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5honestly do we need any more evidence to convince people its good? seriously.
- SlowOnTheUptake, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5They're not prostitutes, they're health care professionals. I'm going to call my HMO on Monday.
- toddv, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4"Vagas nerve"????
well...there goes any cred-duh-bility for the article... - CubiX, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6I agree on that. The 'only penile-vaginal intercourse works' theory sounds sounds kinda more conservative than scientifically based. ----- Woops. This is supposed to be RE on the 5blocksfree's comment below.
- neilpan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4you are willing to help ANY woman ? Think again :P
- chadell, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4The pursuit of sex has emotionally or mentally scarred many people. It is only sex what's the fuss?
- p9s50W5k4GUD2c6, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4@pinetree
And to think I thought you were just making a smartass comment! You HAD to go and get all serious-there's-a-deep-meaning-behind-my-metaphor on us.
What once was a good joke is now an interesting point (though I confess I liked the joke a whole lot more). - 5blocksfree, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5@yukevster - Thank you for pointing this out - I'll look you up the next time I need a verifiable, well-tested theory explaining how something works.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -10/+13"free, feels fabulous and leaves you glowing"
Well, have a look at this site. :-)
NO Porn - but very sexy. http://hottube.wordpress.com/ - pinetree, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Great. I'm screwed because I'm not. :(
- tekmonkey, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6More evidence that God is a man.
- Kujila, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5"Hurry kids! Go have sex! Also masturbate daily, because it's entirely normal!"
Hmm. -_- - mercatfat, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Darksyde-
Ahem:
"The beneficial effects could last at least a week"
I suppose there's no point mentioning that there's a huge difference between percieved "feeling good" and actually feeling good and being healthy. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7i don't know, im a little on 5blocksfree's side. Weed is reasonably cheapy and offers a much longer good feeling, does that make it good for me too?
- duodave, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Wow, this guy has to have the best job in the world. Did you see his list of publications? http://www.geocities.com/stuartbrody/page3.htm
