- warmonger48, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4Too complex. Must have been created by an almighty being.
Note: I'm being facetious.- kendals, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Because we all know that point mutations ADD new functional information to the genome of any species..
Note: I'm being facetious. - anonatron, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Sweet, a religious debate, who is going to tell me the earth is 5000 years old so I can get a good laugh at work?
In the future, how about we leave our religious views out of this and just accept the fact that the pictures look really cool, huh?

- mynameistim, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2It just goes to show you anything can be good looking if you zoom in close enough...but it doesn't mean that we want to see a beautiful electron micrograph of rosie o'donnell's ***** stained asshairs.
- RedRummy, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2Wow!

- geneticus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I agree, what is it these days with the frigging sciblogosphere. It's the new sublime, end of story. Leave the religion out of it. In case you are thinking of flaming me ;) I am pro-darwin anti-religion. Damn I mentioned it. Och well.
- gabacho, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Are there any descriptions anywhere as to just what I'm looking at?
- geneticus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0At the bottom of each image but the WAY too scan information. The colour coding would be nice as would some details of the specimen for the non-expert.
- geneticus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I should have looked at the images first. Pretty ***** this year I would say. Once more Deerinck wins out. It's quite a nice image - an illusion of 3D, but its just another confocal image. OK I know its technically challenging but still. Yawn. 2nd is unbeleivably bad. 3rd, 4th, 5th not great. ( I haven't watched the video though so maybe there is some truth behind the hype). 6th I like - except Iwouldn't have chosen magenta to pseudocolor. My fave is 7th place. Simple yet beautiful. Not exactly difficult micoscopy though but beautifully composed. The worsst by a long way is 10th place. The image is saturated in all channels and shows nothing aesthetically appealing at all (sorry mr. michal janes if your reading). Some of the honourable mentions were better. Odd choice. Mind you the judges are the judges I rest my case.
