- IceUck, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9Burn fuel to create light, and then convert the light to electricity? That sounds really really REALLY inefficient to me, but then I didn't go to MIT...
- stou, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7That sounds like a good idea, after all the internal combustion engine is only around 20% efficient. If you can burn the gasoline but get 21% of the energy it would be worth. Especially since such an engine would be almost "solid state" and will last hella longer, etc.
- soogy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Energy_efficiency will jiggle your brain a bit.
- llbbl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I can't wait for electricty 2.0.
- mrmagoo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Interesting for sure, but I don't think it will revolutionize the automobile.
- triplehelix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1here's something you can buy not soon, but right now, to get over 100mpg:
http://digg.com/technology/100_mpg_car_available_NOW - Clearz, on 10/12/2007, -7/+6Bla Bla Bla. Every day I come to digg to find out about 47 new cures for Cancer and 89 new types of car engines that promises ultra low MPG or some new way to travel on a beam of light. While here I am still paying through the f*ucking roof for fuel. Its getting old. Unless I can walk into a dealer and buy this crap soon and not in like 50-100 years then stop anoying me about it. Now go ahead and mod me down bitches.
- manfrin, on 10/12/2007, -7/+4Most of the stuff on Digg is interesting, but this is just stupidly boring and un-noteworthy.
They're trying to get more energy, they've been trying all along. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -12/+2But will the more fuel efficient cars run Linux?

What is Digg?
